In this episode of the Kate Hamilton Health Podcast, I'm breaking down one of the most overlooked (but really important) combos for better digestion and lasting fullness - protein, fiber, and water. We always hear about the importance of protein, especially for muscle and metabolism, but without enough fiber and hydration, your digestion can easily get off track.I'm sharing how to hit your protein goals without overdoing it, where to find the best sources of fibre, and why drinking enough water is the missing link for smoother digestion and balanced blood sugar. Plus, I'll walk you through simple ways to tweak your diet without discomfort - no crash changes or extreme plans here. Whether you're trying to manage your weight, improve gut health, or just feel more energised, this episode will give you the tools to do it.EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:[0:00] - Why good digestion starts with the right balance[1:20] - How protein supports muscle and metabolism[4:52] - Why fibre is the perfect partner for protein[12:03] - Water's underrated role in digestion and satiety[14:15] - My final thoughts on creating a digestion-friendly routineLinks & Resources: Connect with me on Instagram here Join the KHH coaching waitlist hereIf you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with friends who might benefit. Click here to send me a quick message :) We spend so many of our cycling years trying NOT to get pregnant - whether that's on hormonal contraception, non-hormonal IUD's, using barrier methods or with Fertility Awareness Method. So, when we finally decide that we want to try to conceive, we just assume it will be easy -- particularly if we're younger, healthy and have no obvious conditions that would get in the way of pregnancy. But more and more we're seeing fertility challenges. And unfortunately, it's something that many people feel embarrassment or shame around so it's not widely talked about (except in TTC communities).I've talked to a friend and a client recently who are both currently TTC. One is 27, overall healthy and has an uncomplicated picture (but doesn't have much fertile cervical fluid and her cycles are longer than optimal). The other is 40 and has a current partner whose sperm count and motility is sub-optimal. Everyone has a different story, and while there's no guarantee, there is so much that is possible to support optimizing fertility. But where do you get good information to determine what actually works and what doesn't? How does stress actually impact fertility? What are the MOST important nutritional considerations to encourage egg and sperm health?Liane Moccia, author of The Herbal Fertility Handbook, shares about all this and more on today's episode. She experienced her own fertility journey while TTC which ended up in failed IVF cycles and eventually, after some nutritional and lifestyle tweaking, a successful cycle and her now 17 year old twin daughters! And now she's written a book blending her embodied experience, years of fertility-focused clinical practice and current research to offer insights into what works and what doesn't to support fertility holistically. Whether you're interested in getting pregnant someday, just curious about how to support your hormones overall or exploring assisted fertility, this conversation is perfect for you!Resources:Today's shownotes: Get links to Liane's book and websiteFree - Start tracking your cycle with FAM guideEpisode 35: A fertility story: from endo to pregnancy with Sarah ShapiroEpisode 80: Cultivating receptivity Interested in Natural Contraception? It's been a big time for Formula 1 these past few days, we've had the launch of Brad Pitt's long-awaited F1 movie coming straight after a triple header (that we managed to miss, but RIP the Groundhog) and then heading to Austria for what promised to be a shoot-out at RedBull's home track.Well it didn't exacly pan out well for the team that gives you wiiings after all that (also Max didn't turn up to the movie premier in NYC either), but once again we saw a dominant performance from McLaren, who really have made THE car of 2025, leaving everyone else scabbling to pick up what they can from the race. This week on the podcast there's some of your thoughts on the F1 movie, with a couple of spoilers (but there's a timer so you can skip through them) and the ups and downs of an Austrian Grand Prix that started with a fire and kind of went on from there.Sorry for the radio silence again, between covid, flu (thought it was meant to be Summer right now?) and various festivals and gigs we've either all not been able to be in the same place or speak for what seems like months! To make up for it, we recorded an extra show this week for our Patreon subscribers, that you can listen to if you sign up hereIf you want to join in with the chat during the races (along with practice and qualifying) head over to our Discord where there's always a great crowd of people to watch along with. And on the socials weve got our Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky & Twitter (or is it X) and Paul's attempts at Sim Racing on our Twitch channelEnjoy
Fresh off her second Camino walk, Lisa tackles the question everyone's thinking but not asking: What's the actual difference between coaching and therapy? And why do successful, exhausted people often find therapy keeps them stuck while coaching propels them forward? Here's the real difference:Therapy is past-focused—diving into what happened to you, processing trauma, gaining insights about how things impacted you. You talk about the problem, get some insight, then leave.Coaching is future-focused—where are you now, where do you want to go, and what needs to shift to get you there? It's about identity shifts, accountability, and taking action.Lisa's approach is different because she coaches to your context, not your content. She's not listening to your circumstances—she's hearing the patterns underneath your words. Because the problem you think you have? It's usually not the problem you actually have.Think about money. Instead of talking about your financial struggles, Lisa asks: "If money were a person, what kind of relationship would you have with them?" Then you step into the identity of someone who treats money with reverence. That's how she became debt-free—identity shift first, results follow. You might need therapy if: You're dealing with clinical depression, trauma, or severe anxiety. You're ready for coaching if: You feel stuck despite having it all, keep repeating the same patterns, have done years of therapy but aren't gaining momentum, or you're ready to stop being a victim of your circumstances and start taking responsibility for your future. The bottom line: Coaching isn't something you need—it's something you want because you love what it brings to your life and how it helps you expand into more. Ready to explore what's possible?Lisa has openings this summer and fall, plus Reclamation (her signature program) is open for registration. In this explosive interview, I sit down with Zuby — rapper, author, and unapologetic cultural commentator — to talk about everything from the collapse of traditional values to why the First and Second Amendments are under attack.
