2-Minute Tip: Textiful   One way to avoid overwhelming and stressing your audience is to make resources available after the fact and to let your audience know those resources will, in fact, be available.   Ari Meisel recommends Textiful for this. With this tool, you can tell your audience to text a key phrase to a specific number. Now you have an automated dialog with the audience member. You can automatically email them your slides, add them to a newsletter mailing list, or set up other follow-up activities.   When you tell your audience about this at the beginning of your talk, that helps them focus more on understanding and thinking about you content instead of just trying to retain all the details.   Post Tip Discussion: Meet Ari Meisel   Ari Meisel speaks around the country about being an Overwhelmologist and helping founders replace themselves in organizations. Regardless of your role in an organization, though, there is a lot of wisdom in Ari’s approach. Bio   Ari is the best-selling author of

What happens when you are sick? You know, for more than one day (for one day, you get the benefit of just being sick and trying to sleep as much as you can), like sick for a week? What did you do? What if you were sick and feeling miserable for a lot longer… like a LOT longer? You might get angry. You might start cursing the world. You might just give up hope. And that’s exactly what this week’s guest, Ari Meisel, did when he was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease… …then he got better! Not physically right away, but in his brain he realized that he had to make some changes. So he did. He started realizing that there were ways to be able to get things done easier than he was doing them before. Then he realized that this was something that he could help other people do! So he started an empire. No, really, he started a freaking empire helping people do less work than they ever did before. And if you are wondering what that statement means, it means that you need to subscribe to Ari’s podcast “Doing Less with Ari Meisel” and get his books “The Art of Less Doing” and his new one “The Replaceable Founder” and find out why starting a business and being the boss doesn’t necessarily mean that is all you are going to do with your life… you can live a complete life away from work as well! We discuss: - Using surrogates - Why bald people all look the same - Getting rid of small tasks and eventually big ones - Good & bad experiences with coaching - Curing Crohn’s - Ari’s 9 books - Why business is not like family, but more like a team - Crashing in planes (twice!) Then we decide on one of these sketches, find out which one next week! 1. A Pilot outsourcing his job in the middle of a crash. 2. Multi-generational company transitioning to a younger generation in an odd business model. 3. Performance-enhancing drugs for horses being brought to humans. Ari co-founded the Less Doing where he works on making every task in life and business more efficient. In 2006, Ari was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Crohn's is an incurable disease of the digestive tract. Ari's case was severe, and required over a dozen daily medications and several hospital visits. After reaching a personal low point in hospital, Ari decided he would do everything in his power to strengthen his by then weak body. Through a combination of yoga, nutrition, natural supplements and rigorous exercise (Triathon and Crossfit) he was able to fight back the symptoms of Crohns until he was finally able to suspend his medication. Eventually Ari was declared free of all traces of the ‘incurable' disease, and competed in Ironman France in June of 2011. Ari has since spoken at seminars and at a regional TED Talk about his struggle against a seemingly insurmountable opponent. Through the process of data collection, self tracking, and analysis, Ari helped develop Less Doing. Crohn’s is an incurable disease of the digestive tract. Ari’s case was severe, and required over a dozen daily medications and several hospital visits. Eventually Ari was declared free of all traces of the ‘incurable’ disease, and competed in Ironman France in June of 2011. Ari has since spoken at seminars and at a regional TED Talk about his struggle against a seemingly insurmountable opponent. Through the process of data collection, self tracking, and analysis, Ari helped develop Less Doing. This was a way of dealing with the daily stresses of life by optimizing, automating, and outsourcing all of his tasks in life and business.Ari Meisel now resides in Bridgehampton, NY with his wife Anna, three sons Benjamin, Sebastien, and Lucas, and two dogs Sylvain and Oscar.Ari is the best-selling author of "The Art of Less Doing", and "The Replaceable Founder." Could your business keep going (and growing) if you took a vacation or had to take time off for any reason? Do you feel like you’re constantly hustling and having to “catch up” if you take any type of break? Have you hit a plateau in your business and how many you can serve (and especially, serve WELL)? Sorry to break it to you, but now that you’re growing, what worked when you got started, won’t get you where you want to go. In fact, YOU might the bottleneck holding your business back. As our friend and mentor, Ari Meisel says, “when a business is first starting out, it needs a strong founder in the trenches that isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. But for a business to scale, it needs solid systems and processes, an empowered team, and a replaceable founder who is free to focus on the future.” In this episode, Ari shares with us how he helps founders to get out of the weeds and spend their time working ON their business rather than IN it. This is a value-packed conversation (as all conversations with Ari are!), so be sure to listen now or bookmark for later. Ari is the best-selling author of "The Art of Less Doing", and "The Replaceable Founder." He is a self-described Overwhelmologist whose insights into personal and professional productivity have earned him the title, "The Guru's Guru."
