https://heysammi.com/coaches Coaches don't lose parents because they “don't care.” They lose them because families are drowning in platforms, notifications, and logins. This episode breaks down the real reason team apps stop working by mid-season—and why Sammi was built around the one thing parents always read: text messages. Sammi is designed to handle roster, schedules, payments, and parent communication entirely through SMS, with no downloads and no logins. You post the schedule… and still get “What time is practice?” You update the app… and end up texting anyway You request RSVPs… and they show up late or not at all Parents say “I didn't see it” and they're not lying—your message got buried This isn't a “parent problem.” It's an attention problem. Most sports families are managing multiple sports, multiple teams, plus league and tournament info across different platforms. Notifications get muted, apps get buried, and parents default to whatever is already open on their phone: text. Sammi's entire “no app” idea is built around this reality: “parents do not want another app” and coaches end up texting anyway. Sammi isn't a “better app.” It's a team assistant by text. For coaches: Text Sammi what you need (schedule changes, reminders, RSVPs, payments) and she does the admin work. For parents: They receive a text, reply to a text, and their calendars stay synced (Google, Outlook, iCal). Key promise: “Coach more. Manage less. Download nothing.” Already required to use TeamSnap, SportsEngine, or something else? Sammi can work alongside your current platform and handle communication, calendars, and reminders automatically—so you get the upgrade without migrating everything. Fewer “Where do I find the schedule?” messages Less chasing payments and RSVPs manually Fewer late arrivals and fewer missed updates (because texts get read) More coaching energy—less admin exhaustion Sammi is launching Summer 2026, and coaches can join early to lock in founding coach pricing and get free during beta access. If you want better parent communication immediately: Time-sensitive info should be texted, not “posted” Send one clean weekly “Sunday night” message: schedule + changes + reminders When something changes, message it in one sentence: what / when / where If you want to see how it works for coaches and get early access:https://heysammi.com/coaches Learn more about your ad choices. We're headed to one of the most legendary small rooms in the country to chat with this episode's guest, Megan Loveless, Talent Buyer for The Blue Room at Third Man Records – the independent record label in Nashville run by Jack White. Megan tells us all about the venue, which previously had been used for underplays, photoshoots, and special experiences, but in 2021 was rebranded as a full venue to host a wide range of events weekly. From its literal blue walls that give it its name to the lathe room that houses a 1955 Scully lathe which allows them to record select shows direct to acetate – The Blue Room is a truly unique venue. Hear what goes into curating their calendar and how Megan balances booking touring and local acts along with other types of community events. We learn about her history growing up in a small town with a love for Nirvana and Sub Pop Records which led to her attending MTSU for Music Business and internships at a small label and Third Man Records. Myles Amine was born into a family of wrestling champions. But once he forgot about his family's legacy, he unlocked his own potential to achieve greatness while continuing to surround himself with mentors. By learning from mistakes and focusing on the process, his intentional training has led to more successes than those around him. He is a 5X NCAA All-American, 2X Big Ten Champion, 2022 European Champion, 2X Olympian and 2020 Olympic Bronze Medalist. Myles shares that we are often surrounded by exceptional people that make mediocre decisions but to raise the standard, champions need to go places that most people won't go and always aim to be the best at whatever they do physically and mentally. His mindset has led to greatness off the mat earning an MBA from Ross School of Business and a Masters in Sports Management at University of Michigan. As he transitions out of competitive athletics and becomes an amateur again, he knows as long as he sets the bar high, he will find a way to get there again. @mylesamine, @earningearth

On our latest adventure we chat with Ritesh Patel, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Ticket Fairy, an advanced AI-native vertical SaaS platform built specifically for the live entertainment industry. Similar to the show How It's Made, we talk with Ritesh about what Ticket Fairy is and how it was turned into what it is today, such as: thinking of the concept, coding and developing, testing it on his own gigs, beta testing with his friends, pitching and selling investors, scaling the business and product, and continuing to enhance and grow the platform's capabilities. It's a fascinating look into an interesting industry platform and what goes into building a business. Additionally, Ritesh is the creator of LOCUS, which he originally started to promote shows in 2000 and revived in 2022 into what is now two multi-day annual festivals in Tulum and Bali. We talk through both events and how they allow him to continue to follow his passion for being a promoter, which was incubated by falling in love with the rave scene while in college in Bristol. Enjoy this interesting, educational episode that is steeped in a love for live events and exploring ways to make things easier for those that put them on.Ritesh Patel: Instagram | X/Twitter | LinkedInTicket Fairy: Facebook | Instagram | X/Twitter ––––––ADVENTURES IN VENUELANDFollow on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, or X/TwitterLearn more about Event & Venue Marketing ConferenceMeet our team:Paul Hooper | Co-host, Booking, Branding & MarketingDave Redelberger | Co-host & Guest ResearchMegan Ebeck | Marketing, Design & Digital AdvertisingSamantha Marker | Marketing, Copywriting & PublicityCamille Faulkner | Audio Editing & MixingHave a suggestion for a guest or bonus episode?
