Calling this mix my “Midnight Electronica Mix” . Story behind this name & mix is ... initial plan was to make a set showcasing some of my recent discovery and love for the Indian Electronica sounds that I have been feeling lately, but then an hour into the set - I got into the zone and didn't want to stop the journey . The love for the sound kept me going for ...one more hour & as a result , here's presenting my first nonstop 2 hour set ever ! Listen in, let me know your thoughts as it's an experimental 2 hour set featuring lots of underground leftfield music , eclectic sounds & genres like Progressive House , Acid House , Techno, Deep House , Electro House - in short , it's a vibe

This episode of In The End is a recording of The Awful and Awesome Entertainment Wrap with Neswlaundry. This week on The Awful and Awesome Entertainment Wrap, Abhinandan Sekhri is joined by Amrita Roy and Aditya Relangi to discuss Season 3 of the series Atypical, Tamil movies Asuran and Kaithi, the album Khulle Naagde by the Bandish Projekt, and three advertisements which have become the talk of the town. Referring to Atypical, Amrita says the sitcom series is “more representative of the world we live in”. “It’s brave to pick up a subject like this because it’s very easy to get it wrong,” she adds. Aditya applauds the makers of Asuran for the intense visuals of the film. Up next is the Knorr soup commercial starring Karan Johar. Amrita argues that it is a “fine, lowkey and funny ad” that is also progressive. “KJo maintains his way of making fun of his wishy-washy stand on being homosexual,” she notes. The panellists also laud the latest Australia Tourism ad as having the perfect ingredients to attract an Indian audience. The discussion moves on to a major Tamil release of 2019, Kaithi. Aditya argues, “Kaithi is a gritty film, a suspense thriller, they were able to hold the suspense through the entire 2.5-hour film.” This episode also features the bilingual Netflix documentary American Factory, the Citibank ad plagiarism row, and Bandish Projekt’s Khulle Naagde album.

Nucleya entered the scene as half of Bandish Projekt, along with friend and long-time collaborator Mayur Narvekar, while still in eleventh standard. “There wasn’t a huge audience,” he says. “I was in Ahmedabad. I’m talking, mid-nineties, late nineties. So at that time, we were just making music and giving it out to our friends (...) We could go into a store and buy CDs, and the only CDs we could buy was some trance stuff, and because of that our early musical influence was a little underground.” As the sound grew and evolved, much of his work took on a distinctly dubstep flavor: “When I moved to Delhi, I was really into dubstep. I did that for a long time, but lately it’s become a little chaotic in terms of basslines. For example, when you listen to a Skrillex track, there’s melody in it. But most of the dubstep that you pick up now, it doesn’t have that melody. So I actually stopped playing it.” That change roughly coincided with Nucleya’s departure from Bandish Projekt, new studies of Indian Classical, and movement towards a more domestically sourced sonic palate. And that's obvious in his works. Nucleya is a full time purveyor of original and upfront Indian bass music, pushing forward a sound truly unique to him and this Wild City mix is no different. Hopping through various styles and tempos it runs through a number of unreleased and exclusive tracks, as well as classics that you're sure to recognise if you've seen him play live at any point this year. "This mix features a lot of unreleased music which I've carefully selected and crafted within the set. I've done a lot of genre hopping in order to try and keep tracks in harmony. I've also made this mix to celebrate Skream and Benga's imminent Indian tour, as well as the fact that they are making music exactly the way they want it, which makes me believe in my music even more." - Nucleya For a tracklist and further info, head over here: http://www.thewildcity.com/EN/music.xhtml/article/4072-wild-city-057-nucleya

Originally formed in 1997 by Mayur Narvekar, Udyan Sagar (better known as Nucleya) and Mehirr Nath Choppra, Bandish Projekt is an act that successfully blends Indian folk elements with cutting edge electronica. Although no longer a 3-piece, Bandish Projekt still strives to push forward thinking Indian sounds via its one founding member Mayur Narvekar, a Mumbai based composer, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist. This Friday (November 23) Narvekar is set to release 'Correkt Remixed', an EP showcasing remixes from his debut 'Correkt' LP released back in 2009. Producers featured on the EP include Nick Bee (Ukraine), Sound Avtar (India) and Skope (UK) as well as upcoming Indian producer and winner of the Folktronic/Bandish Projekt remix competition, The Memekeeper. “Mayur has been a positive influence to my musical journey ever since I was exposed to the sound of Bandish Projekt. For me, he both defines and defies the Indian electronic scene like no one else. My attempt of a re-take at one of his tracks was inspired by this understanding.” - The Memekeeper In support of the release we've sourced an exclusive mix form Narvekar. Kick starting with the sounds of Flying Lotus and cruising through to deeper and more techy sounds, his Wild City mix runs through tracks from this likes of Deru, Case4Concern, Noisia, Culprate and even Mosillator, Mayur's production alter ego. If his upcoming DJ sets on the road resemble this mix in the least, Banidsh Projekt is going to leave a lot of happy dancefloor revellers in his wake. “This is a special mix produced especially for the Wild City listeners and is one of my most experimental mixes to date. You get to hear tracks from a wide range of current bass and electronic music producers from all over the world. A big thanks to Wild City and all the listeners for the continued love and support. Enjoy the mix and play it loud!” - Bandish Projekt For a tracklist and further info, head over here: http://www.thewildcity.com/EN/music.xhtml/article/2973-wild-city-043-bandish-projekt
