The Apostle John, in his Gospel account, chose to identify himself as the “disciple whom Jesus loved.” This decision by John really begs the question of how all of us identify. Are we so caught up in social constructs of value and worth that we mistakenly put our entire identity in the temporal ideas of possessions, relationships, and/ or status? If we really knew we were loved by God, so much so that we made that love our identity, how would that change how we lived our everyday lives? In this powerful and honest conversation Krys shares about her radical view of love developed through trials of childhood trauma, mental health, and a broken marriage. She shares how, through it all, it was as if the Lord was preparing her for where she is now… facing the very real battle of stage 5 metastasized breast cancer. In Feb 2021 she was given 6 months to live with a maximum life expectancy of 2 years. Nevertheless, Krys presses on leaning into her commitment to leave a legacy of love! Every little girl longs for the love of her father, but reconciling the loss of that love as an adult can be challenging.
