Sunseeker Tom - Boat Broker, Boat Sales, Marine World

I think I might say sorry a few too many times but genuinely I am sorry for the lack of Podcast Content in recent months!! A instagram Reel I keep seeing says that you have 2 choices in life every day... the first is is to Repeat and the second is Evolve... the second has to be the only way forward so lets get this show on the road!  I am going to make myself record a Podcast at least every Month... ;-)  As I have said before if you would like to collaborate on a Podcast with me or if there is any specific topics you would like me to talk about please let me know. I have been wanting to do do my 20th podcast for some time and just haven't had the opportunity to do so... This week I was on board the stunning new Sunseeker 88 Yacht at anchor and had some time to spare so what better place to record my 20th Episode. The new Sunseeker Models include, the Sunseeker 90 Ocean, The Sunseeker 88 Yacht, The Sportyacht 65, Manhattan 55 and the Predator 55 Evo. Each new model is quite simply superb and I cant wait to publish some images that I took yesterday on my Instagram account! #WatchThisSpace 

So ink the previous Lockdown I did well with my podcasts but I have been far too slow in recent months, recently I do have an excuse with teh arrival our third child, Covid scares but have a listen to this most recent Podcast and I will make sure in weeks to come I get more content out there!! I promise!

2020 continues to surprise!! So as normal we travelled up to the Southampton boat show on the evening before the show only to be sat having  dinner and receive an email that told us all the show was cancelled!! Listen to this podcast to hear more!

Quick update from Me and why I have been so quiet! its all been a bit mad lately both at work and at home! Anyone with small children will know that home is usually pretty hectic and that no different in the Wills household!! Work has been busy, especially on the brokerage side of things which has been non stop! When I started my Podcast I always knew it would be hard to keep the content coming but I have some great new episodes coming up so stay tuned in! Thank you as always for listening!

Mark and I are in very different segments of the market but we both need each other to make deals happen. In this episode I interview the YouTube sensation AQUAHOLIC! Nick and I have known each other for well over 20 years and we were once competitors in Torquay, Nick being a Princess Salesman and I was Sunseeker.... Nick moved away from Sales and into Journalism where he regularly writes for Motor Boat and Yachting. He also has a very successful YouTube channel called AQUAHOLIC which is getting 5,000,000 views a month!! This Podcast details a memorable trip with skipper Mark Taylor @Coxswain1 which involved moving a Sunseeker Portofino 47 from northern Sicily to The French Riviera. The trip certainly had its highs and lows! Listen in for more details on our Amalfi adventure! 

On Thursday the 16th of April I was lucky enough to have an interview with Rhea the founder of International Yachting Radio.  Yachting International Radio is a Multi Media Platform. They are on LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as having our Website and Radio Platform.

In this episode Mark Taylor runs through a Quarantine checkup process on board a Sunseeker Manhattan 52. This involves turning the boats electrical systems on and running up the Volvo Penta D11 725hp engines to make sure that all the systems are working. As a Marine contractor Mark is permitted to gain access to the marinas to keep a eye on clients boats. He is offering this service for a minimal charge and is giving clients piece of mind... if you are local and would like to speak to Mark about the boat checkups please do get in touch. In these rather strange and uncertain times I thought it could be interesting to do a 'virtual trip' to Dartmouth from our home marina of Torquay. In this podcast episode I am joined by friend and Skipper Mark Taylor as we board a Sunseeker Manhattan 52 for a trip from Torquay Marina to Dartside quay on the River Dart. This is by no means a long journey but hopefully a bit of fun for those who listen! I would like to apologise for the Audio quality of Mark's input but I am struggling to record his audio in a high enough quality.... and he does not have a computer so trying to do everything remotely via a smart phone... turn the volume up and if you have any recommendations on how I can improve the audio please do let me know! 

So how could I not do a Podcast about this dreadful virus, as with anyone else reading this the last few weeks are unprecedented and our day to day lives have never been affected in this way. We must keep strong, positive and remember that it is not forever. Whilst we are in lockdown over the next few weeks I will like many be working from home and will make sure that I post a number of new episodes! This podcast gives you an idea of what a typical day Involves. On this particular day I had an early 0600 for a early morning breakfast meeting at 0830 with some of my colleagues from Sunseeker London, Sunseeker Poole and Sunseeker Southampton. We met at the very nice Hotel Du Vin In Poole where we are always well looked after. Breakfast and the meeting were both great!  I also explain in this podcast what else got to whilst I was at Sunseeker Poole. No client meetings on this particular day but that will follow... lots more ideas for Podcasts to come.  On the return journey from Sunseeker Poole I listened to the Chris Harris podcast for some inspiration and it worked... if you haven't already had a listen go and check it out. The particular episode I listened too was episode where Chris Harris interviewed Jethro Bovingdon and they discussed some of their tales from the Evo Magazine. So it had to be done! In this episode I give you my opinion only favourite Sunseeker Models in the 80's, 90's, 2000's and 2010 to present day! Make a coffee and have listen! I am sure if you know the Sunseeker history you may have a different option to me and thats fine but these are my thoughts. It was hard to pick just one model and thats why I had to break it down in to decades! I will expand on the process of boat surveys in future episodes however on Wednesday the 19th of February I had the opportunity to record a shorter than normal podcast whilst inspecting a Sunseeker Superhawk 43 that we are taking as a part exchange. It was a good opportunity for me to speak with the marine surveyor Chris Olsen who was carrying out the marine survey at Conwy Marine in North Wales. Please let me know if you have any questions and would like to hear more regarding the marine survey process. 

In this episode I explore the 3 different types of boat sales! Starting with Brokerage Boat sales whereby we act as an agent for the seller. I then explore the area of used boat stock sales and finish with the New Boat sales.    There is of course much more to the process than I can relay in my podcast however I do plan to expand on these over coming Podcast and please leave me some feedback if you would like to hear more on any specific points!    In the mean time thank you for listening!
