For service members, by service members. Methods of growth, mindset shifting, and mental health perspectives.
Edit: Sorry to any who listened to the first drop of this episode. The audio was jacked up. I fixed it the best that I could. We are back baby! We are starting off with an examination of the term "simp" and how it is more dangerous than the memes suggest. We need to live in authenticity, and protect our power and energy. Don't be a simp. Don't be a coward.
The first returning guest! Charlie Brown couldn't get enough so we went round two and talked about methods of stress regulation and how to process various triggers and tactics on how to mitigate stress. Self-Help is a meaningless nothing term if you aren't actually helping yourself. What are you doing to better yourself? How would you treat a friend struggling with whatever you are struggling with? What advice would you give someone, and can you follow it yourself? Self-help and self-discipline both need to come from the same source: yourself. You have to do it. So go do it.
Sorry for the late drop. There was a bit of a scheduling error with Anchor. Today we talked about consumption of media and how you have to protect your headspace from going too deep into the weeds with media. How do you self regulate your consumption of media? I take regular breaks from social media and tv shows and get into a flow state with school work. Take care of your headspace and fortify your lines. Love and gratitude, always. This is hands down my favorite interview. Charlie Brown (CB) asked to remain anonymous due to civilian occupation. He's a SWAT officer, a former Marine and wicked smart. He is also one of my best friends. I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation, and I think you will get a lot out of it. Love, and gratitude, always. Howdy, Sorry for the delay. I had tried uploading a previously recorded audio file, but I'm still learning and I uploaded a corrupt file. My bad. We cover the Book The Knight In Rusty Armor (https://tinyurl.com/nhdc5bdw) and how it can be applied as a metaphor for leaving the military and letting down the walls we have built. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

B-B-B-Bonus Episode! The normal podcast rotation is looking like it'll drop at 0600 EST on Tuesdays. But this was too good not to share a day early. I sit down with a good friend of mine whom I refer to as Joe. He's going for a fancy pants job that's not podcasting and requested some privacy. We had a really good conversation with some key takeaways: * roadblocks to speaking up in the service member community * how coming home can feel * building a tribe that can help with a sense of community and purpose. Hope y'all had as much fun listening to Joe as I do. For a dumb grunt, he's pretty smart. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
