Fresh off their second straight Rugby Championship title win, the Springboks will TODAY face Japan at Wembley Stadium in London. Captain Siya Kolisi will play his 99th Test match, leaving him only one game short of becoming the ninth Springbok centurion in the history of the game. South Africa and Japan have only faced each other three times, with Japan winning the first encounter in 2015 and the Springboks claiming victory twice in 2019. Eddie Jones, who secured Japan's only win over South Africa, has returned as the Brave Blossoms' head coach and belives his side can humiliate the Boks again. Kick off is at 10 past 6 this evening. Meanwhile in local soccer, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are set to meet for the third time this season in an eagerly awaited Betway Premiership clash at a sold out Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria THIS AFTERNOON. The two giants of South African football have already faced each other twice this season during the MTN8 semi-final, where the Buccaneers triumphed on penalties after both legs ended in a 1-1 draw. Kick-off for the match is set for 3:30pm, and the game will be televised on SABC 1. To look at these intriguing matches we are joined on the line by Simon Burke, SABC sports reporter

23 years from their last major honour, Norwich City found themselves parading the League Cup around Wembley Stadium. With mid-table safety a seeming certainty, it looked as if it would be a campaign of glory and consolidation. With only two wins from their last 12 it turned to last-day despair. How it happened and how they came back is the story of this week's episode as Martyn is joined by historian and biographer Edward Couzens-Lake. On this episode of Lipps Service, Scott sits down with one of the biggest names in country today – Jordan Davis! Jordan's newest album, Learn The Hard Way, was just released, and it features other amazing country artists, such as Marcus King on the track “Louisiana Sticks”. Jordan's gearing up for his upcoming headlining tour, and he'll be on the road playing hit venues like Red Rocks and Wembley Stadium. The conversation kicks off with how country music is becoming more mainstream, with artists such as Post Malone and Lana Del Rey coming into the scene. He also reflects on the music legends who've inspired him, such as John Prine, Jason Isbell, Smashing Pumpkins, and Tom Petty. Jordan talks about what it was like growing up in Louisiana with musicians in his family, and explores how country music impacted his musical upbringing. Jordan also highlights the new record and what it's like playing large shows at venues like Radio City Music Hall. He talks about his song with Marcus King and how they added new elements into the track. The conversation closes with Jordan listing his top 5 podcast series, his favorite new country artists, and his favorite burger spots in the US. One winter's night, Alex James received an unexpected call. Blur had been invited to play their biggest gig ever: Wembley Stadium. The only trouble was, he and his bandmates hadn't spoken to – or even shouted at – each other for years. And he now had five children, an out-of-control menagerie of cats, and a sprawling farm to run. This is the story of what happened next. Taking us behind the scenes of a raucous, rollercoaster year, Alex tells Times journalist and bestselling author Caitlin Moran how the band made a surprise – and emotional – return, recording an acclaimed album and playing sold-out shows around the world, from Colchester to Colombia and beyond. Plus: how he went on a crash diet to fit back into his ‘Britpop Trousers,' a chastening encounter with the President of Columbia, and the magical story behind She's So High. Liverpool suffered defeat in the Community Shield as they were beaten on penalties by Crystal Palace on Sunday. Arne Slot's men failed in the shootout after playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Wembley Stadium. And Reds reporter David Lynch believes they can have few complaints over not winning a largely even game. He highlights defensive concerns as key to that, with Liverpool too easily taken apart on the break. However, there were also several major positives, including the contributions of new signings Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. Check out this review of the game and let us know your thoughts on the talking points in the comment section below. "Americans have a long history of taking British things and ballsing them up. They took football and added helmets and cheerleaders; they took ice lollies and called them popsicles; and they took James Corden and then sent him back here."Among Ashley's more unusual hyperfixations is a life-long love of professional wrestling. This special interest was first developed on Saturday afternoons at his grandparents' house watching Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki. It continued through the 1980s when Britain was invaded by Hulk Hogan and his colleagues from the then WWF (before they lost a court case to the World Wildlife Fund), and Ashley was fortunate enough to be in attendance at the legendary Summerslam show at Wembley Stadium in 1992, which so many British wrestlers have cited as the day that cemented their love of the grunt and grapple business. This undeniably extraordinary spectacle is sometimes called ‘sports entertainment' - for many people it is neither! When Ashley Blaker was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, one of the most significant aspects of his diagnosis is his propensity for hyperfixation in special interests, which he now realises has entirely shaped his past and which he uses to mine comedy for this new series. It's no exaggeration to say Ashley's life has been driven by obsessions. He has variously been a schoolboy with a love of Star Wars and Doctor Who, a wannabe comedian who performed on the London comedy circuit at 16, a trivia nerd who appeared on University Challenge, a history PhD candidate at Cambridge, a BBC producer of hit comedy shows including Little Britain, a fanatical football fan who saw Liverpool play across England and Europe, a strictly Orthodox Jew who went to synagogue three times a day for over ten years, a father of six, and latterly, a heavily tattooed renegade in hiding from his former community. In this series, Ashley takes a comedic look at each of his obsessions in turn, merging personal memoir with a delve into subjects which have yet to be covered in stand-up comedy shows. The result is a series which, while based on the broader topic of neurodiversity, covers it with the lightest of touches and is focused more on Ashley's individual hyperfixations, lifting the lid on many of the different worlds he's inhabited.Written and performed by Ashley Blaker co-starring Rosie Holt and Kieran HodgsonScript Editor: Steve Hall Recording engineers: Jerry Peal and Jon Calver Producer: Steve Doherty A Giddy Goat production for BBC Radio 4
In July 1985, music legends Mick Jagger and David Bowie were asked to perform a duet with a twist at Live Aid, the biggest concert in pop history. Utilising the latest satellite technology, Mick would perform on the US stage in Philadelphia, while David would perform on the UK stage at Wembley Stadium. As the technical issues were being discussed, it soon became obvious that a half-second delay in the link between cities would prevent the live performance from happening, so a recording was planned instead. A short list of songs was discussed before the duo finally settled on the Motown classic Dancing in the Street. Live Aid press officer Bernard Doherty tells Des Shaw how the duet and video were recorded in just 18 hours and became a highlight of the benefit concert on 13 July 1985. A Zinc Media production.Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive. Witness History is for those fascinated by the past. We take you to the events that have shaped our world through the eyes of the people who were there. For nine minutes every day, we take you back in time and all over the world, to examine wars, coups, scientific discoveries, cultural moments and much more. We look at the lives of some of the most famous leaders, artists, scientists and personalities in history, including: visionary architect Antoni Gaudi and the design of the Sagrada Familia; Michael Jordan and his bespoke Nike trainers; Princess Diana at the Taj Mahal; and Görel Hanser, manager of legendary Swedish pop band Abba on the influence they've had on the music industry. You can learn all about fascinating and surprising stories, such as the time an Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes at the President of the United States in protest of America's occupation of Iraq; the creation of the Hollywood commercial that changed advertising forever; and the ascent of the first Aboriginal MP.(Photo: Mick Jagger and David Bowie performing Dancing In The Street.
