Weekly Twitch stream, Sundays at 8pm, featuring Sarah Wilson, Sam Lanier, and Felipe Di Poi.
Back from hiatus but we're not gonna go back to the old schedule we'll probably just do episodes every once in a while moving forward.
Sorry this one is so late! It was just Sam and Sarah on this one. Have a good week :)
We talked about going to the Pictoplasma animation conference, hanging out in Berlin, Donald Trump being maybe liable, and old Simple Town videos.
Director, animator, producer Steve Smith (Adult Swim, Braindead, Fontaine, etc....) comes on to talk about making short films, music videos, art directing, and getting money to make your work.
Dylan Redford (@dredford_) came on to talk about Borscht, his short My Trip to Miami, Neighbors, creating regional scenes, art collectives, and cults... honestly a fire conversation.
Doge Twitter, Trump goes to jail, Lifeworld punk show, beautiful animation, improv, 5 million dollar movie, Michael Jordan, overly long comedy show.
We got Caroline Yost (editor, comedian, member of Simple Town, Ladies Who Ranch, Car World, William and Caroline OnlyFans) and we talked about all her different projects + the new Simple Town short + her philosophy on editing.
We talked about corecore, paypigs, and the Simple Town show.
We had Annabel and Sabina on to talk about being twins, doing couple's therapy, and people with fake DID
Just us three this time talking about movies and videogames again.
We talked to director and editor Harrison Fishman (@HarrisonFishman) (Glensday, Moon Hoax, Big Pussy) about his films, his transition from sculpture to film, the violence of filming people, 360 degree cameras, directing non-actors, and his documentary Neighbors. Check it out.
We talked to Jake (@hoe_slut_hoe on Instagram) about her evolution from venerated architect to Brookly nightlife producer legend, to her feud with Brit Barbie, to some other stuff. You don't wanna miss this one.
Talked about Avatar, Brazilian insurrection, the Velma show
We talked about Balenciage, High School, and Liver King
We talked about the movie Barbarian, Triangle of Sadness, and something else.
We talked about the lab leak hypothesis, a Caveh Zahedi screening that got weird, and um what else. Oh, holidays.
We talked about why Sarah wants to stop producing and me and Sam had a tense conversation about something that happened two years ago. Mario movie
The sound becomes extremely ass at one point. I'm sorry, next week we're back to normal I promise
Bad sound on this one, but thats OK. Felipe's in Argentina, Sam went to Sustain release, and Sarah is trying to figure out what to do with her free time.
No Felipe this ep. We have Edy Modica on to dish on her own experiences in Hollywood (where movies are made)
We got Will Duncan on the track
Wow one hundred episodes. What an awesome thing to have happened
Apparently we found out at the end of the episode that none of the stuff we talked about anybody wanted to talk about. Curious about whether that will make for an interesting listen. I guess I like the end because it opens the curtain into how we think about the show but don't we literally do that every single episode?
We watched an entire SNL sketch for a bunch of this episode
Honestly we talked about the movie Nope for most of the epsode
We get a little sad but we talk about Memoria at the end
We got Pedro Bello (@Pedro.TQM) talking about art, his time at Borscht, his NFT project AdWorld, and his music. Even if you don't know who he is and you're just tuning in for us three, yo should listen to it, because Pedro is really funny and good in it.
Sam and I got real about animation and our lives. I guess we always do that
Rachel came around and we sort of shot the shit
Sandy came through and put our feet to the fire
Ian Faria (@lornemichaels on IG and @ianfaria13 on Twitter) came on to advertise the Kickstarter for his new project "What Happened to Bobi," a movie where he will be reenacting his grandmother's stories of contact with aliens. You can find the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ianfaria/what-happened-to-bobi Give him your money! And if you're curious, here's the link to "UFOs, Nephilim, Climate Change and the Devil": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw8_hW9rTl8&t=775s
We're always talking about wanting to make TV but there's other good stuff too.
This is Felipe speaking. And Sarah is back. She told us about Bridgerton.
No Sarah on this one, just two guys discussing the political and economic state of the world
Come to our live show tonight at 8 PM at purgatory
Playwright, director, and actor Julia Mounsey (Protec/Attac, While You Were partying, 50/50 Old School Animation) came to fill in for Felipe on this episode. They talk about theater in New York, Julia's work, and why she tried convincing Felipe to quit the podcast.
