Things continue to unspool on Vintage Cinema Rewind. Blake and Michael are back with their Deep Dive on Robert Altman's satirical masterpiece: Nashville! The whole city is in uproar as Barbara Jean's mental health continues to deteriorate. Which is not to say that the rest of our cast of thousands is faring much better. Warnings are ignored. Affairs are plotted. Women are exploited. And all the while, that strange, greasy third-party politician is still consolidating his own power. As poor Barbara Jean is forced onto the stage, can the Bicentennial go off without a hitch? Will the American Dream finally sour? Or has it already long-since spoiled? Barbara Jean Carey is a certified hypnotherapist whose private practice spans both Malibu and Seasons Recovery Center, where she works with everyone from NFL players to CEOs using tools like NLP, guided imagery, past-life regression, and hypnosis. She's been featured on Dr. Phil, TLC, Bravo, Discovery, and The History Channel. In this episode, Barbara breaks down something most of us have never considered. The age we are when we experience something determines what level of consciousness we're operating from, and the programming we pick up in childhood doesn't just fade. It runs in the background, quietly directing choices we think we're making freely. We get into what maladaptive programming actually is, how it gets installed when we're young, and more importantly how to recognize it in your own life. Barbara also walks us through exactly how she guides clients through a hypnotherapy session to locate what's holding them back at the subconscious level and replace it with something that actually serves them.If you've ever wondered why you keep repeating the same patterns no matter how hard you try, this one's worth a listen.Today's episode is brought to you by Seasons in Malibu. For over 18 years, Seasons has been a sanctuary for individuals seeking to reclaim their lives from addiction and mental health challenges. Our story began with a simple but profound vision: To create a luxurious sanctuary for individuals struggling with addiction or mental health issues, where they can receive the finest, evidence-based treatment in the world.Built on Compassion, Driven by ExcellenceWhat started as a small number of compassionate professionals has grown into one of the nation's most respected luxury treatment centers. But growth has never meant losing sight of what matters most—the individual engaging with our therapists, one-on-one, taking the courageous first step toward healing. From the beginning, we understood that truly transformative treatment requires more than clinical protocols. It demands a personalized approach, led by the most qualified professionals, in an environment that nurtures the whole person. That's why we've assembled a team where every primary therapist holds a Doctorate in Psychology - a distinction virtually unmatched in our field.Check out Seasons Malibu online or call 1-866-314-5160 for more information.Connect with Seasons on Instagram Connect with Barbara CareyDM me on InstagramMessage me on FacebookListen AD FREE & workout with me on Patreon Connect with me on TikTokEmail me chasingheroine@gmail.comSee you next week!

In the late afternoon of July 12, 1988 the neighborhood search for four year old Barbara Jean Horn would end abruptly after the girl's body was discovered completely washed and nude in a television box just over a quarter of a mile from her home. The hunt for the man that committed the horrific crime and the subsequent trials that would follow would expose other wrong doings and injustices in the city of Philadelphia. July 12, 1988. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Four-year old Barbara Jean Horn disappears from the front yard of her home before her nude body is discovered inside a cardboard box resting on a curb in the same neighbourhood. Nearly four years later, a suspect named Walter Ogrod, who had lived across the street from Barbara Jean's residence, is arrested after he confesses to her murder and after two trials, he is convicted and sentenced to death. However, Walter claims his confession was coerced by corrupt police detectives and there are numerous allegations of misconduct and serious issues with his conviction. In 2020, after a new review is performed of the case, Walter's conviction is overturned. While he is finally released from death row and fully exonerated, no one else is charged with the crime. Last week, in Part One of our series about the murder of Barbara Jean Horn, we shared the basic facts about the case. This week, in Part Two, we will attempt to analyze and break down this crime by sharing all the different theories about what happened, as well as explore some other wrong conviction cases which took place in Philadelphia during this time period and involved the same law enforcement figures who put Walter Ogrod in prison. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Philadelphia Police Department's tip line at (215) 686-TIPS (8477). On July 12th, 1988, in Philadelphia, 4-year-old Barbara Jean Horn went outside to play. She was trying to find some of her friends to play with, but no one was home. This seemingly normal day turned into a nightmare when she went missing. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the disappearance and murder of Barbara Jean Horn. A witness saw her walking with a man who seemed to be leading her by the elbow. Less than two hours after she was officially listed as missing, her body was found inside a television box which had been set next to someone's trash cans. There have been a few suspects through the years but so far no one has been held accountable for Barbara Jean Horn's murder.
