Day 1,628.Today, as President Zelensky warns that as many as 50,000 North Korean troops could be preparing to deploy to Russia, we examine what a renewed role for Pyongyang could mean for the war in Ukraine. We also report on Ukraine's latest strikes against Wildberries, after one of the Russian e-commerce giant's largest warehouses was set ablaze overnight, as Kyiv continues targeting the logistics infrastructure sustaining Moscow's war machine. Then we turn to politics inside Russia, where a top Moscow court has barred an opposition anti-war party from standing in September's elections, offering another glimpse of the Kremlin's tightening grip on political life. And later, we hear firsthand what life is like in some of Ukraine's key frontline cities as the war enters a new and potentially dangerous phase, from a journalist who has just returned from the battlefield. In this Dark Moon Download, Britten speaks from the dark moon in Cancer as the Moon moves toward her chart ruler, Mars in Cancer, and as she approaches her Mars return. What comes through is a meditation on power, leadership, and the malefics: Mars, Saturn, and the Sun. Topics She Covers: Why confronting our own power can feel complicated, especially when we are committed to not harming others with it. Mars as the high sensation of truth, and the part of us that cuts through masks, pretenses, and the fear of being too honest. Saturn as the container for time, focus, pressure, responsibility, and bringing a vision down to Earth. The Sun as visibility, generosity from the heart, and the practice of sharing what you love without promoting from resentment or shame. The difference between loving boundaries and walls around the heart. The alchemy of Ablaze as a process of breaking down and building back up into a more potent version of yourself. The investment we make when we give ourselves the coin for the ferryman and say yes to our own leap of trust. Through the malefics, Britten explores the kind of leadership that can stay honest, heart-led, and boundaried while learning how to hold power, pressure, visibility, and the work we are here to steward. Learn More: ABLAZE is a high intensity group initiation space for big-hearted leaders craving to distill, embody, and amplify their most authentic voice. Inside of 4 months, you will be held to the fires of your own sublime heart. You say Yes because you trust Britten to hold the space as you cross the threshold into your next chapter. Content Warning: At 01:05:00, there's a brief discussion of the death of writer-creator Carolyn Elliott, who recently took her own life. Please take care of yourself and skip if needed. In this episode, Britten returns to Moon to Moon after a stretch of travel, beginning to gather what has been moving through her as August opens and eclipse season approaches. At the center of this episode is Leo: the Sun, Jupiter in Leo, the Six of Wands, and the question of what it means to trust yourself enough to share your offering. Topics They Cover: Ablaze returning for a second round as a small mentorship space for people moving through a threshold in their creative, business, or leadership path. Jupiter in Leo, the Six of Wands, and trust as the practice of letting yourself be seen without needing everyone to stay. Britten's time at Pagan Camp in Scotland, and the campfire moment that helped her understand song and story as what you have to offer Leo as the way of the Sun, and the shame that can gather around sharing our light, presence, and beingness with others. The movement from the Five of Wands to the Six of Wands, and then into the endurance and fading that can come with the Seven of Wands. Carolyn Elliott's death, the impact of her teachings on Britten's work, and the complexity of revering a teacher while also needing to leave their community. Leadership, repair, and the need for leaders who can stay with themselves while listening with an open heart. The Odyssey, coming home, and the long, circuitous path of returning to ourselves. Through Leo, tarot, travel, grief, and the return to her work, Britten reflects on what it means to offer your song to the circle and trust that there are people who want to warm their hands by that fire. This week we're joined by Jenny Blaze from Bravo & Blaze to talk all things Summer House Reunion Part 3.We get into the Amanda and West mess, the explanations that somehow made things worse, and why this reunion felt like three parts of people refusing to just answer a question directly. While we think Amanda deserves plenty of criticism, we're much more fired up about West and the way he's handled... well, pretty much everything. We talk friendship betrayals, selective accountability, Ciara and Mia continuing to be two of the only people making us want to stand up and clap, and whether anyone on that stage actually came prepared for the questions they knew were coming.Basically, if you've spent the last week yelling "THAT'S NOT THE POINT" at your TV, this episode is for you.
A forest lookout sits alone in a glass tower at 2AM and spots flames crowning two distant pines — a fire only he can see. By dawn there's no smoke, no ash, no scorched earth... and no fire at all. From phantom flames that burn and vanish to the burned Bigfoot pulled from a Nevada blaze and the UFOs caught streaking through wildfire smoke, tonight we wander into the strange and unsettling things that appear when the forests burn.EPISODE BLOG PAGE (includes sources and full transcript): https://weirddarkness.com/ghostflamesREAD or DOWNLOAD the full transcript of this episode: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/yjwtx7awFEATURED STORIES IN THIS EPISODE: The author of Frankenstein always saw love and death as connected. (Ghostly Happenings In My Old Apartment) *** The July 1886 murder at the Shawmut Avenue laundry was so shrouded in mystery that even the victim's name was uncertain. (The Wash-House Murder) *** Ghosts, high strangeness, and even Bigfoot – it appears they may all have something in common, and that would be forest fires. Copyright ©2026, Weird Darkness.Originally aired: March, 2021Weird Darkness opens a fire-themed descent that runs from a vanished forest blaze in 1976 Idaho through ghosts, Bigfoot, and UFOs born of wildfires, into Mary Shelley's graveyard education, a gentle apartment haunting, and an unsolved 1886 Boston murder. It opens with a U.S. Forest Service lookout stationed atop Pilot Peak in the Payette National Forest near Warren, high above the South Fork of the Salmon River, who woke sleepless at two a.m. in July 1976 and saw a bright orange triangle near a distant crest, then confirmed through binoculars two huge trees crowning out with flame. He calculated an azimuth with his fire-finder, radioed a two- to four-acre fire to the station fifteen air miles away, and watched it recede and vanish completely within forty minutes, leaving no smoke, no flame, and no charred ground at dawn six air miles out. Supervisors dubbed it the Pilot Peak phantom fire and sent smokejumper aircraft and hotshot crews to circle the ridge for nearly a week without finding a trace, until two months later a thousand-acre blaze on Zena Creek burned in roughly the same location he had reported. From there the episode widens into wildfires laced with the paranormal, beginning with the Curve Fire that struck South Mount Hawkins in the San Gabriel Mountains of California's Angeles National Forest on September 1, 2002, traced to a brittle 1935 wooden lookout tower and rumored to follow a cult ritual, after which hikers reported eyeless animals with hardened flesh and tall shadow figures akin to the Dark Watchers. It moves to the Battle Mountain Complex Fire near Battle Mountain, Nevada on August 6, 1999, where a letter forwarded to the Bigfoot Field Research Organization and a later call to investigator Thom Powell described firefighters capturing a burned, roughly seven-and-a-half-foot creature with a strong equine odor and near-human features. It closes with a July 2014 wildfire at West Kelowna near Vancouver, Canada, where a Castanet news video appeared to show an object shooting from a cloud, and a 2017 sighting by Arthur Frenette in New Hampshire's White Mountains, who watched a ball of fire plunge into Kinsman Ridge ahead of an out-of-control blaze.Next the episode turns to Mary Shelley, who in her 1831 introduction to Frankenstein traced her writing to her literary parents, though her mother, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman author Mary Wollstonecraft, died of puerperal fever days after her birth when Dr. Poignand removed the placenta with unwashed hands. Raised partly at her mother's grave in the St. Pancras churchyard, where she read her mother's work and escaped a strained home after father William Godwin remarried, the teenage Mary met Percy Shelley through the household and, at sixteen, declared love and reportedly first had sex among the tombstones. That fusion of reading, death, and forbidden knowledge surfaces in Victor Frankenstein's graveyard study of decay and in Godwin's 1809 Essay on Sepulchres, which framed visiting the illustrious dead as a form of communion the daughter carried into her novel of a creature assembled from corpses. From there the tone softens with a benign haunting recounted by a woman named Cassie, who moved into a larger, better-kept apartment over Christmas 2018 and lived there three months before moving in with her boyfriend. The internet blinked off repeatedly, cell reception failed in parts of the unit, electrical sockets quit working, bulbs burned out fast, and the shower switched itself on while she was away at classes. One night around one a.m. she and her boyfriend both heard the pitter-patter of bare feet in the kitchen, yet she never felt threatened, and when she left she said goodbye to whatever shared the space with her.The episode closes with the Wash-House Murder, the July 1886 killing of a Chinese laundryman found stabbed fourteen times in his Shawmut Avenue laundry in Boston's South End, his braided queue cut off and the five hundred dollars he had saved for a return to China gone. The victim's name was never certain, printed variously as Bin Chong, Ding Chong, and Wong Kong, and the case drew the Boston Police into a Chinatown governed by rival companies named Moy, Ching, Lee, and Sing. Detectives questioned the violent Moy company leader Ah Moy Chong and brought in New York interpreter Warry S. Charles, but the murder was never solved, and Charles himself was convicted of first-degree murder in 1908 after importing hatchet-armed assassins as a tong leader, leaving four dead in Chinatown.
The U.S. said its ceasefire with Iran is still holding despite continued violence, with both sides trading fire overnight. Iran also struck Kuwait's main airport, killing one person and injuring dozens. Israel's ongoing invasion in Lebanon is also challenging the ceasefire and has sparked rare public tensions between President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Nick Schifrin reports. The crew welcomes special guest co-host Dana June as they sit down with dating coach Eric Karlberg, better known in the pickup artist community as Ablaze. While the legendary dating coach Mystery was scheduled to appear, Ablaze steps in to deliver an incredible masterclass on the evolution of the pickup artist industry, modern dating dynamics, and the psychology of attraction.Ablaze breaks down the origins of the pickup community, tracing it back from underground chat forums and Project Hollywood to the mainstream VH1 reality show. He discusses the concepts in his massive new 642-page book, "The Vortex of Love," which focuses on Ideal Mate Theory rather than the standard evolutionary mate selection models pushed by most dating coaches. The group explores the crucial difference between dating confidence and actual competence, how high-status celebrities and athletes often lack basic game, and why mastering the timing of sexual escalation is the most difficult hurdle for men to overcome. The conversation takes a deep dive into the modern male loneliness epidemic and the massive rise of the Red Pill community. Ablaze shares his honest take on how extreme toxic masculinity and manipulative dating tactics are ultimately hurting men by creating negative feedback loops that prevent them from finding authentic, long-term relationships. He also reveals the behind-the-scenes reality of running intense dating bootcamps with Mystery across the country, which range from five-thousand-dollar seminars to exclusive thirteen-thousand-dollar residential training programs.Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more unfiltered interviews and Las Vegas podcast episodes!

Brian and Ruben from the Austin based metal band Bridges Ablaze join me because why not. We are all about introducing new music on this podcast and via my radio show The Cutting Edge Countdown, and it doesn't get any newer than this. While the band has existed for a few years, it's really just been these two menacing guitar players, writing, recording, and playing their way into the hearts of Texas metal fans. They don't sound like Pantera though, it's progressive leaning metal core with some classic rock sensiblitly thrown in. Let's get an introduciton to Bridges Ablaze, and please go listen to some of their music.

DML's morning insight on a hot topic trending in the United States.

In this episode, Britten shares a candid transmission on the challenges that emerge at six figures and beyond - when your work is already valued, momentum is real, and the next level asks for deeper self-trust and a different relationship to growth. She names common signals you've reached an edge (like resentment, overwhelm, and the vulnerability of becoming a beginner again), reframing them as invitations to cross a new river in your business and to meet what's here with more honesty, playfulness, and capacity. She weaves in the medicine of Mars and Saturn as allies in leadership so your business becomes more contained, sustainable, and aligned. From this foundation, Britten introduces ABLAZE: an intimate container for 12 entrepreneurial mystics who are ready for a potent initiation into their leadership frequency, supported through the real-world thresholds of visibility, support (automated or human), and building a resentment-free, overwhelm-free business rooted in trust. Learn More: ABLAZE is a high intensity group initiation space for big-hearted leaders craving to distill, embody, and amplify their most authentic voice. Inside of 4 months, you will be held to the fires of your own sublime heart. You say Yes because you crave the courage to truly see how big you are. Starting January 29, we join to gather in a community capped at 12 participants for intimacy, vulnerability, and true transformation. You will not be the same leader on the other side of this. You will be more of who you already are. Spots are available until filled, with the latest entry set at February 6. There will be a waitlist for the next round once all spots are filled. The internet, left and right leaning, has been set ablaze by a ragebait headline and a deep dive into our dating practices or rather, our online posting of our burgeoning and established relationships. The British Vogue article, titled 'Is It Embarrassing To Have A Boyfriend' feels like harkening back to an earlier time on the internet, when one op-ed could get everyone talking about one topic and in this week's episode, hosts Ione and Gina take their lens to the comms on courtship.Do we want our favourite influencers to remain perpetually single? Are we once bitten, twice shy about men after the scary stories we hear about dating online? And is any of this influenced by the rise of nuclear family and trad wife rhetoric shared repeatedly by the alt right?Support our work and become a Polyester Podcast member

Could unknown energies be linked with spontaneous human combustion? On this episode, we trace the eerie patterns of unexplained fires that affect not just humans but animals as well. Drawing on the work of famed researchers, we explore the theory that these mysterious burnings may align along invisible ley lines, suggesting a hidden geophysical force that could be responsible for this unexplained phenomenon. From people found consumed by inner fire to livestock and pets inexplicably scorched, as documented by Jenny Randles in Spontaneous Human Combustion and Larry E. Arnold in Ablaze!, the evidence hints at a strange energy connecting these events. We follow the trail of fire to uncover whether the Earth itself could be the unseen spark behind these baffling flames. Then for our Plus+ Members we explore the stunning follow up to Children of the Greys and hear how their sinister hybrid program is still in effect.
