On this episode of GoalChat, host Debra Eckerling explores the world of webinars with Dr. Judith Briles, The Book Shepherd; Brigette Callahan of Babilon Arts; and Julie Migliacci of Revent Consulting. Between Judith's experience as a presenter, Brigette's slide specialty, and Julie's event tech expertise, they were the perfect panel to discuss what works — and what doesn't — when it comes to webinars. The panel talks about people's love-hate relationship with webinars, the importance of having a clear purpose, and strategies for keeping attendees engaged from start to finish. Whether you're an entrepreneur, consultant, thought-leader, or more than one of the above, hosting or speaking at webinars is likely part of your business. Be engaging - and prepared. Everyone will have a much better experience. Goals - Judith: If you are a newbie, observe what does and doesn't work; take notes. Keep your slides simple. If there is a snafu, remember you are the webinar - Julie: Think outside the Zoom box. There are other platform you can explore, such as webinar.net; reach out to Julie if you want to learn about other options - Brigette: As an attendee, if there's too much text on sildes, closer your eyes and listen. As a presenter, know your material and practice for mishaps. Be yourself, be confident, and have fun Final Thoughts - Judith: Don't do well what you have no business doing. If you never say no, your yeses are worthless - Brigette: If you do what you love, you love what you do - Julie: Know your why for your webinars Learn More About Judith Briles: TheBookShepherd.com Brigette Callahan: BabilonArts.com Julie Migliacci: Revent.consulting Debra Eckerling: TheDEBMethod.com/blog TheBookProposalExpert.com Learn more about your ad choices. Jeff was out on OSR in Georgia, so Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk called on local icon Capt. Larry Miniard to sit in once again. The laughs started early, and they went all show long! The weather, unfortunately, has continued to be distinctly un-funny. Water conditions are still messy, wind continues to be pushy, salinity levels are still wonky…what’s an angler to do? FYI – things MAY be looking better (go ahead and cross your fingers). Now the great part about having a guy like Capt. Larry in the studio is the stories – it didn’t matter what the subject was…he had great stories for every single one of ’em. Fishing, hunting, good weather, bad weather, you name it. This is the ultimate episode for great tales. Here's your L.V. Hiers Inc gear tip of the week: For Father's Day… drop a hint to your wife or kids! Megyn Kelly begins the show discussing the ongoing delays in California election results, why it could take weeks to determine the runoff in the governor race and LA mayor race, legitimate concerns about confidence in California's election system, and more. Then Maureen Callahan, host of The Nerve, joins to discuss Belle Burden's bestselling divorce memoir "Strangers," questions about the accuracy of the book's portrayal of her marriage and financial situation, Burden's spin about relationships and accountability, the lies in "Strangers" about Belle Burden's significant personal wealth from before the marriage, revelations about her trust fund worth more than $60 million, the spin during her book tour interviews with Oprah and Drew Barrymore, the turmoil at CBS News following the firing of Scott Pelley, criticism of Bari Weiss' leadership and management style, the unfolding PR disaster, Tony Dokoupil's emotional farewell to Pelley, why cable news, corporate media, and social media is such a "snake pit," whether all competitive industries feature jealousy and workplace toxicity, Jill Biden's treatment of a clearly infirmed Joe Biden on display, her gross book tour, Blake Lively using a victim's law to try to get legal fees, the way her fight is hurting real victims and more. Craig Callahan, founder and chief executive officer, ICON Advisers — manager of the ICON Equity fund, which is up more than 25% year-to-date — says the market, even at record highs, is right around fair value, meaning he doesn't see over-pricing or investor behavior typical of market peaks. As a result, so long as earnings stay strong — and he describes current earnings as being at levels of "crazy, silly growth" — the market will climb the proverbial wall of worry higher, potentially for the next few years. Mark Boulton, portfolio manager at Pictet Asset Management, says that the standard emerging-markets investment play — heavy on technology stocks and weighted to China, Korea and Taiwan — misses the point of true "emerging markets investing," which is to benefit from rising economies and countries that are seeing expansive GDP growth. Boulton, who runs the new Pictet Emerging Markets Rising Economies ETF, says Brazil, South Africa, Mexico and frontier markets like Vietnam and Kazakhstan have better growth prospects and are likely to outpace developed markets and deliver better long-term results moving forward. Chip Lupo discusses the 2026 Household Debt Survey from WalletHub, which showed that more than half of Americans say their household is struggling with debt, and more than 2 in 5 expecting their household debt to increase in the next 12 months.a

Artspeak Radio, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 9am -10am CST, 90.1fm KKFI Kansas City Community Radio, streaming live audio www.kkfi.org Producer/host Maria Vasquez Boyd welcomes artist GK Callahan, John Todd the Radio God. BEN WENDT, musician, & GK CALLAHAN artist.-10th Annual Arts in the Park Festival is a free two-day celebration of creativity, culture, and community at Macken Park in North Kansas City. This year's festival features more than 60 artists and makers, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, a petting zoo, family activities, and, through a partnership with the Kansas City Ethnic Enrichment Commission, cultural performances, traditional dance, music, and food representing communities from across the region. We look forward to celebrating everyone in North Kansas City, and enjoying arts and culture with our neighbors. https://www.artsinthepark.org GK Callahan is a civic artist and Community Arts & Engagement Specialist with the University of Missouri Extension, as well as a member of the North Kansas City Arts in the Park Festival Planning Committee. Ben Wendt, local musician, co-owner of The Rhino, and Arts in the Park committee member who helps coordinate the festival's music programming. JOHN TODD The Radio God- The phrase, “Under the Radar,” literally means to go without attracting notice; in an undetected or secretive manner. But don't let the title of John Todd's radio program fool you. If the bands he plays on air were unnoticed before, they are surely on someone's radar now. John has made it his personal mission to unearth Kansas City's best musicians by giving them the airplay they deserve. On his program, “Under the Radar”, anything goes. From rock to country, folk to funk, there's something here for all. Tune in Sunday night from 10-12 p.m. and let John help you get these under-represented bands on your music radar.
This time of year, the boys are typically talking fishing non-stop. Unfortunately, this week, they were talking about the weather – and the significant lack of fish. They were thankful for the rain, of course, but the combination of conditions was making everything tough. The Old School Kingfish Shootout is on the horizon, and birthday boy Paul Dozier called in to hype it up (like it needs any hype, right?). After that, the conversation shifted to the “interesting” fishing conditions and left everyone asking where the fish were. Ed Malin also called in during the episode to talk about his tournament, the Kingfish Shootout. Now if you’ve been listening for a while, and you’ve heard Ed call in, you know there’s no telling where things are going to go. This time is no different, so buckle up, sit back and enjoy the ride! The guys’ conversation went all over the place, and even went sideways on them when it rolled into hog “delicacies”…don’t ask. Listen, but don’t ask. Here's your L.V. Hiers Inc gear tip of the week from one of our listeners John Jackson: He picked up Extra Tough Cleaner/Degreaser at the Hagan Ace Hardware Christmas Special in Callahan this past year, but hadn’t used it. Fast forward to now – love bug season is upon us and it worked like a charm! Spray on, let is sit for a minute and then wipe them away. Here's your Ring Power Cat tip of the week: AFW SurfStrand 7-strand leader/trolling wire has been showcased as a tip before, but it’s worth sharing again, because so many anglers still use hard wire for king fishing. If you want to cut your tying time by a quarter and save your fingers you need to try this wire! Here’s your KirbyCo Builders’ Cooking Tip of the Week from Producer Chris: Bee Friends Farm produces a huge variety of small-batch honeys right here in Northeast Florida! If you like honey in your coffee, there's nothing better than their Tupelo Honey. Go to beefriendsfarm.com to see their huge selection. Facebook

We talk about what it means to design your own death, the economics of dying with dignity, advance directives, the difference between fearing death and fearing dying, and what a “vigil” actually looks like when done right. We will have some of the most respected leaders from around credit unions who we are grateful to call friends join us in the discussion from time to time too. This week on the podcast, we are happy to welcome back Brent W. Rempe, President and CEO of First Alliance Credit Union. He joins us to discuss the importance of having and modeling values as a leader. Together, we talk about how values are often easy to name but much harder to put into operation, especially when leaders are faced with difficult decisions such as having to have accountability conversations, enact organizational change, and/or balance mission with financial realities.Listen in as Brent shares how his own values were shaped through early life experiences, Catholic social teaching, and years in the credit union movement, and how those influences continue to guide his leadership today as something that must be actively put into practice rather than just documented and/or stated. We also reflect on how values show up in real organizational work—how they are tested in moments of conflict, how they can be clarified via simple grounding questions, and how important it is to separate technical mistakes from deeper values misalignment.Throughout our conversation, we also challenge the idea that values belong solely on a wall or in a strategic plan and instead explore how they become real via consistent behavior, honest reflection, and accountability at every level of leadership—with Brent also walking us through how First Alliance redefined its mission, vision, and values via a collaborative, employee-driven process.Later, we talk about the very real tension between mission and margin, the importance of keeping things simple enough to remember, and why service must be more than a slogan if it's going to be at all meaningful. By the end of our conversation, we land on a shared truth: values are not what an organization claims but are what it does when no one is watching and when decisions get hard. In 1982, American sailor Steven Callahan survived 76 days alone in the Atlantic Ocean after his sailboat sank in the middle of the night. In this episode of the Align Podcast, he joins Aaron to share his mind-blowing story. From catching fish and collecting drinking water to managing fear, loneliness, and physical pain, Steven reflects on the mental and spiritual lessons that emerged during one of the most well-known survival stories ever recorded. He also explores resilience, human adaptability, and what life at sea taught him about purpose, suffering, and connection to the natural world. ALIGN PODCAST EPISODE #595 ========== OUR GUEST ========== Best selling author, marine adventurer, artist, and consultant to Oscar-winning directors, Steven Callahan has built his fifty-year career in the maritime and communications businesses on a rare blend of hands-on, real-world experience, technical know-how, philosophy, and the creative arts. Callahan considers the sea the world's greatest wilderness. He often wrote about adventuresome shorthanded offshore sailing events for maritime audiences, but by exploring the universal human issues and emotions that are amplified at sea and through the stress of survival, Callahan's creative work has been able to span both dedicated marine and general audiences. Adrift, Seventy-Six Days Lost at Sea (Houghton Mifflin) chronicles his 2,000-mile (1,800 nautical mile) survival drift across the Atlantic in a six-foot diameter inflated raft in 1982. ================ STEVEN CALLAHAN ================

Join me and end-of-life doula and author Jane Callahan as we talk about meaningful endings. As she explains, “Because medicine has always been predicated on the idea of fixing, saving, and caring, we began to treat death that way – morphing society's view of death into primarily a medical and physical event, instead of a personal, spiritual, mental, and community-centered experience.” Jane's new book, A Death Doula's Guide to a Meaningful End, explores her experiences both personally and professionally, on how to come to terms with our mortality. EPISODE 712 - Valerie Taylor - A Romantic Comedy Series and A Cozy Series - Write From A Different PerspectiveThis episode features novelist Valerie Taylor discussing her shift from corporate marketing to writing romantic comedies and cozy mysteries, sharing practical advice for aspiring authors on overcoming blocks, building series, and embracing new challenges.Valerie shares a recent encounter at a senior living center craft fair, where she stood out as the only author among crafters. When a woman confessed she was stuck 30 pages into her book, Valerie suggested rewriting a scene from another character's viewpoint. This technique, she explains, refreshes perspective and sparks new ideas, a method she uses in her multi-viewpoint novels to avoid getting bogged down. She warns aspiring writers against thinking they will produce just one book. Finishing and publishing the first creates an addictive high from reader feedback, often leading to more. Valerie's "What's Not" series follows mature protagonist Cassie O'Callahan through dysfunctional marriages, new romances, and travels to Venice, Paris, and Greece. A minor character, Venus Bixby, grew so compelling that she spun off into a cozy mystery series set earlier in a fictional New England whaling town, Chatham Crossing. In the cozies, like "Switched to Death," quirky sleuth Venus runs an oldies music store, cookie bakery, and cat daycare. When the mayor dies at the Christmas tree lighting, her business is implicated, pulling her into the investigation alongside someone she cares about. Valerie notes cozies keep romance "clean," stopping at the bedroom door, making them suitable for teens and adults.Drawing from her marketing background, she details crafting cohesive covers with symbolic motifs and alliterative signposts like "Cats, Cookies, Chaos." Travel research, from walking Venice scenes to emailing Greek wineries, ensures authentic settings. As an introvert, she has adapted to competitive book fairs but prefers intimate craft events.Looking ahead, Valerie eyes shorter forms like Substack essays, historical fiction, or screenplays, drawn by praise for her dialogue. Her newsletter "Behind and Ahead" spotlights global authors and personal updates. She stresses life experience as a superpower for writers of any age.Key takeaway: Writing thrives on fresh perspectives, persistence beyond one book, and new challenges; observe closely, let characters evolve, and treat every project as a chance to grow.https://valerietaylorauthor.com/Send us Fan MailSupport the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca

Bonded To Belief | About Faith | Week 3 | Jared Callahan
On this week's Talkhouse Podcast, we've got an interesting pairing—two guys that hadn't met before, and who come from different parts of the arts world, and who are both pretty damn great at their jobs. It's Bill Callahan and Michael Imperioli. Bill Callahan made music under the name Smog for about 15 years, releasing an incredible catalog of gorgeous, mostly minimal, often wandering songs delivered in his unmistakable baritone. He's one of the most profound lyricists of the past 30 years, crafting careful little worlds that are often funny and heartbreaking at the same time. In 2005, he dropped the Smog moniker and started releasing records under his own name, but there's no obvious break in the continuity. It's a fantastic body of work and you can start almost anywhere: I'd recommend 1999's Knock Knock as an entry point, or maybe 2007's A River Ain't Too Much Too Love, which comes up in this chat. But you could just as easily jump in with Callahan's fantastic new one, My Days of 58, which was finished after a scary cancer battle. In spite of that—or maybe because of it—it's one of Callahan's most relaxed and charming ever. Check out “Why Do Men Sing” right here. Today's other guest is instantly recognizable to fans of The Sopranos as Christopher Moltisanti, the tragic character that surely wouldn't have been nearly as indelible without Michael Imperioli's genius-level portrayal. You've seen him in a million other things, too, from Goodfellas to Summer of Sam—which he also co-wrote—to The White Lotus. What perhaps you didn't know about Imperioli is that he's also a musician. He's the singer/guitarist in a band called ZOPA, which plays catchy, straight-ahead rock that sounds deeply rooted in New York City, which Imperioli still calls home. He also wrote a novel, which comes up in this chat with Callahan, and he's a practicing Buddhist, another topic of conversation. Even though Callahan and Imperioli didn't know each other, they were clearly fans of each other's work. In this chill chat, Michael tells Bill about the exact moment he first heard one of his songs. They also get into Bill's health scare and how it inspired his new record, Michael's kids and what they're up to, and there's a lot of talk about Lou Reed—a guy that inspired them both. Enjoy. 0:00 — Intro 2:35 — Living in Austin & New York 3:34 — On Bill's new record and discovering Smog's past work 5:03 — On birthdays and the Chinese Zodiac 6:34 — On cancer and writing the new album, My Days of 58 8:33 — On Michael's novel, fiction, and inspiration 10:47 — On practicing Buddhism, reincarnation, and monks 16:03 — On raising kids and their musical talents 19:07 — On AI and why human emotion matters in art and work 25:10 — On playing instruments and recording musicians 29:08 — On knowing Lou Reed, and his inspirations 34:35 — On Bill's upcoming tour, and favorite guitars Thanks for listening to the Talkhouse Podcast and thanks to Bill Callahan and Michael Imperioli for chatting. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Preventable Crime Deaths Trump pauses the cabinet meeting to reference the killing of Sheridan Gorman, the 18‑year‑old college student murdered in Chicago by an illegal immigrant. Clay and Buck then detail another shocking case out of New York City involving 83‑year‑old Air Force veteran Richard Williams, who was shoved to his death on subway tracks by an illegal immigrant who had been deported multiple times and had an extensive criminal record. The hosts stress that both crimes were entirely preventable and argue that sanctuary policies are directly responsible. Buck explains that these incidents are not happening in high‑crime zones but in places traditionally considered safe—such as the Upper East Side of Manhattan—demonstrating how far the problem has spread. Clay and Buck argue Democrats refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities even when dealing with violent repeat offenders, choosing ideology over public safety. They stress that illegal immigrants who commit crimes should never be shielded from deportation and that the murder rate of Americans by illegal immigrants should be zero. Manipulating the System Investigative journalist Alex Berenson, who joins the program to discuss what Clay calls one of the most enraging crime stories of the year: a horrific Seattle case involving a repeat violent offender who allegedly murdered an elderly woman during a carjacking and then stabbed her dog to death, only to have his prosecution delayed indefinitely due to claims of mental incompetence. Berenson explains how the suspect, an eight‑time convicted felon with a long criminal record, is now repeatedly cycling between jail and a forensic psychiatric hospital, allegedly stopping his medication to claim incompetency and avoid trial. Berenson contrasts this with another highly publicized Seattle murder in which a man allegedly executed a pregnant woman in her car and was later allowed to plead not guilty by reason of insanity—potentially avoiding permanent incarceration altogether. The discussion highlights what Berenson and the hosts see as a broken system that fails to permanently remove clearly dangerous individuals from society, even when guilt is not meaningfully disputed. The Only Sane Democrat Clay and Buck play audio from a pro‑Iran and pro‑Hamas rally in Philadelphia, where speakers openly cheered the deaths of U.S. soldiers. They contrast that rhetoric with comments from Senator John Fetterman, who sharply criticizes his own party for being “held hostage by the far left,” condemns the DHS shutdown, and highlights the real‑world suffering of TSA agents who have gone six weeks without paychecks. The hosts discuss how devastating such a pay gap would be for most American families and argue that Democrats are deliberately inflicting airport chaos and financial pain on federal workers as leverage to block immigration enforcement. The conversation grows more urgent with breaking news that an improvised explosive device was discovered at MacDill Air Force Base, home to U.S. Central Command and Special Operations Command. Authorities link the incident to Iran‑inspired extremism, adding to a string of recent attempted terror attacks across the country. Clay and Buck argue that this makes the DHS shutdown—and weakened airport security—especially indefensible at a moment of elevated threat. Kennedy Murder/Suicide? Journalist and New York Times bestselling author Maureen Callahan dishes on the explosive popularity of the Ryan Murphy‑produced JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Hulu series, questioning why the show has captured such a large audience—particularly women—and whether its depiction of the Kennedy legacy is fundamentally dishonest. Maureen Callahan, author of Ask Not and host of The Nerve, offers a blistering critique of the Kennedy mythology, arguing that the series whitewashes a deeply dysfunctional family history and obscures decades of documented abuses, narcissism, and media manipulation. She traces how the “Camelot” myth persists despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and explains why Hollywood continues to rehabilitate the Kennedy brand. The conversation intensifies when Callahan lays out her controversial theory regarding the death of John F. Kennedy Jr., asserting—based on official investigation records and well‑documented circumstances—that the fatal plane crash may have been a murder‑suicide driven by personal collapse, recklessness, substance use, and untreated psychological distress. She details Kennedy’s lack of qualification for the flight, warnings from other pilots, his failure to follow aviation protocol, near‑collision with a commercial jet, and the broader context of his unraveling marriage, failing business, and collapsing relationships. Clay and Buck emphasize that, provocative as the theory may sound, Callahan’s claims rely on facts contained in official reports rather than speculation. From there, the hosts and Callahan explore why the show resonates so powerfully, pointing to ’90s nostalgia, pre‑internet media culture, and the enduring Cinderella fantasy. They argue that audiences are drawn to a mythologized version of elite romantic tragedy rather than the far darker and more unsettling reality. The discussion compares the Kennedy myth machine to the fascination Americans have with the British royal family, arguing that modern audiences crave comforting narratives even when they are demonstrably false. Make sure you never miss a second of the show by subscribing to the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton show podcast wherever you get your podcasts! ihr.fm/3InlkL8 For the latest updates from Clay and Buck: https://www.clayandbuck.com/ Connect with Clay Travis and Buck Sexton on Social Media: X - https://x.com/clayandbuck FB - https://www.facebook.com/ClayandBuck/ IG - https://www.instagram.com/clayandbuck/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/c/clayandbuck Rumble - https://rumble.com/c/ClayandBuck TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@clayandbuck YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@VerdictwithTedCruzSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
