POPULARITY
Antwoorden vinden wij o. a. in het kerkelijk document ‘Antiqua et nova'.
We begin, once more, inside Raidion…This week, we're deep in it. Blighted, bruised, and still somehow standing. We kick things off with yet another reminder that balancing fights for this party is…a challenge to say the least (Sorry, Harry). When your main damage dealer misses every hit and the enemy still drops? That's tricky, to say the least.Ben unpacks Raidion's fearlessness, his willingness to throw himself in the line of fire (blight and all), and how that ties into deeper themes of mortality and purpose. Meanwhile, Aoife dives into Dolly's mindset, and why going after Kelnys wasn't just emotional, it was necessary. But with doubts creeping in, is she starting to unravel? We also dig into the strange, symbiotic relationship between Parvus and Themself. Is Parvus the anti-Antiqua? We talk divine fallout, cosmic expectations, and the tension brewing between him and the rest of the old gods' chosen. And what's the deal with those underground groves? Flowers. Trees. Lush green life where there shouldn't be any. Was Themself behind it? Who designed these caves, and why?Harry gives us a peek behind the curtain into his vision for the various Kobold tribes and how he and Alex imagined the architecture of I's tunnels. We also explore what it means to run Parvus as a DMPC, and how that character balances between being part of the story and shaping it from within.Let's just say the caves aren't the only things layered.

Lily(3:13):All right. So here I'm in Guatemala in the school that I'm studying. The name of the school is called Corazón Maya. And I'm having a fantastic time, and yesterday I discovered a guy that I would really want to introduce you to. I think he's a little bit crazy but I think his stories are also very inspiring. So I would like to bring him on this show. And so Philip, how did we meet? Philip:Hello! So how we met? So in this school, Corazón Maya we had an event Saturday night where the staff actually was cooking us some food for the dinner. And we had couple of beers, little event like this. And that's how we met. Lily:It's incredible. You're traveling with the drone? Philip:Yeah, with the drone, actually. That's how we got to speak it to each other. So I was I'm in this school currently to produce some content photos and videos and I was playing my drone around the place, crush my drone in the tree to clime the tree . Anyway, so then the children saw me having fun with my drone and they really, really wanted to try the drone. So I said to the children, okay, you want to play with the drone? Let's get the drone and we will play with the drone. So we went to the next to the swimming pool and yeah, very good idea to try a drone in front of the swimming pool. But anyway, so I do the drone with the children and we just started playing around with it. Lily:Yeah, yeah. That's why I wanted to talk to you. I find it really nice of you to interact with the locals and with the children and show them how to record with your drone. Yes, that was really lovely. And then I saw the video and then, so I decided to just talk to you more. And then how long have you been here? Philip:So I've been in Guatemala, you mean, or in the school? Lily:In Guatemala. Philip:In Guatemala. About four days I think. I'm not sure about something like this. Lily:Yeah, four days only. Yeah. So only in San Pedro. San Pedro。Philip:Yes. So I arrived in from San Cristóbol in Mexico to Panajachel, which is the other side of the lake. And the next day I got on a boat and I got in San Pedro. I knew about the textiles, the chocolate factory and all these local factories and workshops or whatever you want to call them. And I thought, what about going to San Pedro for a few days? I worked for two days at the start, and on the second day I met some very nice Belgium people…A couple… Lily:A couple, my classmates. Philip:Yes, your classmates. Exactly. And they told me about the school, and I just went to the school. So it's been about four days here, I think. Lily:Wow, amazing. So I have been here for already two months, so I have three weeks more. Philip:You are local now? . Lily:Can you say that? Oh, I don't know. But I was in Antiqua for two weeks and then I arrived in San Pedro with the goal of improving my Spanish because I was living in Spain and I started to learn Spanish six years ago when I first came to Guatemala. And I was beginning to be interested in it, and I was just like, oh, one day I would love to come here and learn Spanish. And so here I am learning Spanish for already two months. And then my Spanish has improved a lot. Lily:Yeah. So how is everything so far for you? I know that you and I both are very similar. We have traveled for five months already. I started from Iceland. I was there for three months, and then here now it's five months in total. So how is this so far for you? Five months. Philip:So the trip has been actually very long and very short at the same time. So very long because five months doesn't go in a night blink, but at the same time it goes very fast when you enjoy it and when you are very busy doing things. So to recap, the itinerary that I've been through was Peru, Bolivia, Equator, Columbia, and then I flew to Los Angeles, this to go down with a motorbike bike. And then the motorbike now is in the process of being repaired in Mexico in St. Cristóbol. How it's been in five month? What can I say? I would say that a lot of learning experience, life learning experience. I learned how to travel with people. I learned how to work with people in my field, which is making content audio, visual content. And I also learned how to ride a motorbike and how to travel on my own. And what I would say that right now I'm in a very good phase of learning how to travel on my own, which was a very tough thing to learn when I was on the motorbike. So I'm happy now to be here for some time and then hit theroad again. But that's how it's been in the very main point so far. Lily:So do you have an end date that you are going back home? Philip:Yes. So I think end date, yes and no. I have a basic idea. It would be around the 20th of February, I think.Yeah. I don't have my ticket yet. I have to cancel my one from Peru to put it in Colombia有,也可以说没有。 Lily:Yeah. That's the life of the traveler. Philip:Yes, it is. Yeah. Lily:Indeed. Okay. So as for me, I think it's been amazing. But in Iceland I was just really completely in this vacation mode. And then Have you been to Iceland? Philip:Never. Lily:Okay. Never or would never. Philip:No, I've never put a foot in Iceland. Yeah. But I would love to go to Iceland. Yeah. I said never. Have you been to Iceland? No, I haven't. I have never been there. But would I like to go there? Yes. I would love to go there! Lily:There. Yeah. That's why I want to you to clarify! Because it sounds like never, it's like, oh, I would never… Philip:I realized! Lily:. But anyways I had an amazing time there. I was doing volunteer work and I was living with four different families. I was a babysitter. I was a cook. I a book register, kind of like a librarian. Philip:This is diverse . Lily:And then I was a gardener. Okay. And I was having so much fun because the people there, they were really nice to me. And then they give me a private room, private bath, and then they take me out to dinners. They basically feed me. Nice. I did a little bit work in the day, but basically I was on vacation more. I hardly do any work. But now I'm in Guatemala, I have a lot of challenges. You can't believe I have well, I have a business online, but because I didn't really take care of my business, I lost 70,000 subscribers. And then when I come我还是园丁呢。 Lily:Not the listeners, but I lost that newsletter subscribers. It's basically how I make money. I publish the content and then sometimes I publish the course and people buy from that newsletter subscription. And I was just devastated. But I also just registered my business in Europe. So I got the e-residency from Estonia. And then so I'm now qualified to register company in Estonia. So I have that. So basically it means I have to start from scratch. So I was panicking a little bit, and then the school changed my teacher and I was super unhappy because I loved my teacher. I had a really good time with her. And then my Spanish was improving. They changed her. And then I had problem with the family. So I move house. Okay. I changed school and I went to another school. So because changing the house is too far for me to commute. So I changed to this school. And then the first teacher, I had some issues with her don't think we fit very well. So I change a teacher again. So it's just like, oh my god, I don't like these changes. Philip:Are you better now though? Lily:I'm better in a better place. And on top of that, also break up with my boyfriend. And so I was just like, oh, so much. But this is life, right? Nobody likes the changes. So I was in the kind of low point, but I also feel like, oh, I really grow a lot. I also know how to be happy very fast, recover very fast now, since you probably heard a little bit about my stories, but I think those difficulties just make you stronger. Make you have a tougher skin. Yeah. Yeah. But apart from that, this show is totally about motivating people to step out of their comfort zone, maybe to travel more to see the world and or study a new language. And then yesterday I heard you speaking Spanish. I was really surprised you are very fluent in Spanish. And how many languages are you speaking now? Philip:So I speak four languages, which are my mother tongue French. Then my father tongue English. Yeah, I'm half British, half French and half Swiss. Lily:Messed up. . Philip:Yeah. Yeah. And then I learned German too. Oh, German, you have to learn German. So I learned German and then I speak Spanish. What I would say though is that in terms of how good I am in language, bilingual French, English, and Spanish for me too believe because I can speak in every way I can with anyone I am without any problem. German is a bit more difficult. I can speak and understand it. I think I just did better than I speak actually. Lily:Listening is better. Philip:Eventually, I don't even know because I'm able to express myself in pretty much anything I want almost. But I almost not completely . So is to me a lot of improvements. I think if we want to speak about levels from A1 to C1 one, the academic levels, I'm between B1 and B2 in German, I feel I'm pretty good. Yeah, it's okay for German. Lily:Probably in English said that you can probably get by a lot of things speaking German. Philip:Yeah, for sure. Yeah. It's always a difficult time to reconnect with German and to remember the words. It's a language that you have to learn by heart. There is no guess in Spanish. You can guess the words from French. In German, you cannot do this. So you have to learn my heart. And when I speak German, I even wonder how I do to know these words. I'm like, where did I learn this? It's a tough language to learn for me, but a beautiful language. When you speak it well, when it's well spoken,是啊,学德语要去联结新的单词好困难样,是一个你必须要强记的语言,用西班牙语也没有办法猜,像西班牙语我还可以用我的法语来猜单词的意思,但是德语完全不行。 Lily:Very good. Yes. For me, I speak Mandarin. Mandarin is my mother tongue. Yes, my first language. And then I study English when I was young. And then now I can pretty confidently express myself in English. And then I started studying Spanish Six years ago. When I first came to Guatemala, I spoke nothing. But now I'm able to express myself. Not very fluent. I wouldn't say that. I think probably in another two months of study that I would be a lot better. But I really like speaking another language. And I think in San Pedro in Guatemala speaking Spanish is actually really helpful for the travels. Philip:Do you find that's not only here? The whole Central American and South American continents it's really helpful to speak Spanish. There are always some people that are more international that can speak English which is why the stranger, a lot of them speak English with the locals. But most of the locals don't speak English. Lily:Exactly. That's what I find as well. It's so funny that I have a couple of American friends, they were here and then they think that my Spanish is good because I can understand really. Philip:Your Spanish is good. Your Spanish is good. I heard you speaking Spanish. Your Spanish is good. Yeah, And for someone who says my English is okay, to what you just said before, having a podcast in English is quite admirable. Lily:Thank you. So my point is, it's just like my American friends, they were here and then they speak really little Spanish . And then all the time they were thinking people are trying to rip them off. But basically it's because they don't speak it so they don't communicate. And then they probably would get that impression for them to buy tickets to the destination. And then they would think, oh, they're charging me a lot more. But it's actually probably not true. It's just like the misunderstanding. So for me that I'm just so grateful that I know the language here. Philip:You have to know the language and the costumes. Because it depends on every place pretty much. And you have to ask the locals, how much do you have to, should I pay with to go from a place to another with the ticket, whatever these water taxis. So it always depends. It's always about asking the people people that you trust from the hostel or from friends or whatever, asks people and then how to negotiate. Lily:Very good. Okay. Thank you. Philip:Yeah, .

A lot to unpack in this episode, Conor Delanbanque of Good Guys Racing talks about his youth growing up as a mixed race kid living in England before coming to the US. He tells us about what it's like to race on the islands and helps convince us that we should all give it a shot. And he also helps start the conversation that will occupy so much of 2021, which is whether to race our bikes while Covid is still a huge threat to our society. He's made the decision to race and tells us about that thought process.

In this episode, the guys get back to their regularly scheduled programming. Nico takes us back to a time when typefaces were a symbol of nationalism, and Chad talks about why its a good idea not to run a scam related to the CIA. Credit: Central Intelligence Agency https://www.cia.gov/Typefaces aren't just related to art and advertising, they also have a long history with politics. Think of Fraktur. Fraktur is a gothic font. It's also calligraphic meaning that rather than just being gothic it has a handwritten quality to it that makes it somehow both curvy and pointy at the same time. Fraktur arose in the 16th century and remained popular until the 18th century, at which point many European countries moved away from Fraktur in favor of the much easier to read Antiqua typeface (for example Times New Roman is technically Antiqua in style). Germany viewed Antiqua as a symbol of the classicist age and emerging cosmopolitanism in most of the European countries that had previously used Fraktur. The Antiqua-Fraktur Dispute was such a big deal that two centuries later, it has its own Wikipedia page. The Fraktur typefaces remained in use in Nazi Germany, and was represented as “true German script.” In fact, during World War II, German presses were “urged” to only use “German script,” meaning Fraktur. “Urged” because the Fraktur font was heavily associated with Nazi Germany. This association was partly, if not largely, because of the Bauhaus. The Bauhaus is a German art school founded by German architect Walter Gropius after World War I in 1919. Bauhaus was founded on principles of how design could be used to serve people and transform society. The Bauhaus School led to the first concrete foundations of modern design. Additionally, its influence was not only limited to Germany. The revolutionary art movement not only helped create what is now known as modern design but shaped cityscapes and entire urban centers elsewhere in the world. The nationalist movement that soon developed into Nazi ideology in Germany considered Bauhaus to be a rejection of traditional German values. On January 3, 1941, the Nazi Party ended this controversy by declaring Fraktur to be Judenlettern (Jewish letters) before prohibiting it and switching to Antiqua. German historian Albert Kapr has speculated that the regime viewed the hard-to-look-at-let-alone-read Fraktur as inhibiting communication in the occupied territories during World War II. War took precedence over having a “German” font. What's Up With The Art History Lesson? Today, when we see illegible fonts in advertisements, it's considered a marketing fail. Which is essentially what happened with Germany. By insisting on using Fraktur for - give or take - four hundred years, as a metaphor you could say Germany turned themselves into a bad billboard. Whether you're a company or a country, the lesson here is to embrace art, marketing, and the place where those two overlap. On January 8th, 2021, the Central Intelligence Agency unveiled a new design for its website, CIA.gov. Not a big deal, right? Well… Apparently, it was.Or at least it was a big enough deal that the rebranding made news. Why? Same reason the Bauhaus did 100 years ago. Simply for breaking the status quo. CIA.gov abandoned the formal signifiers of government authority: dense bureaucratic text, link directories, declarative headers, nothing too fancy CIA.gov is now set against a stark black background, offset by dots and lines that form topographical contours. There's pops of red, bold, white font, and a clear design theme. In other words, the CIA seems to have discovered graphic design and modern art. There are subtle hallmarks of modern web design, like the site's animated scroll. The crisp lines and muted color palette suggest a minimalist branding strategy. Like with all things political, artistic, or both, the website has received a lot of mixed reactions. Online,

Strix Antiqua by Hamilton Perez. Narrated by J.S. Arquin. Featuring an afterword recorded by Hamilton Perez. I didn't want to go back into those woods. I didn't trust them, and I suppose they didn't trust me either. But deep down, I knew: I had to go. You can't just stay at home, whispering to God on bended knee when your little sister's been taken by a witch. Police combed through the forest during the day but didn't find anything. They wouldn't of course. A witch takes people when they're alone, not in groups, and then she hides away with her catch, tucked in the shadows of secrets and the heartbeat of mountains. That's where witches live. Hamilton Perez is an aspiring stay-at-home chef, but is primarily known for his published fiction and editing work. He's mastered a basic omelet, a passable stir fry, and has finally determined that 2 minutes and 22 seconds is the perfect time for microwaving popcorn.

Let’s bring some joy and color into our week with Courtney McLeod, the designer behind Right Meets Left Interiors. Known for her beautiful and fun yet sophisticated body of work, Courtney is a true pro at using color to create joy and personality in her clients' homes. She talks with us about taking risks in business and in design, ways that we can start to incorporate more color in our design, and how to use color in small spaces. What You’ll Hear On This Episode: Trials and triumphs about new art lighting up our homes, a doctor’s visit for the pup, and great solutions for those unorganized beach towels. How Courtney’s background of business and the finance industry mixes with her artistic side to create a perfect balance of mixing creativity with the analytical. Courtney’s process at Right Meets Left Design is all about listening to her clients and interpreting their desires and dreams into what is doable for their particular situation, taste, and budget. Color doesn’t always have to be loud, but it can be just as interesting when it is soft. Having a contrast of shapes creates an interesting and engaging space, so it’s not all about going all angular or all circular. Ways we can work with color, even if it intimidates us. Also, using color in small spaces and busting the myth that you can’t use bold color in a small space. Do what feels good for you when it comes to color and pieces that you love. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, or if you aren’t able to use it in your home just yet - you will one day! The inspiration behind Courtney’s super cute designs in both New Orleans and Antiqua. Fun and imaginative ideas for kids rooms that are interactive and great to stand the test of time including a comic book mural wall. Mentioned In This Episode: Melissa McGill Ballard Cabot Hook Sherwin Williams Dynamic Blue @rightmeetsleftinteriordesign Right Meets Left Interior Design Decorating Dilemma: The tile to the ceiling is one of our favorite tricks, so we are glad you did that, and your space already has incredible bones and structure! It looks like you already have an area for counter stools in the kitchen and a really great dining area, so maybe make the center section more of a seating area and snacking area. We would recommend a tight back bench so you don’t get the squishiness when you sit on it and you can have an upright feel. Check out our banquette sofas, and one that was skirted would add some softness with a classic dining table look. For a chandelier, something smaller and undersized that looked like a little jewel would be super cool. ____________________________________________________________________ Your pieces have great lines, and we do agree that the brown feels a bit heavy. The two head chairs with chartreuse cushions would be excellent as white, making the cushions pop even more. Check out the Ballard chair options here, If you do decide to go for print, pick a print where your accent color is that smallest color in that print. You will be surprised how the solid will pair with the print.

Welcome to the third and final episode from Antigua in the Caribbean. Here you can join us on a so-called Triflexcursion. It's a small startup company run by Mark and Giles. TRIFLEXCUSION We're going on a 2-hour biking, hiking and kayaking tour. First, we ride 15 minutes through St. John's to a beautiful beach, where we get into a kayak – two people in each – and paddle through a mangrove reserve for 30 minutes. Then we get back on our bikes and ride a further 10 minutes to Fort James National Park. But before we go up there, we make a rest stop at the beach. I MET MISS ANTIGUA Here on the beach, there's a small restaurant in a shed. When I enter, there's an older woman with the back to me. She's singing, and I see her being on the phone. Somebody tells me that she's live on the local radio right now on a program is called "The Shut-in Show" – and that this is something she does every Sunday. Her name is Yvonne, and after she hangs up, I chat to her. She shows me a small picture of herself in an old book. The text beside the picture reads: "Former model turned restaurateur. Yvonne "Candy" Pilgrim has run the Candy Lane beach bar and restaurant since 1976. Located near the historic Fort James, the venue is popular with locals and tourists alike." She tells me that she was Miss Antigua in 1967. FORT JAMES WITH CANONS AND A DISCOTEQUE IN RUINS We finish the Triflexcursion up a hill at historical Fort James. It's a place where there are some old canons and a house that some years ago it was used as a discotheque. Now it's abandoned and in ruins. But an exciting place with a great view. And that was all from my fantastic trip to Antiqua. LISTENER RESPONSE I received an email from Daniel, a listener in Dubai: Hi Palle, I have just been listening on my earphones while out on my morning run. It was the Conakry Podcast, so the background traffic noises had me looking over my shoulder thinking it was errant motorcycle or taxi! Your podcasts are quite addictive and a great way to get a dose of vitamin 'travel' in between the two long stretches of the real thing for me. If you're ever in Dubai again let me know. I have met up with many , including Torbjørn Pedersen and Ric Gazarian on their travels passing through the city. Looking forward to your adventures around the world to come. Cheers, Daniel Whitfield Thank you, Daniel. I'll be coming to Dubai in December, so I hope I'll see you then. Daniel mentions Torbjørn Petersen and Ric Gazarion. Tor is an amazing traveler. A Dane who is traveling to every country in the world without flying in one single unbroken journey. You can follow his project on onceuponasaga.dk. And Ric is also a good friend of mine. We've met so far in three different continents. In fact, I met him in London just a few weeks ago. He does a podcast called Counting Countries - where I was a guest recently. He also does another podcast called The Nomad Mania Podcast, where he interviews some of the worlds most extreme travelers. Nomad Mania is a website that divides the world into regions. It's founded by the man that arguably has been to most places in the world, Harry Mitsidis. I guy I also met in London recently for a chat – and that's going to be the next interview here on The Radio Vagabond. Ric Gazarian has also been on The Radio Vagabond when I met him in Chicago. I called that episode: "Gaz is Global Country Counter." All the links are below. If you also want to drop me a line and tell me where you are and what you're doing right now, please use this special email address for this: listener@theradiovagabond.com You can also send me a voice message on WhatsApp. The number is +4540105105. NEXT: BACK IN AFRICA The episodes from Antigua was a bit of a detour from my journey. And in the next episode, we're back on track with my adventures in Africa. When I left you, I was in Conakry and about to leave western Africa after having visited Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, and Guinea. Traveling through these countries over three months was exciting, an adventure and very rewarding with all the exotic places and interesting people I met. I made so many interesting people, and both made a lot of friends. It was exciting but also rough. Physically and mentally challenges, especially when going from one place to another overland in small beat-up crammed minibusses or shared taxies on bad roads. So after three months, I decided that I wanted to get down to Cape Town, which has a very special place in my heart. I'll spend two months in Cape Town, my longest stop on the trip so far. But I still carry my microphone everywhere, so I have so many recordings that I'm going to be sorting through and sharing with you in several episodes. To name a few things: There's going to be a full episode only with Cape Town Uber drivers. I find out that Cape Town is the gin capital of the world and I speak to the young owner of one of the many a small distilleries. I go searching for Sugar – the owner of a legendary small vinyl store and the guy who found Rodrigues in the Oscar Winning documentary Searching for Sugarman. If you haven't seen this film yet, I suggest that you do before you listen to my episode with Sugar Segerman from Cape Town. After Cape Town, I rent a car and go on a road trip through the country. I drive on the Garden Route and make stops in many amazing places in South Africa. Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Port Elizabeth, Durban where I do the worlds highest swing over their football stadium, St Lucia where Hippos are roaming around in the streets at night. I also go to Lesotho, Swaziland, and Mozambique before spending a few days driving around in Kruger National Park looking for The Big Five and end up in Pretoria and Johannesburg. But before that, I need to get down to Cape Town from Conakry in Guinea, and I had a bit of luck as to how to do that. I found a flight with Ethiopian Air that allowed me to have a small stopover in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. And this is where you'll find me in the next episode. Even though my stop was short, a lot of stuff happened here. I end up in the middle of a parade during their most religious event of the year. I made some new friends, I thought. Instead, I end up getting scammed. I promise you that I will share both my ups and downs from this trip. So I will also be brutally honest and share what went through my mind when I think I'm going to die and I have somewhat of a mental breakdown when I think I only had a few more months to live. That's when The Radio Vagabond continues in a few weeks. Produced by Radioguru.co.uk. My name is Palle Bo, and I gotta keep moving. See you. DISCLAIMER: The trip to Antigua was made possible by Antigua and Barbuda Tourism and Elite Island Resorts, but even though it was a sponsored trip, everything I've said is my genuine opinion. On this episode of the world famous Sofa King Podcast, we look at the mass killings committed by (and the conspiracy theories about) the two people known as the Beltway Snipers in Washington DC. The year was 2002, and the nation was still reeling from the horrors of 9/11 when two men named John Muhammad (41) and Lee Malvo (17) started a reign of terror in the DC area, killing 17 people out of the back of their 1990 Chevrolet Caprice. Though many people think they were just serving up a bowl full of crazy, others think it was a false flag event, and you know what, even William Shatner gets involved! So, to get to the Beltway Sniper killings, it’s important to start with the killers themselves. John Muhamad (formerly John Williams) was an army veteran with high marksman skills. He’d been married a couple times and once out of the army, ended up getting a divorce. His wife filed a restraining order based on his threats, and he went a little nutso and kidnapped their shared children. He ran to Antiqua, like you do, and he met the young Lee Malvo. Malvo was born in Jamaica and spent some years in the Caribbean with various family members. Eventually, he came to the US illegally, and after getting detained and set free, he and his mom lived in a homeless shelter where Muhammed eventually moved as well. The two Beltway Snipers became fast friends, forming a father-son bond and training for what became their killing spree. Their killings didn’t start in DC, though. They started in Washington state and cut a path of death across the nation, from Arizona to Louisiana before they got to the DC area. Once there, they started to randomly kill people who were targets of opportunity, typically people coming in or out of a store or people at a gas station. The entire area was freaked out and didn’t even want to be on the streets (Dave included—he was there researching!). Eventually, they slipped up by taunting the cops on their tip line and gave them a clue that led to their identities being revealed. From there, it was a matter of time before the cops cornered them. But there is also where the conspiracy theorists take hold. When they were arrested, some people think there was a trigger word in a hypnotic suggestion to bring the two killers in. There are connections between the head investigator and Muhammad, and the ex-wife worked for the government. So, were the Beltway Snipers two sick puppies who got off on murder and wanted revenge for a wife who left, or were they part of a false flag event that led them across the nation killing people? Listen, laugh, learn. Conspiracy Theory Break Down: http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=27984 One Word--Shatner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pQ0ZR5Jkuc

DJ Red Alert is a member of the hip hop culture that is known for bringing the music to the people. He began his career as part of the Afrika Bambaataa's Zulu Nation and earned the reputation as a top notch DJ. At one point in the early 80's, Red Alert's equipment was stolen. Once he was able to get at new setup Bambaataa and other members of the Nation were moving to clubs in Manhattan. Red Alert continued to draw a following in Harlem.Red Alert channeled his energies and musical talent into two daily shows on the nations #1 radio station, New York's WQHT HOT 97.1 FM.He has received numerous awards and accolades including a special award at the first annual Rap Hall of Fame Awards show. The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from IMPACT music trade publication for 1998 and the 1997 Mix Show DJ of the year award from GAVIN. In addition DJ Red Alert was named one of the 50 most influential people in music by Rolling Stone magazine. Red Alert is also featured in an exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The only DJ of this era so honored! He has appeared in over 50 music videos.Red was reared by his maternal grandparents, who were from Antiqua. Red's love for those around-the-way basketball games led him to his high school team at DeWitt Clinton. No doubt this is where he was dubbed the nickname, “RED”; for his red hair and alert response on the court. Red later received a college basketball scholarship. During the last of his high school years, Red hung out at the Saturday night parties thrown by Kool Herc and Coke La Rock at clubs throughout the west Bronx. Red studied the style of music Kool Herc played and the way he blended the vinyl. On Fridays, Red found himself venturing downtown to check out star disco deejays, such as: Grandmaster Flash, Together Brothers, and Pete DJ Jones. It wasn't long before he was jammin' at parties on his own equipment. It was important to be up on what was happening on the New York scene, so Red was now attending legendary parties throughout the Bronx.Red caught Grandmaster Flash at the Back Door and the Dixie Club, Kool DJ A.J. at the Morehouse Center and Afrika Bambaataa at JHS 123. By this time, Red had gathered enough record selection and record spinning insight to teach his cousin DJ Jazzy Jay the basics of the art. Jazzy Jay in turn introduced Red to Bambaataa. Bambaataa taught Red about rock, reggae and new wave music. Learning about the various styles of dance oriented music, Red soon became the deejay for Bambaaata and his Zulu Nation, joining the likes of Afrika Islam, the Soul Sonic Force, Grandmixer DST and the Rock Steady Crew. Through this association, Red began to spin records downtown at such clubs as Negril and Danceteria. While deejaying at the Roxy, he met Barry Mayo, then program director of NY's WRKS 98.7 KISS FM. A man of considerable taste, Mayo hired Red to inaugurate the “Dance Mix Party.” Red remained at 98.7 KISS FM for 11 years, becoming the top DJ at the station. During his tenure at KISS, Red became the first individual to popularize dancehall music at a major radio station! Before you knew it, Red met up with producer Vincent Davis, of the Vintertainment Record label, through DJ Chuck Chillout, to produce Red's First record, “Hip Hop On Wax, Volume 2.” (Part 1 was made by DJ Chuck Chillout of the B-Boys and Part 3 was by DJ Born Supreme Allah).Another record was “He's My DJ (DJ Red Alert Goes Berserk)” which featured Sparky D on vocals and was released on NIA records produced by Spyder D.He also became a member of the Boogie Down Productions, touring the country with KRS One.Since then, Red has done super mixes for compilation albums on Next Plateau Records and Epic Records. Now a seasoned veteran as radio jock, club jock and studio man, Kool DJ Red Alert has established his place as one of the world's premier DJ's. To top it off Red Alert owns a production and management company, Red Alert Productions (RAP). The company garnered a reputation for developing and promoting new talent. RED is responsible for launching the career of such widely acclaimed acts as the Jungle Brothers, Tribe Called Quest, Black Sheep and Queen Latifah to name a few.In addition DJ Red Alert was the first to introduce numerous hit records including “Soul II Soul” by Jazzy B and “Hold On” by the group En Vogue!Red says, “You have to learn how to break a new artist on record by working it in and out with familiar records. People are scared to fall. It's OK to fall. You must learn how to fall and be strong so you can come back. A DJ is like the pied piper.”Since his break on the radio, Red Alert has had the opportunity to expand hip hop's audience as well as break the careers of Boogie Down Productions, Black Sheep, the Jungle Brothers, and A Tribe Called Quest. He has had cameos on countless albums, and has also released various compilation albums.Lately he has undergone some professional changes after leaving his radio show. Well all wait to see what he has in store for us next. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
