In this week's episode, we'll be talking about a race of small humanoids, no taller than 18 inches, living in the mountains of Montana. They are known as the Little People of the Pryor Mountains. They can be helpful or downright vicious, some even saying cannibalistic. If you happen to come across one of them, be respectful and make an offering of food or gifts. If they accept it, they may leave, or help you, or impart great wisdom to you, but if they are not pleased, they may kill you. Listen in and decide if you believe they exist or not.If you have any comments, questions or stories you would like to share, or if you'd like to be on the show, email us at cryptidfanatic@gmail.com.Send a textSupport the show
If you've been feeling like you need someone to flip on a light switch in a dark room right about now, this episode is for you. And listen, I get it—February can be rough. All that January enthusiasm starts to fade, the Midwest winter is doing its thing (where did the sun go?), and suddenly that phone in your hand feels less like a tool and more like a stain you can't get out of your clothes (or out of your hand). So today, I'm offering what we all need: a little bit of hope. This is a cozy solo cast that's a deep dive into what I'm learning in real-time about habits and what they reinforce. The truth: I've been doom-scrolling between client sessions like it's my job, and my nervous system has some thoughts about that. We're talking about: How to gently take inventory of what you're consuming (media, food, habits, all of it) The homework my therapist gave me that changed how I show up in every relationship What you're actually responsible for (hint: it's less than you think) Why knowing your philosophy matters—whether you're a therapist, a parent, or just a human trying to navigate this wild world Plus, I'm giving you a sneak peek at two incredible interviews coming up this month with Cat Greenleaf (host of the Soberness podcast) and the one and only Ashlyn Thompson from the Parent Empowerment Network. If you need someone who makes heavy topics feel like a warm hug, Ashlyn is your person. She's basically the Ted Lasso of emotional work. KEY TAKEAWAYS "The things you repeat are what you reinforce." —James Clear, Atomic Habits This quote is the backbone of the episode. What are you repeating? Is it serving you? If not, what's one small shift you can make? You can't function for the responsibilities of your life if your nervous system is constantly firing. If you're feeling less Cinderella-with-birds-making-your-bed and more like you need to hide under the covers, it might be time to look at what you're consuming. Boundaries aren't just for other people—they're for what you let into your own mind and body. This is the work. What's yours to own? What's not? Getting clear on that changes everything. QUOTES THAT HIT "When you turn on a light in a dark space, the darkness isn't gone. But the darkness can't deny the light." "I wasn't clear on what I was actually responsible for. If I was responsible for their breakthroughs, then was I also responsible for what they didn't understand?" "Happiness can also look like having a lollipop for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—and then that creates a whole other issue." COMING UP THIS MONTH Cat Greenleaf from the Soberness podcast—talking celebrity sobriety, digital content, and constantly evolving Ashlyn Thompson from the Parent Empowerment Network—bringing the heart-centered wisdom with humor and warmth YOUR HOMEWORK (IF YOU WANT IT) Grab a journal, go for a walk, or just sit with these questions: What am I repeating? What is that reinforcing for me? Do I like what I'm reinforcing? If not, what's one subtle adjustment I can make? And if you need a place to process all of this? The Treasured Journal was made for exactly these moments. It's got prompts, sentence stems, and space for you to dig a little deeper with a little more safety and context. Link's in the show notes. Finding your purpose doesn't always come from thinking, sometimes it comes from showing up, serving, and connecting with others. In this final episode of the year, I'm sharing my recent trip to Kenya and how I became involved with the Little People of Africa Foundation — an experience that completely reshaped how I see purpose, service, and community.I was invited to help with structure and support, but what unfolded touched my heart far beyond anything administrative.I take you with me to Nairobi as we marched on Dwarf Awareness Day — more than 200 little people proudly carrying signs, chanting, singing, and standing for dignity, inclusion, and medical support. You'll hear about the government leaders who joined us, the unity in the streets, and the moment I realized tears were streaming down my face because the joy and empowerment were unforgettable.I also share the quieter moments like visiting a family farm, witnessing generosity and simplicity, spending time in nature, and reconnecting with peace, gratitude, and meaning. This journey invited me to reflect on service, compassion, connection, and what it truly means to say: we all matter. What You'll Learn:*❤️ Why finding purpose often begins through connection with others❤️ How serving your community restores belonging and emotional clarity❤️ Why serving others brings meaning when life feels heavy❤️ How to reconnect with yourself through compassion and shared humanity❤️ What walking in love teaches about purpose and peace❤️ How connection helps you rise above overwhelm and find clarity❤️ Why purpose is something you feel, not something you forceKey Moments 4:20 Finding purpose through serving your community 9:35 The Nairobi march and shared dignity 15:10 Finding purpose through connection and visibility 21:40 Simplicity, generosity, and happiness 28:05 Rest, reflection, and reconnecting with joy 34:30 Purpose of life through community and careServing others is not about having the answers or doing more. The Gateway Podcast – Don Yazzie – Hollow Earth Mysteries Date: December 9, 2025 Episode: 106 Discussion: Hollow Earth Mysteries About Don: Don Yazzie grew up in the Navajo Nation. He has always been curious about the supernatural, paranormal, and unexplained mysteries. Don has been a Bigfoot tracker for the past eight years and has worked with Jevning Research for three years alongside William Jevning. He is an experiencer of various events that would be considered high strangeness, including encounters with Yei'iitsoh (Sasquatch), the Goatman, and the Dogman, as well as multiple Skinwalker sightings. He has also witnessed a UFO and an extraterrestrial abduction. As a reservation investigator, his reports of a Lizard Man, Little People, and a Centaur would be deemed outrageous to most. He has also researched UFO bases, portals, the Rake, and underground tunnel systems believed to lead into Hollow Earth. Don feels that there is much more on the horizon waiting to be discovered. He hosts a new podcast called “Don't Whistle at Night Podcast” and is currently working on his upcoming book. The Dark Man and Others). A fisherman named Chris, deep in the Canadian wilderness, discovered a strange ring of footprints in the winter mud, including several impossibly small ones, far from anywhere a person could realistically be. In this chilling episode, Fred Alaska shares a series of unsettling experiences passed down from his First Nations friend, David, whose family cabin near Bristol Bay, Alaska became the site of strange and unexplainable events throughout the 1990s. Late-night disturbances in the snow, mysterious animal tracks that began and ended abruptly, and the haunting sensation of being watched deep in the Alaskan wilderness—all point toward something far beyond the ordinary. But David's encounters are only part of the mystery. Fred also explores the enduring legends of Alaska's “Little People”—elusive, otherworldly beings said to dwell in remote regions like the Johnson River and the Aleutian Mountains. Blending Native oral history, local folklore, and firsthand accounts, these stories reveal a hidden side of Alaska where myth and reality blur, and where ancient spirits may still roam among the mountains and tundra.Get Our FREE NewsletterGet Brian's Books Leave Us A VoicemailVisit Our WebsiteSupport Our SponsorsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.
Tonight's episode takes us deep into the heart of Appalachia, where ancient mountains remember everything—and some doors, once opened, can never be closed again. This is the chilling account of Michael, a man forever marked by his family's terrifying encounter with beings that shouldn't exist, but do. In the summer of 1995, fourteen-year-old Michael and his family left suburban Cleveland for a decaying farmhouse in rural West Virginia, hoping for a fresh start. What they found at Black Hollow Farm defied reason. The forest seemed alive with intent, and pale figures with glowing eyes watched from the shadows. What began as strange sounds and footprints soon spiraled into a nightmare of ancestral debt and otherworldly bargaining. Michael's first encounter with the Little People—the beings known to the Cherokee as the Yunwi Tsunsdi and to early settlers as the Moon-Eyed People—set in motion a chain of events that would unravel his family. These ancient, subterranean entities fed not on flesh but on human potential, their hunger stretching back thousands of years. As Michael uncovered his family's dark history—tied to a century-old massacre—he realized the debt could only be paid through sacrifice. His search for answers led to an isolated library, an old librarian guarding forbidden knowledge, and a final descent into the caverns beneath the mountains. There, Michael made a desperate bargain: seven years of his life, scattered across his remaining decades, in exchange for his family's safety. The cost bought their freedom—but bound him forever to the watchers in the dark. Today, Black Hollow Farm still stands, waiting for its next tenants, its next chapter.Michael's story is more than a haunting; it's a warning about the thin places in our world where realities blur, and ancient intelligences wait for us to forget the old protections.Because once you know the Little People are real—once you've seen their glowing eyes peering from the forest—you'll never walk through the Appalachians the same way again.

Don't Whistle at Night welcomes Thomas Sewid Date: October 26th, 2025 EP: 027 Topic: Kwakwaka'wakw Lore of the Bokwus - The Little People About Thomas Sewid ( Borrowed From Spirit Switchboard on UPRN) Thomas Sewid is fast becoming one of the most recognized Sasquatch investigators who shares his experiences with Sasquatch with many through his Facebook group Sasquatch Island. For decades Thomas lived in the bush throughout what is called The Broughton Archipelago off northeastern Vancouver Island British Columbia. An area rich in reports and sightings of Sasquatch or as his Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations (Indian) Tribe call them, Dzoonakwa. It's been Thomas's quest for many decades to educate people that there are two hair-covered bi-pedal creatures that the coastal First Nations have been sharing their worlds since the dawn of Creation. In doing so, he has seen and heard how people yearn for the North American perspectives, beliefs and encounter stories of Sasquatch present and historic. One of the unique qualities Thomas has over any other Sasquatch investigator and informer is he lived in the bush for decades and has spent a lifetime commercial fishing throughout the British Columbia coast. He has spent considerable time in isolated Indian villages hearing their stories about the Sasquatch. http://www.sasquatchisland.com http://www.sasquatchthelegend.com

Your sweet preschooler just turned into a pint-sized whirlwind—kicking, screaming, and even hitting. Before you panic or punish, listen in. Dr Justin and Kylie Coulson unpack why three-year-olds lash out, why it’s actually developmentally normal, and the calm, practical steps that help them (and you) find peace. Key Points Why hitting at age three is common—and not a sign you’re raising a violent teen. The real drivers: big emotions, low impulse control, limited language. Three core responses: stay regulated, set clear limits, redirect with movement or creative outlets. After the storm: empathic conversations and rehearsal for “next time.” Prevention tips: check the HALTS (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired, Stressed) and keep screen time low. Quote of the Episode “Regulating emotions is harder than learning to walk or tie shoelaces. Your job is to stay the adult while your child learns.” – Dr Justin Coulson Resources Mentioned Little People, Big Feelings [Webinar] – practical tools for parents of toddlers and preschoolers. Little People, Big Feelings [The Summit] Action Steps for Parents Stay calm—model the regulation you want your child to learn. State the boundary—“We have gentle hands. Hitting hurts.” Redirect energy—offer drawing, movement, or grounding games. Debrief later—when calm, problem-solve and rehearse next time. Check the basics—food, sleep, connection, and screen habits. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

His works are both entertaining and thought-provoking in both their composition and subject matter. To create light paintings, he uses long-exposure photography techniques under the darkness of night. And his ‘Little People' and ‘Toys' macro photography series depict captivating scenes using miniature people and items to tell stories and offer social commentaries. He has been recognized with awards at the British Photography Awards and earned a degree in Fine Art Photography from the Glasgow School of Art. He also shares his knowledge through workshops and e-books so other people can join in the fun too.On this episode, host Angela de Burger chats with David about his techniques for creating amazing designs in his light paintings, why he loves small scale storytelling, whether his creative process begins with a visual concept or a message he wants to share, and how he balances being so active in two different creative specialties. Why can’t kids just calm down? Here’s the truth: they’re not supposed to. Expecting children to manage their emotions alone is like expecting them to drive a car before they’ve learned to walk. In this episode, Justin and Kylie bust the biggest parenting myth about big feelings — and share 3 powerful, science-backed strategies you can use in the heat of the moment to help your child ride the emotional waves. KEY POINTS Kids’ brains are on “L-plates” when it comes to emotion regulation — it’s a developmental process. Big feelings are normal, not a sign of “bad behaviour.” Three strategies parents can use: Distraction – helps reset the nervous system. Co-regulation – lending your calm to your child. Pause problem-solving – wait until emotions settle before teaching or fixing. Parents often feel judged when meltdowns happen in public — but compassion (for ourselves and our kids) is the game-changer. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE “No one can think clearly in a fire drill — and that’s exactly what trying to reason with a child mid-meltdown is like.” RESOURCES MENTIONED Happy Families resources for parenting strategies & support Little People, Big Feelings Summit See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Grab a beer and join us tonight as we start our series on Mark David Chapman. Part 1 tracks Mark from a 1955 birth in Fort Worth through a tense home, rocking tics, and the “Little People” fantasy, into a teen slide—drugs, skipping school, a short runaway to Miami—followed by a 1971 born-again turn. We cover his YMCA work (the kids called him “Nemo”), his relationship with Jessica, Covenant College, cheating on his girlfriend and the guilt that sent him into depression, and a failed suicide attempt in Hawaii—where a passing fisherman woke him up. From there we follow the hospital stay, a steadier stretch, meeting and marrying Gloria Abe, and the jobs that didn't stick. By 1980, the debt is paid off but the mood swings get worse. Catcher in the Rye moves to the center, the Little People come back, and his anger at John Lennon grows—burned records, “bigger than Jesus,” and calling out “phonies.” We end with October 1980: the gun purchase, the “John Lennon” signature crossed out on his resignation, and flying to New York.
