Rob Manfred joins Craig and Big Mac to talk about the state of baseball, baseball realignment, salary caps and a whole lot more. Plus, why are Giants fans running scared?
If we ever had a genuine democracy (and I would argue we never have) then it is clearly disintegrating now, along with the entire system with which it was entwined. Everyone agrees we need something new, what we don't necessarily agree on across the board is the design of this new thing. This week's guests are two people who spend their lives imagining how things might be different, particularly in the US, where even the pretence of democracy has been abandoned. Dr John Izzo is a friend of the podcast. Once an ordained Minister in a Presbyterian Church, he's now a bestselling author, speaker, and thought leader focused on social responsibility and intergenerational integration. He's a a Distinguished Fellow at The Stimson Center in Washington DC, and a Board Member of the Elders Action Network and the Elders Climate Action group. Most notably in terms of what we're talking about here, he's co-host of The Way Forward Regenerative Conversations Podcast on which I heard him speaking to our other guest, Suzette Brooks Masters. Suzette describes herself as a sometime Cassandra who sees around the corner; a serial social entrepreneur, and a thought leader and strategist in the fields of democracy, governance and futures. She has degrees in Economics from Amherst College and Cambridge University, and a Law degree from Harvard. She has spent much of her working life as a strategist working on immigration, inclusion and democracy. She is currently Senior Fellow and Director of Democracy Innovation at the Democracy Funders Network and Co-Founder of the Federal Foresight Advocacy Alliance. So listen in for a 3-way conversation on the nature of power, community and change as we move into the new year. In this episode of the 4 Corners Podcast, a fully loaded panel discusses the changing landscape of college football. The transfer portal, NIL, a whole lot of money, and a quasi-form of free agency have reshaped the sport's landscape. Is this a positive or a negative? Speaking of college football, though, the quarterfinals of the CFP came and went. Three of the games were kind of snooze fests, dominated by stifling defenses, as Indiana, Oregon, and Miami advanced to the Final Four. But that fourth game between Ole Miss and Georgia was an instant classic. The guys break it all down for you this week. This week's hosts... In this episode of the 4 Corners Podcast, the guys discuss the state of the NFL heading into the final weeks of the season and finally talk some hockey. The Bears have won the NFC North, but is Patrick a believer yet? Is there anyone to believe in as far as the NHL is concerned? Meanwhile, the CFP Quarterfinals are upon us. Who do the guys feel has the advantage heading into the Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Cotton Bowls? Let's call this a Christmas Bonus. We hope you had a fantastic holiday and look forward to a great two weeks with some down time. I can't do a podcast on Friday due to travel but we have a couple nice segment from the radio show on Wednesday we think you may enjoy. First, will the over reaction to the Chiefs move to Kansas simmer down? Then, why don't the Chiefs have a site identified. The most obvious reason could be shocking to you. Also, if the Royals have a "complex" situation according to Senate president Ty Masterson but have met the December 31 STAR bond deadline, what is going on? There's only two things it could be. And finally, 60 Minutes pulled a hit piece on Trump last week and now the president is getting the last laugh. You have to hear this.
It's been happening more and more that people are discovering The Drywall Podcast organically. This was the case for JP. His marketing person, Zach Ellison found TDP and thought JP would be a good fit. Although JP has little experience in the world of drywall, he saw a flaw in the way outside corners were being done and felt he had a solution. He's been working on the idea for the last 6 years and is ready to bring his innovation to the world. Introducing The Smart Corner by CleanCo. There's a lot about JP that piques my interest and we waste no time digging into the why behind the Smart Corner. JP hales from Quebec but now calls Austin home. He's a great guy and we have a fantastic conversation on this, the 157th, episode of The Drywall Podcast. This episode of TDP is brought to you by TapeTech. Find out more by visiting www.tapetech.com

It's Wednesday, December 17th, and Norm Hitzges is already treating the Cowboys like it's January—because let's be honest, they've been playing for “next year” for a while now.Norm lays out the real offseason problem: this team can score like a contender (historically so), yet they're wandering toward mediocrity because the defense couldn't stop a parade—much less an NFL offense. And now comes the big-money question: do you spend $30M a year to keep George Pickens… or do you use that money (and maybe even the Trayvon Diggs cap savings) to build a defense that doesn't actively ruin your weekend? Then we pivot to college football, where head coaches are getting fired like it's a Black Friday sale—because one man (Kurt Cignetti) showed the entire sport what a fast turnaround looks like. And now every “big program” is staring at Indiana like: Wait… y'all did WHAT?Sarcasm? Yes. Numbers? Also yes. Existential dread? Of course. We often trick ourselves into thinking that compromising on God's Word and His way is just a shortcut to getting what we want faster. It feels harmless to cut a corner here or there to get ahead. But here's the truth: compromise isn't a shortcut; it's like taking a chainsaw to the tree of your life. Compromise doesn't help you grow; it cuts down the very life you want. Every time you choose the easy way over the right way, you aren't speeding things up—you're doing damage to the things you love. The good news is God can heal broken things. When you stop cutting corners and depend on God, you can actually grow strong again.
In this SPECIAL MEMBER'S ONLY EPISODE PREVIEW, a witness from the Four Corners region shares chilling first-hand encounters with Sasquatch that span from his teenage years into adulthood. Growing up near Shiprock, New Mexico, along the San Juan River, he describes a terrifying moment when a massive, unseen creature let out a roar that sounded like a man and an animal combined, sending crows scattering from the cliffside below him.The encounters don't stop there. The witness recounts additional experiences connected to the Chuska Mountains, Navajo Nation lands, and remote areas of New Mexico and Colorado, including stories passed down through family members and locals who believe Sasquatch has roamed these regions for generations. From isolated river cliffs to mountain sheep-herding camps, the activity described suggests a long-standing presence in some of the most secluded landscapes in the Southwest.Later in the episode, a second witness from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, reports hearing unknown howls in the early 2000s and witnessing a tall, upright, human-like creature walking through snow near Square Top Mountainin 2017. The sighting was corroborated by another adult and an 8-year-old child living on the same ranch property. If you're interested in Bigfoot encounters, Sasquatch sightings, Navajo Nation stories, or unexplained activity in the Four Corners and San Juan River region, this episode delivers a raw and unsettling account you won't forget. To listen to the whole episode become a supporting member of Bigfoot Society over at https://www.bigfootsocietypodcast.com or join our Youtube membership here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Qq45W6iaTU8FE9kelxT7Q/join

The days of teams getting changed in "buses and corners" at a West Clare sports ground are expected to come to a close soon with a new development coming on stream. Kilmihil People's Park has secured planning application for the provision of dressing rooms and public toilets at the amenity which opened its gates in 2021. The project is supported by an almost €70,000 Sports Capital Grant awarded last October. Quilty Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Shannon, who was a representative on the planning application, has been telling Clare FM's Seán Lyons the park demonstrates the merit of funding community endeavours. In this episode of the Four Corners podcast, hosts Patrick O'Dowd and David Ungar discuss a depressing trend in NCAA Men's Basketball: the decline of traditional early-season tournaments such as the Maui Invitational. The guys explore this and the possible reasons behind it. On the NCAA Football side of the docket, despite much of the SEC beating up on easy opposition, the preeminent power conference in college football is still poised to send five or six teams to the CFP. How will this impact the tournament, and is some of this spurring on the calls for format changes? Dave openly questioned whether the Kansas City Chiefs' dynasty was over (they emphatically responded that it was not), while Patrick continues to doubt his Chicago Bears. She seemed perfect at first — loving, accepting, kind — but red flags started appearing. How did this experiment in radical vulnerability turn out?Your new boss is an award-winning academic genius who's destroying your workplace with delusional AI schemes, forcing everyone back to the office, and trying to rebrand 9/11. For some reason, he "likes" you enough to put you on all his committees. How do you work with a narcissistic visionary who won't listen to reason? You're great at connecting with people but keep hiding your true feelings until relationships fall apart. You just broke up with someone after two years because of dealbreakers you discussed but never enforced. Check out the collection of fidgets Team Shiny loves! There's a particular kind of tired that seeps past your muscles—it settles in your body memory. The kind that comes from years spent reshaping yourself around other people's comfort. If you've ever been told your joy was too big, your voice too loud, your questions too many—this conversation might feel like exhaling. In this episode of Something Shiny: ADHD, therapist Grace Gautier joins Isabelle Richards and David Kessler for a deeply human conversation about what it means to hide your corners to stay connected. Grace, a trans woman who works closely with trans and neurodivergent communities, puts language to something so many of us have felt but couldn't name: carceral logic—that cultural instinct to isolate or correct those who struggle, instead of shifting the environment to support them.We talk about what happens when systems teach us to monitor ourselves before anyone else can. How masking gets confused for maturity. How survival strategies get mislabeled as flaws. And why returning to connection—not perfection—is the real work of healing. We explore:The overlap between neurodivergent and trans lived experiencesWhy we learn to tuck away the most beautiful, vital parts of ourselvesThe difference between being managed and being metHow community becomes the repairDavid brings in the metaphor of the uncarved block—this tender image of a version of you untouched by the sanding-down of social expectation. Grace recognizes herself immediately. She traces how her sensory overwhelm, emotional intensity, and clutter-as-memory weren't signs of dysfunction—they were adaptations. Signals. Ways of being.Grace also shares the ache of her father's deportation and the clarity that arrived when she was finally diagnosed with ADHD later in life. Suddenly, things made sense. She didn't need to try harder—she needed support that didn't punish her nervous system.By the end of this conversation, you'll realize the parts you were taught to hide were actually never flaws to fix, but rather truths you were carrying alone. What shifts when you stop mistaking survival for failure? What changes when you see your ADHD traits not as obstacles, but as signals? Maybe, for the first time, things make sense. And maybe that sense brings a kind of peace you didn't know you were allowed to feel.

In this episode, we speak with Brenda Bergen, the art director behind Talk on Corners, about her creative journey and the story of shaping one of The Corrs' most iconic visual eras.Brenda shares the path that led from graduate school in the Midwest to New York's entertainment industry, working with Vibe magazine, VH1, and MTV, before joining Atlantic Records as an art director. She explains the role of art direction in music, which includes building the band's “brand”, to capturing the essence of an album through imagery, design, and visual storytelling. We hear the story behind the artwork for Talk on Corners: scouting Dublin locations, assembling a creative team, and collaborating with photographers Damien and Layla of Blinkk, whose layered, dreamlike imagery helped define the album's look. Brenda discusses working with the band and management to shape the final cover, how different versions evolved and the balancing act between creative vision and commercial direction. It's a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how Talk on Corners's visual identity was created. To view the early concepts for the cover artwork click HEREBrenda was kind enough to look through her journals from 1997 and found the dates for the photo shoot for the album cover shot in Ireland between May 29th - June 3rd, 1997.To see polaroids of Andrea taken during the photoshoot please follow the link HEREThe later PR Photoshoot in L.A. was shot on July 24th 1997 and yet more shots were taken on Sept 14th 1997.For a more visual understanding of how Brenda adapted the fonts 'Osprey' and 'Entropy' to create the Talk on Corners era logo, click HEREAt 00:24:50 you can hear a clip of the demo of the song 'When He's Not Around'.At 00:41:37 you can hear a clip of the early mix for the song 'Intimacy'.Brenda mentioned a photo of her with the band which can be seen HEREBrenda now runs Wink Design.
