In this episode of The Brick Session, Mark is joined by co-host Caroline Livesey for a no-nonsense chat about where triathlon is heading, and who's quietly buying the keys to the building. We start with the PTO, who currently appear to be purchasing everything in triathlon that isn't physically bolted to the floor. Is it smart consolidation, necessary progress, or just the sporting equivalent of Monopoly played with very deep pockets? We break down what it means for athletes, fans, and the long-term shape of the sport, without the press-release horse shit.Next up: Ironman banning all competitor filming during races. Cue outrage, think-pieces, and shaky GoPro footage mourned across social media. Except, we actually think it's a good decision. We talk fairness, safety, and why racing might be better when athletes are focused on racing, not content creation. Finally, we tackle the elephant in every Instagram feed: why athletes and coaches feel the need to post everything. Training volume. Power files. Easy runs. Hard runs. The run before the run. The “accidentally hard” run. We ask what it's really for, who it's helping, and whether a bit of mystery, and restraint might actually be a good thing. Because sometimes less is more. Less noise. Less validation chasing. And, ironically, often better performance. Blunt opinions, dry humour, and a reality check for modern triathlon culture, exactly as you'd expect from Mark. Caroline is the sensible one... Enjoy

In Episode 144 of SITREP, CannCon and Alpha Warrior open with sponsor highlights before diving into a heated and wide-ranging discussion that blends culture, courage, and controversy. A viral video of a young woman performing CPR while bystanders stand idle sparks a conversation about the “bystander effect,” moral responsibility, and the erosion of instinctive leadership in crisis moments. From there, the hosts shift into a sharp debate over Thomas Massie's recent comments on the Epstein files, DOJ redactions, and whether political theater is at play. They dissect interview clips, question narrative framing, and examine the legal and strategic implications surrounding ongoing investigations. The conversation expands into executive power, constitutional limits, and speculation about what may unfold before 2028. Blunt, analytical, and unapologetically opinionated, this episode captures SITREP at its core: two veterans breaking down current events through experience, instinct, and hard-edged debate.
Matan-Paul Shetrit, Director of Product Management at Writer, argues that people must take responsibility for how they use AI. If someone produces poor-quality output, he says, the blame lies with the user—not the tool. He believes many misunderstand AI's role, confusing its ability to accelerate work with an abdication of accountability. Speaking on The New Stack Agents podcast, Shetrit emphasized that “we're all becoming editors,” meaning professionals increasingly review and refine AI-generated content rather than create everything from scratch. However, ultimate responsibility remains human. If an AI-generated presentation contains errors, the presenter—not the AI—is accountable. Shetrit also discussed the evolving AI landscape, contrasting massive general-purpose models from companies like OpenAI and Google with smaller, specialized models. At Writer, the focus is on enabling enterprise-scale AI adoption by reducing costs, improving accuracy, and increasing speed. He argues that bespoke, narrowly focused models tailored to specific use cases are essential for delivering reliable, cost-effective AI solutions at scale. HOUR 1 Hour 1 – https://RushToReason.com pulls no punches as John Rush dives headfirst into culture, freedom, and accountability—starting with a Super Bowl weekend that exposed just how divided the country has become. Why did a halftime show spark outrage, canceled orders, and online pile-ons against small businesses? And what does that say about tolerance, choice, and who really believes in freedom? John is joined by Mike Jansen of Plumberoos (https://plumberoos.com/), who breaks from the corporate, commission-driven model to explain what “old-school service” actually looks like in today's world. Is it possible to run a successful business without upselling fear and urgency? What happens when trust—not pressure—is the foundation? The hour then pivots to deeper questions about government control versus personal responsibility, from proposed Colorado legislation impacting digital privacy to the economics of captive pricing at airports and major events. Is regulation protecting people—or punishing common sense? And why are consumers shocked by prices in places where choice is limited? This hour challenges listeners to rethink outrage culture, media narratives, and where freedom quietly slips away when no one's paying attention.

Pags opens with a troubling update on Nancy Guthrie that raises even more questions than answers. A bizarre twist follows as authorities arrest a man accused of sending a fake ransom letter, adding another layer of confusion to an already disturbing situation. From there, Pags turns his fire locally — urging voters to stop rewarding career politicians who hide behind virtue signaling while serving only themselves. Calling out San Antonio leadership by name, he asks the question many conservatives are thinking: why aren't we voting in more family-first, common-sense conservatives? HOUR 1 Hour 1 of Rush To Reason opens with signature intensity as John Rush and Andy Peth challenge listeners to question narratives shaping today's culture. From mad cow disease and prion science to a fiery discussion on ICE protests, paid activism, and law enforcement, the hour asks a provocative question: how do you talk to family members—especially younger ones—when politics turns personal and divisive? The conversation digs into freedom vs. force, the rule of law, and why enforcement is being reframed as oppression. Mid-hour, the spotlight shifts to pop culture colliding with politics as Andy reviews Melania. Set during the 20 days leading up to Donald Trump's second inauguration, the film is portrayed as a quiet, meticulous character study of Melania Trump—elegant, disciplined, emotionally reserved, and fiercely self-controlled. Andy contrasts glowing audience reactions with hostile critic reviews, raising a bigger question: is the backlash about filmmaking—or ideology? Fast-paced, provocative, and cinematic, Hour 1 feels less like talk radio and more like a trailer for the cultural battles shaping America right now.

Conservatives and MAGA types may be applauding President Donald Trump's work to secure the border, fight off Venezuela threats, defend America from globalists and leftists and Marxists from within — but along with Democrats, who are infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome, are libertarians who criticize this administration for failing to uphold what they say are key constitutional issues. Steven Nekhaila, chairman of the Libertarian National Committee, gives Trump a grade of "D" — on a good day.
Mark Cuban approaches healthcare the same way he approaches every industry he enters: by assuming something essential is missing and then asking who benefits from keeping it that way. In American medicine, he believes that missing ingredient is transparency. Not better messaging, not smarter incentives, but simple visibility into how prices are set, who gets paid and who gets taken advantage of. Cuban is a lifelong healthcare outsider. He is a billionaire entrepreneur, NBA championship team owner and longtime Shark Tank investor. That's what makes him the perfect guest for Season 11 of Fixing Healthcare with cohosts Dr. Robert Pearl and Jeremy Corr. This season's guests have massive online audiences, but their value isn't just reach. It's their ability to listen closely to what millions of patients are experiencing, then translate those insights back into the broader medical conversation. Few guests embody that better than Cuban. He has quickly become one of the system's most incisive critics by paying attention to what patients, employers and clinicians repeatedly say is broken. That mindset led to the creation of Cost Plus Drugs, a pharmacy built on an idea that sounds radical only because healthcare has drifted so far from it. Show patients the actual cost of a medication, add a flat 15% markup and eliminate the opaque middlemen who thrive in the dark. In this conversation, Cuban explains how a cold email from a physician opened his eyes to how hidden pharmaceutical pricing had become and why opacity itself became the opportunity. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE INTERVIEW Why drug prices are detached from reality. Cuban breaks down how widely used medications, including GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars per month despite far lower manufacturing costs. The driver, he argues, is not innovation or scarcity, but a system dominated by pharmacy benefit managers whose rebate structures reward insurers and intermediaries while excluding patients. How patients bear the greatest financial harm. With concrete examples, Cuban explains how people in deductible phases, especially those on ACA plans, often pay full retail prices while rebates flow elsewhere. Costs are spread across millions of plan holders, but the financial pain lands on the people who actually need care. Why healthcare's complexity is intentional. From fax machines to prior authorization delays, Cuban argues that administrative friction is not accidental. It protects incumbents, drains clinician time and forces providers into the role of “subprime lenders,” all while patients struggle to navigate a system designed to obscure accountability. What he tells CEOs behind closed doors. Cuban outlines the first questions he asks corporate leaders about their pharmacy benefits, why most are not receiving the rebates they believe they are and how audits are often structured to reveal as little as possible. Transparency, he says, is the first step toward leverage. A blueprint beyond pharmaceuticals. The discussion extends into hospitals, insurance design and employer-based coverage, including Cuban's work on cost-plus wellness contracts that publish negotiated rates so others can replicate them. His goal is not dominance. It is forcing the system to respond by making its incentives visible. Throughout the episode, Cuban's message is blunt and consistent. Healthcare does not need more jargon, better marketing or marginal tweaks. It needs sunlight. Once pricing, incentives and risk are exposed, many of the system's most entrenched practices become much harder to justify. * * * Fixing Healthcare is a co-production of Dr. Robert Pearl and Jeremy Corr.
