5/19/25 - Turning Points examines how thirteen extraordinary men and women from apostolic times to the present—most of them canonized saints—came to see how God wanted them to organize their lives and, seeing that, set out to shape their lives accordingly. The book probes the stories of highly motivated individuals who in a variety of ways committed their lives to wholeheartedly following Christ, and it discusses a number of issues as timely for the Church now as they were then. It is engagingly written for all who are interested in serious religious ideas, as well as in the inspiring stories of thirteen outstanding people whose lives shed fresh light on living the faith in their times—and our own. Among those whose stories are told are Saint Paul the Apostle, Saint Augustine of Hippo, Saint Ignatius Loyola, Saint Thomas More, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Saint John Henry Newman, Saint Josemaría Escrivá, Caryll Houselander, and Dorothy Day. In this episode, Niall asks a hard question that many are afraid to voice: Are men and women truly treated equally in modern society? The discussion is sparked by an email from a male listener who says he was passed over for a management promotion in favour of a woman, despite having more experience and being told he was next in line. According to a friend in HR, the decision came down to gender — his company already had two male managers, and they "needed a woman" to balance the optics. The email raises deep questions about gender quotas, meritocracy, and whether attempts to correct historical imbalances are now causing new forms of discrimination. Some callers believe we are finally seeing long-overdue progress. They argue that women have spent decades fighting for space in male-dominated fields and that occasionally favouring a female candidate is part of addressing past injustice. For them, it's not about ignoring merit, but correcting systemic imbalance.Other callers strongly disagree, saying equality should never come at the expense of fairness. They feel gender quotas are increasingly being used to justify hiring decisions that overlook the most qualified person — and that this silent shift is leaving many men feeling sidelined and voiceless.
The jury in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal sex trafficking trial consists of 12 individuals—eight men and four women—ranging in age from 30 to 74, with an average age of 52. They hail from various neighborhoods in New York, including Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester, and possess diverse professional backgrounds, from deli clerks to scientists. Notably, all jurors hold college degrees, with some having advanced degrees such as master's and PhDs. During the selection process, jurors were questioned about their familiarity with Combs, their ability to remain impartial, and their capacity to handle the graphic nature of the evidence and testimonies expected during the trial. The composition and impartiality of this jury are crucial to the trial's outcome. Given Combs' high-profile status and the serious nature of the charges—including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for purposes of prostitution—the jurors' ability to remain unbiased is paramount. The defense has acknowledged Combs' past abusive behavior but argues that the alleged acts were consensual and part of a particular lifestyle, aiming to distinguish them from criminal conduct. Conversely, the prosecution presents a narrative of coercion and exploitation, with testimonies from individuals like Cassie Ventura detailing alleged abuse and manipulation. The jurors' interpretations of these accounts, influenced by their backgrounds and perceptions, will ultimately determine the verdict in this significant case.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Diddy federal trial jury seated with 8 men, 4 women jurors | Fox News
Despite being the most studied supplement of all time, creatine is making a big resurgence. It's been the hot topic in the health podcast space for the past year, as new scientific evidence is showing creatine is about more than looking big, but has big and important effects on brain health and overall longevity. The biggest problem that exists today is the 'us versus them' narrative about men and women that gets perpetuated in the mainstream. How did it get this way? What's happening? In this episode I attempt to unpack some of the things that I think are factors in this including how modern comforts erased our physical differences, the historical abuse and control of women, the collective dismissal and lack of empathy towards men, and much more. Listen in to learn about the dark triad, luxury beliefs, our pain points as men and women, and what we need to do about this.Timestamps: 00:00 - 00:29 Episode Trailer And Intro00:29 - 00:48 Episode overview 00:48 - 02:00 The issue with living in a men's vs women's world02:00 - 04:52 Our inability to validate other people's pain04:52 - 06:38 The pain points of men and women06:38 - 08:08 Who had it worse - men or women?08:08 - 09:42 Where does the adversarial relationship between men and women come from?09:42 - 11:03 Feminism begins with the ultra elite11:03 - 12:01 Why rich people saying 'Defund the police' is such a joke12:01 - 13:23 Is women's anger towards men misplaced?13:23 - 15:39 Men are energetic geniuses15:39 - 16:31 Here's why men won't chase you if you say you're uninterested16:31 - 18:27 Who really hurts and demeans women?18:27 - 21:23 What fraction of men are actually psychopaths?21:23 - 21:57 All women want is connection21:57 - 22:38 Final thoughts and key takeaways22:38 - 23:16 Outro_______________________If you found some value today then help me spread the word! Marriage has been declining for years, and young men and women don't seem capable of forming healthy relationships that can lead to marriage. So many young people are socially awkward or focus on education instead of relationships. J.P. De Gance joins us to discuss this reality and what the Church can do to help. How does Paul equate men and women in these verses?
We, as men and women, are uniquely instructed to honor Christ in local church worship.

Is it true that women speak far more than men—or is that just a stereotype? In this playful but thoughtful episode, Justin and Kylie Coulson unpack the latest research on gender and communication, challenge outdated myths, and explore what it means for raising connected, considerate kids. Plus, practical strategies for parents dealing with the infamous teenage grunt! KEY POINTS: Early studies suggested significant differences in the number of words men and women use daily—but newer research shows the gap is much smaller. Adult women speak slightly more than men (around 1,400 extra words per day), but the difference is not dramatic. Among adolescents and young adults, differences in word count are minimal. In older adults (65+), men actually speak more than women. Communication is essential to human connection and should be modelled intentionally in families. Parents should teach teens to communicate considerately, even when they prefer silence. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE:“To be human is to communicate.” RESOURCES MENTIONED: Research study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus by John Gray (mentioned critically) Happy Families website – happyfamilies.com.au ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS: Model open and frequent communication—let your kids see healthy conversation at home. Teach empathy and consideration—encourage kids to respond kindly, even when they don't feel like talking. Invite teens into connection without pressure—engage them in activities like walks, drives, or casual outings. Normalise different communication styles—some kids need space; respect that while keeping the door open. Dump the old stereotypes—focus on building genuine, respectful communication, not fitting into outdated gender norms. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dr. Prather previews his upcoming free Holistic Integration educational seminar this Wednesday, April 30th at 6 p.m. In this episode, we talk about:—The first two things in our body that Dr. Prather always says you need to get fixed if you want to get healthy. —How your hormones determine your weight, your mood, your overall health and well-being, and how well you age. And how hormone imbalance can even impact your sleep and can cause insomnia. —The reason women have far more complex hormones to balance for mood compared to men, who are "simple creatures".—Why Dr. Prather says that doctors "aren't smart enough" to regulate all of the hormones of the body. And the Structure-Function approach he uses to help the BODY to be the hero and balance the hormones itself.—The Testosterone levels men should have in order to function. And why men with low Testosterone usually have to be brought into a doctor's office by someone else for help because they have "crashed" and don't have the motivation to come in themselves. —Why Dr. Prather says that "beauty is the result of a good Hormonal system". And how women are attracted to different types of men based upon where they are at in their monthly cycle. —The Herbals, Glandulars, Vitamins, Minerals, and Homeopathics that can help to naturally balance Hormones. And why Dr. Prather says that only 2% of the time should patients actually be given prescription Hormones. —How the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Adjustment at Holistic Integration is "the number one thing" when it comes to balancing out the Endocrine System. —Why Acupuncture is helpful for stimulating healing of your Hormone system, including the relief of excruciating pain from cystic ovaries within minutes.—How you can ask Dr. Prather questions and receive 20% off of our thorough Hormone test by attending Dr. Prather's free seminar this Wednesday night, either in person or on ZOOM.http://www.TheVoiceOfHealthRadio.com

Mind Love • Modern Mindfulness to Think, Feel, and Live Well
In this episode, you'll learn: Why women connect past and present experiences while men focus only on what's happening now The brain science behind women's ability to read nonverbal cues (and why this superpower can sometimes bite us in the ass) Real strategies to work WITH your brain differences instead of fighting against them Ever feel like you and your partner are speaking totally different languages? Like you're saying words in plain English but somehow they're not computing on the other side? True story from my life: My husband comes back from trips, drops his suitcase on our bedroom floor, and... that's it. The damn thing sits there for weeks, clothes spilling out like some kind of fabric explosion. Last month after his third trip, I lost it: "This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME you travel! The suitcase becomes furniture!" His response? Complete confusion. "Why bring up other trips? I just got home yesterday." This isn't a character flaw. It's brain wiring. And I'm not the only one dealing with this disconnect. When I talk about this with my female friends, they instantly get it. They also connect past events with current ones - not because they're holding grudges, but because their brains naturally link related experiences together. Here's what we're told: "Good communicators stay present and don't bring up past issues." But what if your brain is literally built to connect patterns across time? What if that's not immaturity but your actual neural wiring? Today our guest is Steven Furlich. He's a professor who's studied gender communication through both social science and biology lenses. After seeing the same patterns across different cultures and time periods, he started looking at brain structure and hormones to understand why these differences stick around no matter how much society changes. The second half of 1 Timothy 2 is a passage that is, in our time, considered controversial. Some unbelievers mock it, and believe it exposes the Bible as irrelevant and archaic. Worse yet, some professing believers twist its meaning, and will tell you that it doesn't mean what it says, or that it means the opposite of what it says. Before we dive in, I ask you to come to this passage in the same manner you should come to every passage of the Bible. Pay careful attention to the most important things.+ Who wrote this?+ Who was it written to?+ What is the context within this book?+ What do the words say?+ How would the author have understood it?+ How would the original readers have understood it?I chose to outline this passage rigorously according to its grammatical structure. In light of aberrant teachings Timothy was facing in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul reiterated God's will for the roles of men and women in the spiritual life of His people.1 - Therefore I Want Men . . . (8)2 - Likewise I Want Women . . . (9-10)

The Catechism teaches about God's plan and design for men and women—male and female—and their equality, complementarity, dignity, and destiny. Fr. Mike shows us how men and women can be both complete in themselves and yet made “for each other.” Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 369-373. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB.
