A member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Mr. Means visits with fellow Kappa Brother and fellow Aggie, Dr. James L. Reggie Perkins Sr. discusses the process for aspiring college basketball players coming from high school and what they should know.  Describing the landscape for college recruitment, Reggie Sr.  lays out the key things that players and their families should be looking at if playing college basketball is their goal.  The first of a multi-part series, understanding the process is the first to be discussed.

Basketball is a multi-billion global business that has it roots starting on the playgrounds around the world. From the pickup game in the park, it is now sport entertainment that has produced billionaires and global influencers and attracts youth from around the world who seek their fortunes.  Shoe companies, coaches, and universities have for some both helped and exploited the dreams of those hoping to seek that path.  Our guest knows both sides as a former player and agency representative helping his clients maneuver through the minefield that comes with the attention and money at a younger and younger age. Chuck Burch Jr., CPA/PFS CFP, Business Owner and North Carolina A&T State University Aggie stops by to discuss his new book, "The Evolution of Skating" Live, Love, SK8 to Tell, by Amirah Palmer.Discussing life lessons and how skating and the skating world still influences those who enjoy the lifestyle and skating. Mr. Reggie Perkins, as the father of two sons (Reggie Jr. and Jordan) who both attended college on basketball scholarships drops in to talk about the game.  As a youth coach and mentor to players from across the Southeast, Mr. Perkins discusses the ins and outs of preparing student athletes about the game and beyond. From the perspective of a parent and coach, Mr Perkins discusses youth basketball and how parents and guardians should prepare for the realities that lie ahead.  Along with his wife Lisa Perkins, they raised student athletes who achieved both on the court, in class and are preparing for life. 

Wayne Turnage is the Deputy Mayor for the District of Columbia Health and Human Services (DMHHS) and the Director of the District of Columbia Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF).  We spend some time discussing his current work as Deputy Mayor of the District of Columbia,  his upbringing in Richmond, Virginia and his work in politics in a two part podcast.  A graduate of North Carolina A&T State University from Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Turnage went on to earn a Master of Public Administration degree from Ohio State and has had a long distinguished career in the area of policy and politics and was awarded the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award for Career Achievement for his work in public policy and politics from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs from The Ohio State University.  An Outstanding athlete, Mr. Turmage was also inducted into the Richmond Public School Hall of Fame in both Baseball and Football and was a 4 yr. baseball starter at North Carolina A&T State.  We spend a some time speaking with a leader in front of and behind the scene.   https://youtu.be/HP82rD_waNk.
