This week, we're revisiting Thomas' conversation with Esther Perel, a renowned psychotherapist, NYT bestselling author, and host of the podcast “Where Should We Begin?” They're also joined by her husband, Jack Saul, an artist, author, and psychologist. It's a deep discussion on working with trauma survivors, the healing power of creativity, and addressing the impacts of intergenerational trauma in therapy.Esther defines the “erotic” as a feeling of aliveness and vibrancy that transcends the context of romance. She shares how embracing this fundamental part of our humanity helps us survive traumatic circumstances and release the constriction and expectation of harm that often accompanies trauma. This is a powerful conversation that highlights how individual healing is deeply intertwined with collective healing, moving our understanding of therapeutic experiences beyond the isolated office into a shared space of transformation. It's one of our favorite conversations that we aired in the early days of Point of Relation, and we're excited to share it with you.✨ Click here to watch the video version of this episode on YouTube:

This isn't about shaming you. It's about helping you understand your own mind — so you can stop sabotaging something good.

Most men carry shame. But they don't talk about it—especially when it comes to sex. They were raised to be "good boys," "nice guys," and "respectful partners"... but underneath that, many are dealing with something toxic: sexual shame. It wrecks their confidence. It kills their desire. And it silently poisons their relationships. In this video, I break down how sexual shame develops in men, how it fuels codependency and dead bedrooms, and what it takes to finally own who you are as a man—without guilt, without apology.
The Mindset of a Cheating Man: Why Men Cheat & Their Justifications “Pain may explain behavior, but it never justifies harm.” — Lora Cheadle What's really going on inside the mindset of a cheating man? Why do men betray the ones they love—and then create endless justifications for cheating? In this episode, betrayal recovery coach Lora Cheadle exposes the truth: cheating is never about you. It's about their fragile need for validation, their desire to numb pain, their sense of entitlement, and unresolved trauma. By breaking down the difference between reasons and justifications, and unpacking shocking statistics about infidelity, this conversation frees you from shame and isolation. Because while cheating may be explainable, it is never justifiable. Top 3 Takeaways: The shocking truth about justification: Cheaters don't give reasons—they invent justifications to make themselves feel okay about doing something they know is wrong. This changes everything about how you interpret what he says. Cheating as numbing, not desire: Affairs aren't about attraction or sex. They're often about avoiding failure, loneliness, or unresolved pain. Cheating is a maladaptive coping strategy—another way to not feel. The delusional mindset revealed: From childhood trauma to fragile egos, many cheating men live in a self-created fantasy world where betrayal feels “necessary.” Understanding this breaks the shame cycle and helps you reclaim your power. Relationships have the power to change lives in ways both visible and hidden. Deep, supportive bonds can quiet inflammation in the body, protect against disease, and anchor people through decades of triumphs and trials. Communities that come together—whether in small groups at a church or around a shared health goal—often achieve far more than individuals working alone, sometimes transforming their health on a massive scale. Lifelong friends celebrate each other's victories without jealousy, weather hardship side by side, and dare to speak difficult truths even at the risk of the relationship. Yet, many remain in unfulfilling connections out of fear of loneliness, forgetting that genuine, vulnerable connection is not just emotionally nourishing—it is essential to human health and resilience. In this episode, I talk with Simon Sinek, Esther Perel, and Angelika Alana about how relationships are vital not just for emotional health, but for physical wellbeing and can be a great source of growth and healing. Simon is a spark that ignites passion and ideas. He envisions a world where people wake up inspired, feel safe, and end their day fulfilled. As an unshakeable optimist and trained ethnographer, Simon is fascinated by people and organizations that make a lasting impact. He has discovered remarkable patterns in how they think, act, and communicate, revealing how people perform at their best. Simon is widely known for his TED Talk on "WHY" and his viral video on millennials in the workplace. Through bestselling books like Start with WHY and his podcast A Bit of Optimism, he continues to inspire. Founder of The Optimism Company and Optimism Press, Simon shares innovative views on leadership, attracting international attention. He also works with the U.S. government, the RAND Corporation, and in 2021, founded The Curve to reform modern policing, advancing justice with dignity, equity, and fairness. Psychotherapist and New York Times bestselling author Esther Perel is recognized as one of today's most insightful and original voices on modern relationships. Fluent in nine languages, she helms a therapy practice in New York City and serves as an organizational consultant for Fortune 500 companies around the world. Her celebrated TED Talks have garnered more than 30 million views and her bestselling books, Mating in Captivity and The State of Affairs, are global phenomena translated into nearly 30 languages. Esther is also an executive producer and host of the popular podcasts Where Should We Begin? and How's Work? Her latest project is Where Should We Begin - A Game of Stories with Esther Perel. Angelika Alana is the founder and CEO of the Somatic Healing Institute. She has been featured in Vanity Fair, Well+Good, and Modern Luxury. She certifies coaches and facilitators in her transformational body-based healing method. She has traveled and studied extensively in Indonesia, Brazil, Australia, and the UK, and is a massive foodie with her husband Patrick Drake, co-founder of Hello Fresh. On January 1st, 1963, the bodies of Dr. Gilbert Bogle and Margaret Chandler were found on the banks of the Lane Cove River in Sydney, Australia. The “Bogle-Chandler Mystery” became infamous due to the circumstances in which the bodies were found and because the cause of death could not be established. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the Bogle-Chandler mystery. Affairs, open marriages, an unidentified third person, and the way the two deceased individuals were found made this a very salacious case. The mystery lies in the fact that the medical examiner couldn't say for sure how the couple died, although he did rule their deaths unnatural. All of this had led to a multitude of theories over the years, with one seemingly gaining more traction than the rest. You can help support the show at patreon.com/truecrimeallthetimeVisit the show's website at truecrimeallthetime.com for contact, merchandise, and donation informationAn Emash Digital productionSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
