During our interview we got a glimpse into his early days and how he got started in the music industry. He revealed that his first love was actually basketball and he used to hoop with his childhood friend NBA legend Corey Maggette. He also shared an interesting story about one night when he and Maggette bumped into Chicago's legendary singer, songwriter, and producer, R. Kelly. It was during this encounter that R. Kelly planted the seed for Boo's rap career, as he had never had any experience in rapping before. Boo also spoke about witnessing the tail end of the process of R. Kelly's 1998 album, "R". He shared how he and his partner, Roy Hamilton became a duo known as the "Vegas Cats" and how they landed a spot on R. Kelly's "We Ride" track alongside Cam'ron, Nore, and Jay-Z.
