How do you raise children who fear the Lord in a culture that rejects Him?In this episode, Pastor Virgil Walker joins us to discuss what faithful, biblical parenting looks like today. Scripture places the responsibility of spiritual training squarely on parents—not the church or youth ministry. So what does that actually look like in everyday life?We talk about shaping a biblical worldview in a world of competing influences, building rhythms of discipleship in the home, and pursuing heart-level transformation rather than outward behavior. Pastor Virgil also offers encouragement for parents who feel overwhelmed raising children in an increasingly hostile culture.00:00 Welcome to the Sound Words Podcast03:42 The Goal of Biblical Parenting05:45 Practical Tips for Biblical Parenting08:06 Guarding Personal Time in the Word10:02 The Role of Youth Ministry12:04 Digital Media and Modern Influences17:19 Thinking Ethically About AI20:37 Just Thinking Podcast23:31 Discipline as an Opportunity for the Gospel25:05 Navigating Heart-Level Discipleship27:03 Shepherding Adult ChildrenLearn more about Redeemer Bible Church: https://www.redeemerbiblechurch.orgListen to Just Thinking Podcast: https://justthinking.meSound Words is a ministry of Indian Hills Community Church, a Bible teaching church in Lincoln, NE. Michael Sedrak presents a detailed discussion on raising God-fearing children rooted in Christian faith and practice. He emphasizes the importance of setting a clear spiritual goal focused on nurturing children who grow in the image of Christ and maintain the grace received in baptism. Michael explores essential parenting principles such as the impact of influences on children, the significance of prayer, the sign of the cross, and the role of Holy Communion in maintaining spiritual growth. He addresses the balance between discipline and warmth, urging parents to engage in one-on-one time with their children to foster trust and love. Michael highlights the crucial qualities of humility and discipleship in both parents and children as foundational for spiritual development and obedience. Drawing on Scripture and teachings from Eastern Church saints, Michael also discusses practical aspects of raising boys and girls, warns against hypocrisy and gossip, and encourages parents to cultivate a vibrant relationship with the Word of God, making it a natural part of family life. What does it mean to be "God fearing"? It used to be common to describe someone who was particularly devout as "God fearing," but that phrase is rarely used any more. But the Bible does call God's people to fear the Lord and promises good blessings for those who are God fearing. So what does it mean to fear God in the Bible?
Psalms 128 presents a divine promise of comprehensive blessing for the God-fearing family, centered on the spiritual leadership of the believing husband and father who fears the Lord and walks in obedience to His Word. The psalm outlines tangible blessings—prosperity in labor, a fruitful and devoted wife, flourishing children, and long life—rooted in godly household leadership that extends beyond the individual to bless the community and nation. While emphasizing the man's pivotal role in establishing spiritual integrity, the message also affirms the vital responsibilities of women in nurturing the home and raising children in godly discipline, all grounded in biblical principles of submission, faithfulness, and parental authority. The passage ultimately reveals that God's grace overcomes the consequences of sin, and that a life lived in reverential fear and radical obedience to God produces a ripple effect of peace, prosperity, and generational blessing, culminating in the vision of Zion's flourishing and the enduring peace of God's people.

I used to see "God-fearing" often referenced, especially in 2020 during heightened fear and stress in the world, and I'd wonder "why would you want to believe in a God you feel afraid of?"Little did I know, that's a beautiful thing. Years later I'm here to share why "God-fearing" is a power word for me and what you can do to rise above the focus of man and the fears of the world. Rosie’s birthday celebration was unforgettable. The food was tasty, the table banter was fun, and the presence of her first grandson was icing on the cake! These good things, however, paled in view of her two sons’ tributes to her. Though Rosie’s marriage didn’t last, her exceptional skills as a single mom marked her sons. Their accolades reflected how she did everything possible to provide for their needs. The younger son’s comment best captured Rosie’s posture before them: “She [is] a God-fearing woman.” In Proverbs 31:10-31 readers get to see what “fear-informed wisdom” looks like in the home. The fear of the Lord (v. 30), a humble reverence for God, compels one to be trustworthy (vv. 11-12) and hardworking and thrifty (vv. 13-19). And, while the wise woman possesses a “home first” attitude (vv. 21- 28), that doesn’t mean “home only.” Meeting needs of outsiders also gets attention (v. 20). As with Rosie, the lifestyles of God-fearing women don’t go unnoticed—especially among those who live with them (v. 28). It’s not surprising when those closest to them sing their praises. Want to be a God-fearing follower of Jesus? Why not ask God for His help? And don’t be surprised when those prayers are answered—even when challenged by the pressures and circumstances of life.

HI welcome to Christadelpian video.org The writer of 2 Samuel 18 records the battle which saw the inglorious end of Absalom, who sat on his Royal donkey, as he led his host to their destruction. David's forces were aided in their victory by nature as the record states: the wood devoured more that day than the sword. Joab, with relish, seized the chance to slay Absalom contrary to his king's specific orders. Joab gloried over David in the cruel way he communicated the crushing of Absalom and his host to David. No doubt this was also an endeavour not only to crush David, but also an attempt to get back at his uncle who had so often thwarted Joab. David was devastated and sat in the gate to publicly lament Absalom's demise. The nation was perplexed as this act seemed to show contempt for those who had just saved their king. Joab's only redeeming act in this record is to remonstrate with David to prevent the disaster from developing,Jeremiah 22:2-4 commences with conditions which had to be met if the nation was to remain in God's land. Then follow the consequences for failure in verses 5-10. This is followed by warnings against Josiah's sons - verses 11-12 against Jehoahaz, who is also known as Shallum; verses 13-19 against Jehoiakim, who is also known as Eliakim; verses 24-30 against Jehoiachin, who is also known as Jeconiah and also as Coniah. It was Jehoiakim who was directed to the lesson of his father, that to know Yahweh was to act like Yahweh. Jehoiachin was told that his occupation of Judah's throne was dependent on his acting as a Godfearing and just king. Pause and contemplate the personal lessons from verses 15-16 in particular. From verses 17-22 we read of the contrary current culture seen in Jeconiah's life, which mirrored Judah's self centred behaviour, and was denounced by the nation's Sovereign. A particular contempt was to be pronounced against Coniah, an appellation for Jeconiah, whereby our Sovereign detached any connection with that contemptible king by truncating Jeconiah's name by a symbolic gesture in the partial removing of God's name of Yah - Je - a portion of it still remained in the "iah". God's name can never be erased: Isaiah 56:4-5; Acts 8:31-38. Jeconiah was to be removed from the lineage of our Lord Jesus Christ by the Almighty. In Romans 9 Paul explains his frustration at his nation's failure to grasp the glory God was offering his people. The Apostle shows from Scripture that this failure was foretold and follows a persistent pattern of behaviour demonstrated by Israel. Nonetheless the Almighty's sovereign selection would stand upon the principles of the Divine grace and mercy, not because of any effort or merit on the part of any individual within the Chosen People. The Scriptures stand true and the restoration of the former people of God's choosing would be by His actions through which anyone to be saved could on one basis alone - by faith in the foundation stone the Father set in Zion (Isaiah 28 verse 16) His beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.More here https://christadelphianvideo.org/christadelphian-daily-readings/
After several more Thug Mob incidents in this country, it's time to start demanding some accountability. The amount of people, especially in leadership roles, that are condoning and even encouraging this BS behavior should be taken to task! When this show started it was based on giving Zero fucks, offering Zero apologies and having Zero guilt about my thoughts, opinions, or ethnicity … And almost 5 years later, it's still the same The Anti White, Anti Conservative movement driven by Thugs, Liberals and the Left in general is past the point of reconciliation. Daily Halacha Podcast - Daily Halacha By Rabbi Eli J. Mansour
The Shulchan Aruch Rules (OC:9) rules that one should check the strings of his Sisit each day to assure that none of the stings are torn, and prevent one from making a Beracha L'vatala (reciting a Beracha in vain). At first glance, this seems to be a mandatory Halachic requirement. However, upon examining the source of this Halacha, the Rosh (Rabbenu Asher Ben Yehiel, 1250-1327), it become clear that from the letter of the law, one may rely on the Chazaka (Status Quo) that the Sisit continue to be kosher, unless there is reason to suspect otherwise. He says that those who are "God Fearing" check their strings just to be sure. While there are those who argue that one may not rely on the Chazaka, because strings tend to break, the Aruch Hashulhan (Rav Yechiel Michel Epstein of Nevarduk, 1829-1908) strongly disagrees. He says that if that would be the case, there would never be a Halachic "Chazaka of living," since people always eventually die. Therefore, Hacham Ovadia, in Ye'haveh Da'at , rules that Maran did not intend that this Halacha is a bona fide obligation, but a nice practice to follow. He certainly would agree with the Mishna Berura(Rav Yisrael Meir Kagan of Radin, 1839-1933) that in the event that checking the strings would cause someone to miss the Minyan, he should not check them. That problem could be avoided if one would follows the advice of the Mishna Berura to check them at the end of Tefila, before putting them back in the bag, where they are protected. In any event, when checking the strings, the most important place to check is the hole of the Tallit where the fringes begin. If even one string is torn there, the whole Tallit is invalid, whereas if a string is torn in the fringes themselves, it is still possible that it is kosher. SUMMARY It Is not an absolute obligation to check the strings of the Sisit before donning the Tallit, although one who does so Tavo Alav Beracha (is praiseworthy).

What does it mean when a Christian describes someone as “God-fearing”? Is this a good thing? And what does it imply about their view of God, or human relationships with God, or the consequences of NOT being “God-fearing”? Dan explores these topics in this week's episode.
