Barbara is an active seller on Amazon and is constantly learning. In the 1990s, a new form of communication called “emoticons” was making its debut. There were only a handful of symbols, and Barbara thought it would be a good idea to put an image of the most popular 12 on a mousepad, so people had a handy “cheatsheet” for creating a smiley face right in front of them. Fast forward to 2015, when Barbara first ventured into the “World of Amazon.” As you probably did, she started by sourcing using “retail arbitrage” and “online arbitrage.” After her first Q4 of crazy profit, and equally crazy hours, she quickly realized that building a business based on these sourcing methods was unsustainable. That was her final wakeup call. Now, she's has been buying from wholesale sources for years. She has local and other online sales channels, but didn’t add Amazon as a sales channel until 2015. So she learned years ago how to identify fanatical niche markets, locate great products, and negotiate the best deal with suppliers.
