After a three-year interim, Dad and I finally return to Reinhold Niebuhr's magisterial work, The Nature and Destiny of Man, first delivered as the Gifford Lectures in 1939, then revised and published in 1943. In this episode on vol. 2, we discuss what Dad cribbed from Niebuhr upon his first reading this book 55 years ago (!), the question of metanarratives and what we can (and can't) know about history, why the atonement is necessary, and of course, Sarah's favorite topic, the Parousia of Christ. This year of podcasting ends not with a whimper, but a bang! Looking toward an EIGHTH year of Queen of the Sciences? Show your support by becoming a Patron! Notes: 1. In this week's episode of China Insider, Miles Yu reviews the recent announcement from technology giant Canon to close one of its major printer facilities based in mainland China, and assess the impact of a rising demand for domestic manufacturing on foreign companies based in China. Next, Miles covers the news of US naval operations and intercept of a Chinese cargo ship en route to Iran reportedly carrying dual-use goods in a move to prevent Iran's continued remilitarization efforts. Finally, Miles provides analysis on the CCP's continued efforts to spread anti-Japanese propaganda, and the political fallout from these campaigns that harms both Chinese domestic and foreign policy. China Insider is a weekly podcast project from Hudson Institute's China Center, hosted by China Center Director and Senior Fellow, Dr. Miles Yu, who provides weekly news that mainstream American outlets often miss, as well as in-depth commentary and analysis on the China challenge and the free world's future.

Host Natalie Grueninger speaks with Dr Christina Faraday about her new book, 'The Story of Tudor Art', a first-of-its-kind survey of 16th-century English art. They explore how Tudor art functioned as communication and status—covering portraits, miniatures, tapestries, household objects, royal effigies, patrons from kings to middling professionals, and artists such as Holbein, Hilliard, and lesser-known women makers. The episode also discusses imported art, surprising everyday objects that reveal court life, and an upcoming exhibition, Tudor Contemporary, which pairs modern responses with historical works. Dr. Jerome Corsi takes a deep historical dive into Walter Duranty, the New York Times reporter who was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for reporting that was later exposed as propaganda for one of the most brutal regimes in human history. This is an encore presentation.Duranty served not as a journalist, but as Josef Stalin's public relations agent, producing glowing, fictionalized accounts of life inside the Soviet Union while deliberately concealing the truth about mass repression, political terror, and the Holodomor — the engineered starvation that killed millions of Ukrainians.Dr. Corsi exposes:

We believe all neighborhoods deserve to be covered in a meaningful way.We amplify positive stories, cover development and local school council meetings and serve as watchdogs in neighborhoods often ostracized by traditional news media.Ground-level coverageOur neighborhood-based reporters don't parachute in once to cover a story. They are in the neighborhoods they cover every day building relationships over time with neighbors. We believe this ground-level approach not only builds community but leads to a more accurate portrayal of a neighborhood.Stories that matter to you — every daySince our launch seven years ago, we've published more than 30,000 stories from the neighborhoods, covered hundreds of community meetings and send daily and neighborhood newsletters to more than 150,000 Chicagoans. We've built this loyalty by proving to folks we are not only covering their neighborhoods, we are a part of them. Some of us have internalized the national media's narrative of a broken Chicago. We aim to change that by celebrating our neighborhoods and chronicling the resilience of the people who fight every day to make Chicago a better place for all.

In this episode of Uncommon Sense, I'm discussing my changing views on Israel, Donald Trump, and Candace Owens and why principles grounded in Scripture must always matter more than personalities.I'll discuss how easy it is to get swept up in political figures, influencers, and movements… all while forgetting that God alone is who we should be following. The devil is just like a stalker prowling around, watching, scheming, seeking someone to devour. And in these chaotic times, he's using deception, manipulation, and emotional brainwashing to pull people into confusion and ultimately into Hell.In this episode, we're talking about how the synagogue of Satan is operating openly today, pushing narratives meant to distract and divide. I am urging my listeners to stay anchored in the Word, remain spiritually alert, and refuse to be seduced by personalities, platforms, or “conservative celebrities” who very well may not be aligned with God's truth.Ultimately, we all need to return to the Bible (now more than ever) and to guard our minds and souls as the days grow darker and darker.--https://www.bible.com/
In this episode Kyle and Chris reunite with their mate across the pond--Daniel Torridon--of the Onion Unlimited Podcast. This one doesn't go quite as planned, when an off-hand remark about the Crusades unexpectedly ignites a tense discussion on politics, Christianity and propaganda. We cover political Islam, Christian morals as a social prescription, free speech and revisionist history. From a discussion of political manipulation, we move to the manipulation of social media algorithms and wrap up with a bit of speculation on the nature of spirit. Enjoy ;)

This episode goes straight to the heart of Trump's chaotic Pentagon with one of the most respected national security reporters in America, Barbara Starr. In this all–new Manosphere Monday, Paul and Barbara dig into the debate around the boat strikes off Venezuela, war crime allegations, “Signalgate,” Trump's new defense strategy and what happens when the guardrails that protect U.S. troops start coming off. Barbara explains why she's never seen anything like Pete Hegseth's drama-fueled Pentagon, how the new “propaganda press corps” replacing traditional reporters in the briefing room is changing the flow of truth, and why Trump's walk-back from NATO looks like a gift-wrapped present to Vladimir Putin. They connect the dots from Pearl Harbor to 9/11, January 6th and today's surprise-attack risks—from Venezuela to China and Taiwan—and lay out what real vigilance and leadership should look like in 2025. Paul takes listeners through the latest on the controversial boat strikes, the escalating partisan fight on Capitol Hill, the National Guard deployment hearings, and the 3,000-page defense bill barreling through Congress while Trump hands himself a FIFA “peace prize” on Fox Sports. Barbara breaks down what's at stake for apolitical troops, the dismantling of military legal and diversity safeguards, and the danger of turning the Secretary of Defense into a full-time video performer instead of a wartime leader. They also zoom out to the bigger cultural moment—from Pearl Harbor remembrance and World War II's “greatest generation” to the rise of women's flag football and the Dodgers' World Series run—and close with “something good,” including Paul's unapologetic love for *NSYNC's holiday album and Barbara's countdown to spring training. Pastor Dennis exposes how blind honor twists truth, silences questions, and protects harmful leaders. Like the Pharisees or any abusive system, it controls information, creates false enemies, and hides corruption behind performance. Jesus breaks the propaganda machine by confronting lies, exposing hypocrisy, and destroying fear. Real honor doesn't cover sin. Real loyalty doesn't demand silence. And real freedom begins when we stop confusing control with care and let Christ bring everything into the light.
Is the idea of “progress” the propaganda of the ruling class? Yes, according to Samuel Miller McDonald, author of Progress: How One Idea Built Civilization and Now Threatens to Destroy it. McDonald traces this “narrative formula” back 5,000 years to the first market empires in Mesopotamia—societies that were parasitic from the start, extracting from nature for profit and expansion. The Mesopotamian epic Epic of Gilgamesh, McDonald argues, is essentially a celebration of deforestation. Fast forward a few thousand years and modern industrialization didn't corrupt this system; it supercharged it. His solution? Sortition, agroecology, and dissolving elite power. “I have more faith in the general public,” he tells me about a contemporary world dominated by what he sees as extractive billionaires like Bill Gates and Peter Thiel, “than in people who seek positions of power and control.” This is a public episode. A bumper edition of Propaganda as Leeds United beat Chelsea at Elland Road!
In a world where Israel is headline news every day, most people are trying to interpret events through a fog of bias, misinformation, and instant reaction culture. We sat down with longtime Jerusalem-based journalist Nicole Jansezian to ask a simple question that's not simple at all: How do we know what's actually true? What unfolded was an inside look at the fractured media landscape inside Israel and the ideological forces shaping the region. Nicole helps us slow down and understand why the Middle East defies the easy categories most Westerners reach for. Israel's political divisions don't map onto America's left-right spectrum. Palestinian society is not monolithic. And both sides live with historic, cultural, and religious dynamics that rarely show up in the headlines. When we oversimplify, we miss the deeper story - and the deeper human reality. This conversation is for anyone who wants discernment in an age of propaganda. We explore why speed has replaced accuracy, why influencers often outrun truth, and why we need a long view shaped by Scripture, not by algorithms. For Christians seeking to understand Israel, this isn't just geopolitics - it's about returning to the story God has been telling since Genesis and learning to see the world the way He sees it. Key Takeaways Israel's internal political spectrum is far more complex than the American left–right divide. Headlines often frame events without context, leading to widespread misunderstanding. Influencer-driven “news” prioritizes speed and virality over verification. Propaganda is not always overt; sometimes it's subtle, soft influence that shapes perception. Ideology - religious, historic, territorial - drives Middle Eastern decisions more than economics. The media environment inside Israel is deeply divided, with competing narratives shaping public opinion. Christians must pursue discernment by slowing down, asking better questions, and grounding their understanding in Scripture. When a Holocaust survivor dies by assisted suicide, that's not a tragedy. This situation serves as a reflection of our society. The act of assisted suicide raises profound moral questions. We must confront the uncomfortable truths about suffering. The choices we make in life and death are deeply interconnected. Understanding the past can inform our present choices. The emotional weight of these decisions cannot be underestimated. Society's response to suffering reveals much about our values. Reflection on these issues is essential for moral growth. Engaging with difficult topics can lead to greater empathy. One Time Donation! - Paypal - https://paypal.me/brassandunityBuy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@thekelsisherenperspectiveInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsiBurnsSubstack: https://substack.com/@kelsisherenTikTok - https://x.com/KelsiBurnsListen on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/1O3yiobOjThKHtqyjviy1a?si=6c78bdc2325a43aeListen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-kelsi-sheren-perspective/id1537489127SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS - - - - - - - - - - - -Ketone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY - http://brassandunity.com- - - - - - - - - - - - -CHARITYHeroic Hearts Project - https://www.heroicheartsproject.orgDefenders of Freedom - https://www.defendersoffreedom.usBoot Campaign - https://bootcampaign.org
I was walking down the street the other day when I saw a lemonade stand. It was a cute setup that a little girl had with her giant pitcher and princess cups. I was drawn to pay a dollar for a glass of lemonade to quench my thirst. As I was sipping the yellow tart nectar, the little girl proceeded to ask me who I voted for in the election. She asked if I thought the economy was in shambles or if I was pro-union. I was shocked. This 8-year-old was drilling me on my voting habits, and when I told her I didn't vote, oh boy, did she tell me what was wrong with Millennials. She blamed my avocado toast for raising the prices of princess tiaras and my lack of 7 children for why the city can no longer afford the free sewing class at the library. For 83 minutes, this child laid into me about why I needed to get my head on straight and attend more city planning task group meetings. Suffice it to say that the glass of lemonade was mediocre.
In this Wednesday Night Live on 3 December 2025, philosopher Stefan Molyneux delves into the Mouse Utopia Experiment, or Universe 25, conducted by John B. Calhoun, exploring its implications on societal behaviors and psychological breakdowns. We examine the setup and outcomes of this study, where unlimited resources led to self-destructive behaviors among a mouse population. The discussion highlights the relationship between environment and mental health, urging caution in making direct comparisons to human society. We address the criticisms of Calhoun's methodology, the ethical concerns of using animals in experiments, and the relevance of these findings to contemporary issues like urban overcrowding and social isolation. The conversation encourages listeners to reflect on the necessity of promoting human excellence and combating isolation within our communities to avoid the pitfalls illustrated by the experiment.SUBSCRIBE TO ME ON X! https://x.com/StefanMolyneuxFollow me on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/@freedomain1GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

This week’s guest is Renee DiResta, professor, and author of Invisible Rulers: The People Who Turn Lies Into Reality. In part one this week, she talks to Lola and Meagan about propaganda, disinformation vs. misinformation, and how social media algorithms push us all into highly individualized, “bespoke” realities. They discuss how she became interested in this topic after social media algorithms started suggesting anti-vaxxer content to her, how rage bait and other emotionally charged material spreads faster, and why social media makes it seem like other people have more extreme views than the majority of them actually do.SOURCES Invisible Rulers: The People Who Turn Lies Into RealitySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week, Mariann dives headfirst into the murky waters of the UK’s “Spycops Scandal,” where undercover officers infiltrated animal rights groups with tactics ranging from the questionable to the downright duplicitous. Then, brace yourself for Mariann’s special brand of eye-rolling commentary on the self-congratulatory bubble of animal agriculture, where farming isn’t just a job but apparently a divine calling passed down…
