Damien Donohoe and Paul Fitzpatrick break down the Cork's strengths and weaknesses and what needs to happen if Cavan are to gain promotion. We also dive into the chaos in Leitrim and the fallout from Steven Poacher's outspoken comments, where he not only attacks previous management teams but openly questions the culture under Terry Hyland. Kingspan has been heavily criticised in the final report into the Grenfell disaster. 72 people died in the 2017 blaze. The report found Kingspan and two other firms engaged in a deliberate strategy to mislead the market about their products. The Irish company produced only 5% of the tower's combustible foam but has been accused of “knowingly” misleading authorities about the results of tests done on the product. Kingspan sponsors Ulster Rugby and Cavan GAA. Ciarán Dunbar is joined by Belfast Telegraph reporter Liam Tunney. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

In 2016 Cavan GAA changed the structure of the club championships and reduced the top heavy participation in the senior and intermediate grades. Damien and Paul discuss if this has lead to a better standard of footballer for Cavan. We also keep you up to date on Aishling Sheridan's progress with Collingwood after round 2 and look back on Cavan's championship performances in the last decade. It looks better in hindsight.
Collingwood Football Club and Cavan GAA star Aishling Sheridan spoke to Caradh on iScore today following the first game of the 2021 season, which saw Collingwood get the win over rivals Carlton Women's on Thursday. The Cavan woman also kicked the first goal of the season in the AFLW. “I'm delighted to get the win and then obviously the goal” she told iScore today.“I'm not going to lie, I was very nervous and I was talking to myself like…'Aishling you can't miss this”.The 2021 AFLW competition got underway this week and this season sees a total of fourteen Irish women involved. The rise in the number of GAA players making the move to the AFLW was highlighted last year when former Mayo Manager Peter Leahy told Mid West radio “there is a time that you should put your county first.” When asked her thoughts on players having to choose semi-professional football over their county Sheridan said that “it's quite unfair”. “I was welcomed back onto the county team.“When the opportunity comes to you to play semi-professional sport, experience a professional environment, like, it's very hard to tell girls not to take that opportunity. “If anything it develops you more as an athlete and a footballer”.
