Clip of the Week-"Looking Unto Jesus" Brother Jeff Price Bro. Jeff Price opens this sermon reading from Hebrews 12, “Looking unto Jesus.” He moves to Philippians 2 and reads about Jesus “humbling himself.” To leave heaven and be confined in the flesh of a man would have been a tremendous humiliation in and of itself, but this man of Galilee, the “Son of Man,” was born of a virgin, laid in a manger, grew up in Nazareth with a family of low estate, and became the “man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.” Bro. Jeff takes us on to see other manifestations of Jesus Christ; a vision of judgment with the Son of God in the midst of the candlesticks, showing the wrath of the Lamb, an awesome display of his power and righteousness, and the picture of Christ as the cleansing fountain for the “healing of the nations.” Listen and be encouraged, and join us in “looking unto Jesus”.  Clip of the Week-"I Like Your Christ" Brother Jeff Price Bro. Jeff in the 2006 Atlanta feast meeting evaluates the popular quote “I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians”. Perhaps this bumper sticker slogan has more merit than we like to admit as Jesus' teaching is so contrary to the natural man. Jesus' mission was to glorify His Father and He taught faithfully regardless to whether the audience was a one-on-one with the woman at the well or the crowds that followed Him into the wilderness. Are we rich toward God or are we laying up treasures for ourselves? “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt hath lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” – Matt 5:13 Brother David Cosby

In the 2017 Wilmington Feast Meeting, Bro. Jeff Price reminds us that Jesus' life had an undeniably more profound impact than any man with just his spoken word. After the miracles of the loaves and fishes, Jesus said “Labor not for the meat that perisheth”. As they were seeking food, we can also seek to serve God for the benefits and blessings, rather than being motivated by sincere love, sacrifice, true commitment, and service from the heart. Without His drawing and the true love of God, would-be Christians will disperse as the crowds did when the loaves and fishes ended. When the crowd left, it didn't seem to bother Jesus; he understood their heart. The question Jesus asked his disciples still applies today; “Will you also go away?” – Bro. David Cosby

So often as leaders we can feel like we have to have our life all together. We can't look weak, or that we are struggling or overwhelmed. Because people are coming to us for support and help. What kind of help would we be if we were a mess. But, I want to dispel the myth that struggling as a supporter is going to negatively impact the care you offer. The research tells us the opposite. Not only will you likely become more empathetic to the struggles of others, but by appropriately being authentic with those you support you can offer more effective support. Spotify suddenly deletes comedy albums: Could it be sued for $100 million-plus? (Talking Trends)

Welcome to the latest episode of Talking Trends, the weekly podcast from Music Business Worldwide – where we go deep behind the headlines of news stories affecting the entertainment industry. Talking Trends is supported by Voly Music. This week on Talking Trends, MBW founder, Tim Ingham, explains why Spotify deleted a swathe of comedy albums from its service over the Thanksgiving weekend – and why it might be at the mercy of big-money lawsuits in the weeks and months ahead.Ingham (pictured) explains that two prominent companies now operating in the world of comedy royalty collection and administration – Word Collections and Spoken Giants – are each respectively run by two music industry veterans who are experts in the intricacies of licensing in the US: Jeff Price (Word Collections), the founder of Audiam and TuneCore; and Jim King (Spoken Giants), a former senior figure at US collection society BMI.Spotify has suddenly removed comedy albums by stand-ups ranging from Kevin Hart to Tiffany Haddish, Jim Segura and Robin Williams – as Jim King accuses the streaming company of knowing "they don't have all the rights in place to serve this content".That's a reference to the rights to the underlying lyrical content of each piece of performed stand-up. Spotify has the licenses to the recordings, but possibly not this underlying right – the equivalent of the publishing right in music. In music, such rights are now covered by the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) in the United States, ensuring that Spotify has cleared rights to every song on its platform from the get-go.But this wasn't always the case: In 2016, Spotify was sued by songwriters such as Melissa Ferrick and David Lowery for hundreds of millions of dollars in damages, having allegedly not obtained the mechanical licenses required to host their music. (Spotify eventually settled in a class action case against these and other songwriters, via a $43 million fund.)Comedy routines are not currently covered by the MLC.On Talking Trends, Ingham wonders aloud if Price and King may have spotted an "opportunity or injustice" to discuss a similar settlement with Spotify for these analogous rights in comedy. If a party could prove "wilful copyright infringement" by Spotify on this score, Ingham notes, the streaming company could be on the hook for up to $150,000 in damages for every comedy 'track' infringed.Says Ingham: "The fact that Jeff Price has been able to raise $3.5 million in investment for Word Collections in the in the past few weeks doesn't surprise me. Maybe opportunity knocks here, and his investors can see that."Ingham further suggests that this story could have ramifications for Spotify far beyond comedy: "Jim King's company [Spoken Giants] defines itself as representing rightsholders who make 'spoken word content' – not just comedy content. And spoken word content, whether that's podcasts or the more obvious analogous world of audiobooks, is a big part of Daniel Ek's future strategy for Spotify. "

Comedians' works are streamed and broadcast across Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, SiriusXM, and more. However, unlike music where royalties are paid for two copyrights (composition and master recording), Comedians have only ever been paid royalties on the recording of their performance, not on the underlying literary work (equivalent of a composition). Jeff Price, founder of Word Collections and previous founder of Tunecore, Audiam, and more is setting out to fix that by helping comedians license and collect royalties owed to them for their unlicensed literary works.

Read Jeff's take on what a Product Manager does: The best product leaders spend their days obsessing over problem discovery, storytelling, and creating authentic connections to their customers in order to provide unexpectedly delightful experiences. This is what I do and I try to do it by living the 'my opinion, though interesting, is irrelevant' mantra which ensures that no ideas are good ideas unless they are aimed exclusively at solving pervasive and painful market problems. One reason is that there's actually another streaming royalty that is owed to most artists and songwriters... they just don't know about it.  He blames that fact on corrupt legislators and music companies. So how do you find out about this missing royalty, and more importantly, get paid on it?

We begin our conversation with Bob joking that, as a young boy growing up in the San Francisco Bay area, he knew he was a Democrat before he knew he was Jewish. Bob was deeply influenced by Robert “Bobby” Kennedy's position as an agent of change so much so that he began working with the Kennedy campaign early in his life; and considering that Bobby Kennedy was a hero figure for Bob, Kennedy's death greatly impacted him so much so that he continued the work of activism for collective change. When he was a young man, Bob embarked on a path into education, and as a self-professed skeptic, he hesitantly began a meditation practice at 18 years old although that was soon overwhelmed by the profound experience that transcendental meditation brought into his life. With the seeds of desire to educate children, Bob began teaching and educating inner-city youth and inmates about the benefits of meditation. He has continued along this path ever since. Bob and David Lynch began the nonprofit The David Lynch Foundation and have since offered scholarships to seek to teach over one million children the transformative value of meditation. The results of these interventions are astounding. To cite one example, within a year or two, following learning meditation some of the most underperforming schools in the bay area elevated the ranks to become among some of the higher performing schools in the area. Bob discusses three forms of meditation and provides a little background on each, and expands on the practice of Transcendental Meditation. Bob draws from ancient practice to modern neuroscience to back up his claims of how revolutionary a meditation practice can be for your life – and, as he frames it, it is more accessible than you may think. Bio: Bob Roth is one of the most experienced and sought-after meditation leaders in America. Over the past 45 years, Bob has taught Transcendental Meditation to many thousands of people and is the author of the forthcoming authoritative book on the subject, entitled "Strength in Stillness: The Power of Transcendental Meditation", which will be published internationally by Simon & Schuster in February 2018. Bob Currently serves as the CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity which has brought meditation to over 500,000 inner-city youth in underserved schools in 35 countries, to veterans and their families who suffer from post-traumatic stress, and women and children who are survivors of domestic violence. Bob also directs the Center for Leadership Performance, another nonprofit, which is bringing meditation to Fortune 100 companies, government organizations, and nonprofit charities. Bob is the host of the SiriusXM radio show, "Success Without Stress" and has spoken about meditation to industry leaders at such gatherings as Google Zeitgeist, Aspen Ideas Festival, Aspen Brain Conference, Wisdom2.0, and Summit. https://www.davidlynchfoundation.org Learn more about this project at: http://www.thesacredspeaks.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thesacredspeaks/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/thesacredspeaks Theme music provided by: http://www.modernnationsmusic.com Song of the week: Jeff Price https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/mississippi-lights/1393868655
