Larry scraped and saved up $1000 to purchase his first Canon Rebel XT DSLR camera back in 2004. He had been taking pictures with a simple point-and-shoot but wanted to step up his professionalism. He had his own business fixing & building computers but also took pictures as a paparazzi. These jobs were a means to an end that allowed him to take automotive pictures. Over the last 13 years, he has traveled all over the world and been to hundreds of events to pursue his passion. As a testament to his dedication, Larry funded many of his photography trips by justifying them as investments. He would take a chance to travel to an event with the intent of selling his pictures, but it was never a guarantee. This drive and passion resonated with the owners and drivers of the cars and Larry became a world-renowned automotive photographer and editor. Michelin has sent Larry to Austria to do a shoot with a Ford GT, Ken Block and the Hoonigan crew hired Larry to take pictures during Climbkhana, he took aerial pictures during the Baja 1000 for Monster Energy, and he is the official photographer for the GridLife series. Needless to say, Larry isn’t joking when he claims to take an average of 750 pictures each day!
Will Roegge is an incredibly talented filmmaker/awesome human and you may know him has half of the team behind the documentary Keep Drifting Fun as well as being instrumental in capturing some of the craziest shots from Hoonigan's Gymkhana series and the newly released Climbkhana. Triple Eight is testing their new V6-powered car...but using a V8 engine, while the new V6 engine is in an old V8 chassis...? OK.- Dyson (the vacuum company) is going to build an electric car. It's going to suck, right?- Victoria Police are going to buy 80 BMW 5 Series' to form their next highway patrol squadron. Does that make them the "Ultimate Booking Machine"?James, Richard and Tom (Barry) strip back, pressure test and rebuild the issues of the automotive week.Get in touch with us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, or you can ask Barry just how much he looks like his namesake by sending an email to comments@carsguide.com.au
Brian Scotto is the co-founder and Chief Brand Officer for Hoonigan Industries, best known for the crazy car exploits of their other founder, Ken Block. Brian is an incredible guy with a huge wealth of talent and knowledge when it comes to cars and car culture and he has helped turn Hoonigan into one of the world's biggest automotive lifestyle brands. Kyle and James were lucky enough to get Brian in the CarStories hot seat just days before the official launch of Climbkhana, the latest Hoonigan masterpiece which sees Ken Block rocketing up Pike's Peak in a 1200+ horsepower twin-turbocharged Hoonicorn Mustang. Brian is also great because he's one of those guys who if you can get them talking, they'll just keep talking indefinitely and typically end up saying some really interesting stuff. This episode is a long one, but it's one of our favorites. Give it a listen and then make sure to go check out Climbkhana on YouTube!
