Send us Fan MailDouble board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic specialist, Dr. Jacquiline Hakim, joins Skin Anarchy to explain what actually drives facial aging: bone loss, collagen decline, and the science of radiofrequency skin tightening, including why results take time and who to trust.Who is Dr. Jacquiline Hakim?A double board certified dermatologist and cosmetic specialist who leads Divina Dermatology in Beverly Hills. She frames aesthetics as a medical discipline first, not a trend. "It's still medicine. And I think that's such an important factor to hone in on," a lens that shapes her whole approach.Where does facial aging actually start?Deeper than the skin, at the bone. Aging happens across multiple tissue planes, with bone loss, the scaffolding, beginning in the 30s, followed by fat pads, connective tissue, and finally skin. "Aging starts all the way down to the bone." Collagen declines about 1 percent a year from the mid 20s.Why does your face change so suddenly in your 40s?Because of a sharp estrogen drop in perimenopause. Estrogen receptors in the skin help maintain collagen, so when estrogen falls, collagen does too, sometimes overnight. "I woke up one day and all of a sudden I saw this, and it can be that drastic," Hakim says, noting women can lose 30 to 40 percent of their collagen in this phase. How does radiofrequency work for the skin?By using heat and your own tissue to trigger repair. Radiofrequency delivers controlled heat that the tissue resists, setting off a collagen and elastin cascade plus some contraction for tightening. "You're creating a cascade that stimulates collagen and elastin," and modern devices heat precise layers rather than bulk heating the whole area.Is radiofrequency safe for skin of color?Yes, in trained hands and with modern cooling. The risk with melanin is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation if the wrong layer is overheated, but newer devices cool the surface as they work. "We say it's even like a colorblind treatment. It's safe for everyone," she says, crediting built in cooling for the leap in safety. What is XERF and what can you expect from it?A monopolar radiofrequency tightening device Hakim was among the first in the US to offer. It reaches multiple tissue depths at once and cools the skin with every pulse, making it safer and comfortable enough that patients fall asleep. "It's one of the safest that's currently on the market... doing multiple depths at the same time. How long until you see results from skin tightening?About two months, after an early preview. Any collagen stimulation, from energy or injectables, takes roughly two months to fully show. "It takes a true two months to see your actual endpoint," Hakim says, describing a honeymoon glow that fades before real results build. She starts most patients with two sessions. Why do the neck and hands age faster, and how should you treat themBecause they have far fewer oil glands than the face, and people neglect them. Signs of aging often appear first on the neck and hands, yet most routines stop at the jaw. "Everything you do for your face you can do for your neck," she advises, extending skincare, sun protection, and treatments to both. When should you start aesthetic treatments, and who should you trust?Around the mid 20s, when collagen loss begins, and only with a qualified expert. Hakim stresses that good work is invisible and that dermatologists train for years specifically in noninvasive aesthetics. "You have to really have someone that you can trust that's going to be honest with you," including telling patients no when a trend will not age well.Listen to the full episode with Dr. Jacquiline Hakim on Skin Anarchy, available wherever you get your podcasts.Learn more about Cynosure Lutronic and XERFDon't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!*This is a sponsored collaborationSupport the show

Tuhan Yesus memberkati

"I wasn't just collecting artifacts—I was protecting the evidence that Black people have always defined ourselves." That reflection from Dr. Khalid el-Hakim anchors one of the most profound conversations ever recorded on Detroit is Different. Long before earning his doctorate, Dr. el-Hakim was rescuing books, photographs, newspapers, flyers, artwork, and priceless artifacts that many dismissed as ordinary, understanding that every item carried the story of Black people determined to define themselves. In this expansive interview, he traces his family's journey from Virginia through the Underground Railroad into Canada and Detroit, the influence of his grandparents' activism, Great Lakes Mutual Insurance, People's Community Church, Carter G. Woodson's visit to Detroit, and the library that first awakened his love for history. He shares how schools like Mumford High, African-centered educators like Mama Shushana (Ms. Taliaferro), and Detroit's rich political and cultural legacy shaped his life's work. Now, with the scholarship of a Ph.D. reinforcing decades of grassroots preservation, Dr. el-Hakim explains not only 'what' he collected, but 'why' context is the true treasure—connecting every artifact to the larger struggle, brilliance, resistance, and imagination of Black people. This episode is a masterclass on cultural preservation, proving that safeguarding our history is not nostalgia; it is a strategy for community empowerment, historical truth, and building a future where our children inherit knowledge instead of erasure.  Have you heard about remote viewing? Would you like to learn to utilize your psychic skills? Did you know it's easy for children to develop these abilities? Lisa continues the conversation with our guest today, Hakim Isler, who is a combat veteran and military expert in PsiOps. He is the creator of the Psi Games Event and will discuss its role in unlocking human potential. Hakim is a survivalist as well an expert in consciousness. He talks about the importance of play and how he uses it in the Psi Games. Hakim talks about how we can stay open to ideas and use our psychic knowledge. He invites us to push the limits and develop our abilities. Through the Psi Games, he founded a competition that involves remote viewing as well. He talks about training with many of the original remote viewers. We can learn to break through the boundaries. Hakim believes it's the next level of human evolution. This can all become normal. We have so much information including 150-200 years of research into this phenomenon. Universities such as Princeton, Rice, Duke, the University of Virginia and others have been studying these methods for many decades. He also discusses his work with the Monroe Institute. Hakim believes we need to make the idea of psychic abilities fun and available to the masses. Hakim was on the TV show "Naked and Afraid" where he was sent to the Himalayan mountains and needed to survive for 21 days with no food, no water, no shelter. He talks more about what he learned through those lessons, including the power of love.  Hakim invites us to explore a world of unlimited possibilities available to us all. This is Part 2 of the interview. Info: Psigamesinternational.com and Hakim-Isler.com.

Are you familiar with the idea of remote viewing and how the military uses it? Would you like to hone your psychic skills? Our guest today, Hakim Isler, is a combat veteran and military expert in PsiOps. He is the creator of the Psi Games Event and will discuss its role in unlocking human potential. Hakim is a survivalist and explains how the human hierarchy of needs relates to the chakras. We are all part of the whole. In this interview, Hakim discusses consciousness and how we relate to the world. This leads to other states of awareness. He talks about spiritual living and the importance of breathwork. Hakim is involved in an extensive yoga program and talks about balance and various breathing techniques. He shares about three different types of breathing, all of which affects our energy, whether it's to feel more energized, to slow down and relax, or to simply be in balance. Hakim was on the TV show "Naked and Afraid" where he was sent to the Himalayan mountains and needed to survive for 21 days with no food, no water, no shelter. He shares what he learned during that time. Hakim realized that what really matters is who you are and who you love. He tries to remind people that we are unlimited beings. We must try to hold on to what matters – and love is the most important aspect. The biggest tools we have are our breath and our love. We are all connected. Hakim further discusses the practice of remote viewing which was originally designed by the military to access information from a different place and time. Essentially the veterans in this secret program were considered "psychic spies." Hakim explains how remote viewing helps us realize we are more than our physical bodies. We are expanded beings as a collective. The true awareness of who we are is about connection as a whole. He also talks about the extensive work he is doing to teach everyone, children as well, how to access our innate psychic abilities. Hakim believes it's the next level of our evolution. He invites us to step into the full spectrum of who we are by learning and experiencing these unlimited possibilities. This is Part 1 of the interview. On this episode of the Sports As A Weapon Podcast, Miguel interviews Hakim Jihad and Wells Todd of the US Hands Off Cuba Committee about a recent youth and labor delegation to Cuba. Hakim and Wells Todd discussed the meetings the delegation had with Cuban mass organizations such as CENESEX (Centro Nacional de Educación Sexual), participation in May Day marches, and visits to clinics and Havana's Calixto García hospital to deliver medical aid amid shortages and blackouts they attribute to the US blockade and new oil restrictions.Hakim and Wells respond to the Fox News coverage on the delegation and Cuba by arguing that Cuba is framed as a “national security threat” because of post-revolution gains in healthcare, education, LGBTQ rights, and pharmaceuticals, including vaccines and other treatments. Miguel, Hakim and Wells Todd also discuss signs they believe indicate possible US military escalation or even invasion, address the push by the Trump administration to indict Raúl Castro tied to Brothers to the Rescue flights, and outline Hands Off Cuba's current priorities in their Jacksonville chapter and nationally: “No War on Cuba” organizing, humanitarian aid efforts, and the Let Cuba Play campaign to make sure Cuban athletes can obtain Visas and participate at the 2028 Olympic Games. Links:* Hands Off Cuba Committee Website* Let Cuba Play Campaign Website * Cuba Denounces Devastating Impact of U.S. Blockade on Childhood at UNICEF/teleSUR English  * Why Students From the U.S. and Around the World Study Medicine in Cuba/Belly of the Beast Cuba (YouTube Video)  * Coalition Demands ICE-Free World Cup / Cuba activists educate at Los Angeles World Cup / Radio Habana Cuba * Why Is the U.S. Targeting Raúl Castro Now? / Belly of the Beast Cuba (YouTube Video)  * Anti-Fascist Football Coalition Website: https://peoplescenteredhumanrights.com/move-the-games/ Miguel Garcia and Comrade E produced this episode. Hakim Lakhdar - Lead Yourself!!

Before the swords clashed at Badr, three men stepped forward to face three of Quraysh's champions in a duel that would open one of the most pivotal battles in Islamic history. Hamza, Ali, and Ubaydah ibn al-Harith stood against Shaybah, Utbah, and Al-Walid; and the encounter ended with both swift victory and painful sacrifice. Ubaydah ibn al-Harith fell that day, bleeding severely, yet spent his final moments reciting poetry in defence of the Prophet ﷺ. The episode also covers the Prophet ﷺ spending the battle in his tent, raising his hands to Allah to the point where his garment fell from his shoulders, and Abu Bakr's emotional response beside him. Allah's answer came; angels descending, fear placed in the hearts of Quraysh, and victory granted to a small group of believers who had placed their complete trust in Allah. The episode closes with a powerful reminder that victory always belongs to those who hold firm to their faith, no matter how impossible the odds may look. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 3rd study session on Char Adams' Black-Owned: The Revolutionary Life of the Black Bookstore. Published in 2025, Adams' new book made a number of lists for top books of the year. Listed as an "award-winning journalist, editor, and storyteller for NBC News, known for her work on race, identity, and inequitable systems," Adams is a lovely black female, Victim of Racism. This book examines the history of people classified as black in the area of the world known as the US. Specifically, Adams investigates how black people have responded to the System of White Supremacy through the lens of bookstores owned and operated by black people. C.O.W.S. listeners should know that White Supremacists have invested immense time and energy to ensure that black people do not read or have access to books. So, black bookstores must be heavily targeted places. Last week, we learned about the demise of Drum & Spear Bookstore in Washington, D.C. and Martin Sostre's now defunct Afro Asian Book Shop in Buffalo's Eastside. This shop was located on Jefferson Avenue less than 800 feet from the future TOPS Market where 10 black people would be killed in a 2022 White Terrorist attack. Adams also details Liberation Bookstore in Harlem, Hakim's Book's in Philadelphia, and Vaughn's Book Store in Detroit. All of these locations were assumed to be hubs of black "extremism" and subject to FBI surveillance and Racist thuggery. #COINTELPRO #TheCOWS16Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE 564943#
