This week Andrew talks with Marion Jones. In 2000, Marion became the first woman to win five track and field medals at a single Olympics — when she won 3 gold medals & 2 bronze medals at the summer games in Sydney, Australia. Then, in 2007 Marion's world came crashing down. She confessed that she had lied to federal investigators when, a few years prior, she denied using Performance-Enhancing Drugs. Marion was sentenced to six months in prison and the International Olympic Committee vacated all of her Olympic medals & performances. In this conversation, Marion talks candidly about her life & career — and many of the difficult lessons she's learned along the way. This episode is a powerful reminder about the ripple effects of decisions, the journey of redemption, & that we are all capable of overcoming our biggest mistakes. ** Follow Andrew **Instagram: @AndrewMoses123Twitter/X: @andrewhmosesSign up for e-mails to keep up with the podcast at everybodypullsthetarp.com/newsletterDISCLAIMER: This podcast is solely for educational & entertainment purposes. Lewis has returned from some shows performed at his Alma Mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Is it part nostalgia trip, or perhaps more an acid flashback. But while Lewis had all the intentions about talking about performing at his college but he got distracted by the news of the week where people are going to have to tighten their belts as both dolls and pencils are going to become sparse as there's a chance AI is picking the new Pope? That doesn't seem odd, right? Oh and now there's news of an expensive military parade, which we hear is a cost-cutting measure. Alright, what's going on? This week Andrew talks with University of North Carolina Field Hockey Head Coach Erin Matson. Erin's story is unlike any you've ever heard before. In January 2023, UNC named Erin its field hockey head coach. At the time, she was just 22 years old — and it was just 2 months following her graduation as a student from UNC. Suddenly, she was the head coach for the same program she had just finished starring in as a student athlete. In her first year as a head coach, she went on to lead UNC to a national title — becoming the youngest D1 college head coach to win a national championship. This week, the US Supreme Court struck down the use of Affirmative Action in higher education, in one of the most widely watched cases of the summer. As part of his television reporting, Trymaine Lee had a conversation with professor Cara McClellan of the University of Pennsylvania's law school in the lead up to the decision. They talked about the history of this policy, as well as the stakes of losing it. And we wanted to share the conversation with you here on the pod as well. Charlie was live from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte just days before the election, on the last stop of TPUSA's LIVE Free campus tour complete with Q&A. Charlie begins his speech by discussing the harmful effects of censorship on the American public and political discourse and previews, very presciently in retrospect, the impact Elon Musk was about to have on Twitter, the incubator of elite thought. Charlie's commentary has proved all too true in the days since. Charlie then goes into a discussion of how conservatives should approach the issue of race, attacks from the media, and more. Followed by a fiery Q&A, this is a can't-miss, vintage Charlie Kirk campus episode. Support the show: http://www.charliekirk.com/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
