Jordan is the National Director for Youth Alpha. Youth Alpha has been completely redone with youth, by youth, and for youth. It has a heavy emphasis on taking into consideration what teens are actually interested in, and it is done in the voices of their peers. It is a truly global team this time and has been shortened to better meet the demands of youth ministry. It also has been created specifically to be easily led by teens in their youth groups and even their high schools.
When Bas van Rossum was elected to represent youth on the Governing Board of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), he was the youngest person to have ever served in that role. Now as he steps down as president of IFRC's Youth Commission, he talks about the challenges ahead. “Young people are perhaps the closest to the front lines,” he says, during a special episode recorded during the IFRC Youth Forum. “So it's really important that we listen to young volunteers and that we give them space to really shape the direction we're heading.”
Guest speaker, Christian Leto, Pastoral Resident and Youth Leader of Oak City Church in Bartow, preaches a sermon based on Mark 6:30-44.
“A scared world needs a fearless church” – A.W.Tozer This week's C3 Church Global Podcast is a powerful conversation between Ps Phil Pringle and Ps Jeremy Johnson. Ps Jeremy, with his wife Christy are the Lead Pastors of Fearless Church, a vibrant and rapidly growing church in the heart of downtown Los Angeles that is seeing hundreds of people coming to Christ week after week. In this conversation Ps Phil and Jeremy explore the importance of building a church centred on God's presence, the balance between salvation and discipleship, and overcoming fear in our personal lives and ministry. Ps Jeremy shares his journey from youth pastor to senior pastor, and emphasises the transformative power of God's love in casting out fear in his own life. “Perfect love casts out all fear. As we step toward perfect love, perfect love reaches over our shoulder and cast fear out. It's a daily journey. Love more, fear less. The more steps we take towards love, the less fear gets to live in our life.” – Jeremy Johnson ---------------------------------------------------------- Chapters Chapter 1: The Journey from Youth Leader to Pastor (0:00) Chapter 2: Building a Church on God's Presence and Excellence (15:00) Chapter 3: Overcoming Fear and Anxiety in Ministry (30:00) ---------------------------------------------------------- Follow Ps Phil @Philpringle https://www.philpringle.com/ Follow Ps Jeremy Johnson Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyjohnsonla/ Fearless Church: https://www.fearless.church/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@jeremyjohnson_la Fearless Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/6ML2owi3PNu1yod3Z7lAF0?si=aad91edb28de49d4 Book - Order ‘Declare War On Fear': https://www.jeremyjohnson.la/book ---------------------------------------------------------- For more information on C3 Church Global: www.c3churchglobal.com | @c3churchglobal Find you closest C3 Church: https://c3churchglobal.com/find-a-church #wearec3 #jesus #fear #anxiety #churchevent #christianpodcast

In my seond interview with Mike McGarry from YouthPastorTheologian.com we dive deeper into what discipleship means, how we define it, and how that influences what we do with our teens. Specifically we talk about the history and importance of catechism, and how we can learn from that model, and apply it to today. But as we do that, how do we make sure we aren't just reaching teen's minds, but are also deeply reaching their hearts? It's a lot to think about, and Mike does a great job unpacking it.
It's quite common to refer to volunteers and first-responders as ‘heroes'. After all, they often risk their lives to save others. But in some cases, can that hero narrative do more harm than good? Ukraine Red Cross volunteer and IFRC Youth Commission member Maryna Kozhedub answers unequivocally ‘yes', especially for young volunteers. Calling them heroes in conflict situations puts unreal expectations and pressure on people who are also impacted by crisis. “I am absolutely against hero narratives,” she says. “I'm about the narrative that volunteers work hard, but they are humans who have needs and should be protected and cared for, because this pressure would be enormous for anyone.”
In our conversation with Mike McGarry we talk about how youth ministry is theological ministry. And how we can work to help our teens not just regurgitate answers, but learn how to think for themselves and discover answers. How do we cultivate that kind of culture in our youth group? Mike is the Founder/Director of Youth Pastor Theologian. He served as a Youth Pastor for 18 years and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in “Ministry to Emerging Generations” from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Mike is the author of Discover: Questioning Your Way to Faith (New Growth Press, 2023), Lead Them to Jesus: A Handbook for Youth Workers (New Growth Press, 2021), A Biblical Theology of Youth Ministry: Teenagers in the Life of the Church (Randall House, 2019), and was a contributor to Gospel-Centered Youth Ministry: A Practical Guide (Crossway, 2017).
This episode is sponsored by The Plumbing Outlet and Coal Region Winery. Chad Lauer and Chad Evans sit down with local entrepreneur Mike Gerrity. Mike discusses how his passion for caring for his own vehicles organically evolved into a thriving automotive detailing business in Shamokin, PA. He emphasizes small businesses as the backbone of our local area and our nation, and encourages folks in the Coal Region to contemplate how their unique interests and skill sets can benefit the local economy and community. He puts this into practice himself as a youth leader at LCBC, where he and his wife strive to uplift local adolescents. The leadership topic of the day is how to turn our good intentions into action. Thanks for continuing to grow with us here Lauer Power!

It was an absolute pleasure to have this open conversation with Anthony about where his journey started as a young boy full of sadness, frustration resentment and despair and the miraculous transformation he has made as a young man. He had to learn some really tough lessons but to his credit, he feels that he had to go through everything that he did to become the person that he is today. Sometimes life has an unexpected way of teaching us lessons and the life of Anthony McDuffie Jr, perhaps took him on a more circuitous and difficult route to finding his true self.At a young age, he experienced the loss of a loved one and was subject to inner city crime and violence. He went looking for support in the wrong places and eventually got mixed up in crime which led to incarceration. Yet what followed, through studying, hard work and spirituality, was redemption, resilience and forgiveness. After 15 years behind bars, he was released a new man. While in prison, I know there were tough years for Anthony, wondering "why me" or all the "what -ifs" or "wrong place, wrong time," scenarios OR maybe "I should have listened to my mother" conversations he had with himself.Today Anthony has written two books, "Grit, Grind & Glory" and "My Life In Poetry." He's written about lessons learned, finding a mentor, igniting the seed of change as well as how to encourage and inspire youth to succeed. He's a motivational speaker and certified mental health First Aider. HIs transformative journey includes graduating form "Give a Beat's"-"On A New Track" Re-entry Mentoring Program in 2021, where he became a performing artist.Shottie, Anthony's mom, wrote to her son regularly while he was incarcerated. While incarcerated, Anthony desperately longed to see his mother, hold his mother and talk to his mother. Where do you think he went directly upon release?Thank you again Anthony. There are many unfortunate kids out there that now will benefit from your experience and your example.
