Matt Payne is back on the pod fresh from his Sunday Supercars victory in Tasmania. The Penrite racer talks about that epic finish (he won by 0.05) and whether he could have kept Broc Feeney behind him for much longer? Plus how much it means to some of the former 888 team members in the Grove squad! We also look ahead to the next couple of rounds in Perth and Darwin - what he thinks of their chances there? Then TA2 Category Manager ‘Matty Mack’ (MacKelden) joins us with the ink still drying on this week’s deal to acquire Trans Am. Why it’s important to still have some separation between the two despite the awesome combined field recently at Bathurst. How they stepped in to help fill a void on the support bill at Waneroo and the nice balance they seem to have struck between rowing their own boat and working alongside Supercars at some marquee events. It’s a Matt-a-thon on this edition of the Garage shortcast. This week on The Auto Action RevLimiter, we're turning up the heat from the frozen south, which actually wasn't that frozen! Andrew Clarke was trackside in Tasmania, and he's got all the stories — from Matt Payne winning with his head rather than his right foot, to Broc Feeney proving he's got both speed and silverware, even if the clean sweep slipped through his fingers. We unpack the brains-beat-brawn strategy play that handed Payne the win, why Feeney still walks away on top of the championship, and how DJR's night in the steward's office turned into a proper disqualification debacle. We also dive into Brad Jones' big Toyota switch — yes, it's real — and which Supercars stars are packing their passports for NASCAR's Chicago Street Race. Then, buckle up as we explore the $350 million facelift coming to Albert Park's pit lane, and why it's not just about F1 but the future of motorsport in Victoria. It's all here. All killer, no filler. Hit subscribe and get the lowdown on everything that matters in Aussie motorsport — and maybe a few things that probably shouldn't but still make us laugh. And if you are on the ACDelco website, use the code AAREVL25 for a 25% discount on all your parts. Phil and Josh return for E267 of the GSP to provide their usual unfiltered commentary on the motorsports events of the past week. At Barber, Hello Palou returned to his dominant position with a win from pole. The guys discussed the fully green flag event, standout performers behind the champ, and the points heading to the Indy Road Course. Anytime motorsports take place at Texas Motor Speedway, expect Phil and Josh to let you know their thoughts. In this case, why any racing takes place at that dump. Like certain people's facilities, this track is godawful and shouldn't have any part in determining champions in any series outside the Bass masters. Three pseudo demolition derbies took place across the major NASCAR series, with Joey Logano, Kyle Larson (subbing for Connor Zilisch) and Corey Heim win in Cup, XFinity and Trucks. Formula 1 raced at the Dolphins' stadium parking lot Grand Prix after announcing a 16-year extension for nobodies benefit. The most compelling race of the weekend was the drivers doing a parade lap in full size Lego cars. In the sprint race, Lewis Hamilton was a Fred Alonso crash away from possibly taking his second sprint victory due to the variable conditions. In the actual race, Oscar Piastri proved once again why he is the measure to fight versus Fish Lips and look to earn McLaren their first driver's title since Hamilton in 2008. Phil discusses the ApexOne GT3 sim league on Assetto Corsa Competitizione and his breakdowns of the splits plus his chances (or lack thereof). The guys discuss Homestead being announced as the finale for the 2026 NASCAR season, which is a welcome relief for numerous NASCAR fans. They will rotate the race among multiple warmer weather sites, so Las Vegas could finally be an option. The GSP Roundup covers F1 Academy, Indy NXT, Formula E, WSBK, IMSA, WEC, MotoGP/Moto2, and Supercars before the race previews and picks for IndyCar at the Indy Road Course plus NASCAR Cup and Trucks at Kansas. Josh previews his opportunity to become a two-time iRacing Indy 500 champ in the Sim Segment along with everything else going on this month as a lead up to the Greatest Day in Motorsports.

And warming up for the weekend with a ripper GT3 drive in Sydney. Then for the 2nd half of the ‘shorty’ we welcome Matt Hickey to the show. The Daily Telegraph F1 correspondent talks about Jack Doohan’s sideways shift, Oscar Piastri’s inner strength and a challenge for the FIA leadership. Three wins on the trot, a racing masterclass against Verstappen, and a warning shot to the rest of the grid – Oscar Piastri is the real deal. This week's RevLimiter is basically an Oscar special, as we break down how the Aussie ace is owning 2025 so far.We dive into how he handled Max at his own game, the rising rivalry with Norris, and what it all means for McLaren's internal dynamic.Plus:Has Jack Doohan quietly run his last race for Alpine? Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!Piastri and Palou just keep winning in F1 and IndyCar. Dominant performances from the two of them in their respective races. Verstappen was able to put on a defensive show until the clock struck midnight as he was out of tires and then to make matters worse a Virtual Safety Car is deployed which put him back to 4th. Although Palou ran away at Barber, the rest of the field had an exciting race that was interesting to watch from a strategic point of view. When to pit, how quick could guys get their tires warmed up, who could defend with cold tires the best? It had some great lunges and passes that played into high risk, high reward scenarios.Logano takes the win in NASCAR at Texas. Coming up this weekend: NASCAR is at Kansas, IndyCar is racing at Barber, WEC at Spa, IMSA at Laguna Seca, MotoGP at Le Mans, and Supercars at Tasmania.

After Rory McIlroy dramatically became the sixth golfer in the modern history of the game to win the career Grand Slam at The Masters, Phil and Josh return to discuss this momentous occassion and everything that went on in the world of motorsports. Kyle Kirkwood added his name to the illustrious history at Long Beach, becoming a two-time winner of the event after winning pole for both races. Alex Palou's early season winning streak was ended, but he still had a strong finish. Multiple pit strategies and a completely green flag race made it interesting, while Penske's performance definitely was not Penske Perfect. Kyle Larson dominated 2/3 of the weekend at Bristol, winning the Cup and XFinity races. Yung Money ended up 2nd behind Chandler Smith in the Truck Series event. Rajah Carruth and Martinsville winner Daniel Hemric both had solid days along with the Niece duo. Oscar Piastri inserted himself into the title discussion with a dominant weekend at Bahrain, culminating in a win from pole. The McLaren driver held off Woody Russell and teammate Lando Norris to take the top step. Fish Lips was nowhere the entire weekend while Ferrari had mixed fortunes. Phil is competing as an Am in the ApexOne GT3 Endurance race at Catalunya, so he gives his thoughts on ACC and his feelings going into the event. Can Phil come through with a victory? Someone who many thought would have a victory at Augusta long before Sunday was Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman made it unnecessarily interesting throughout the final round, but held on in the first hole of the playoff to make history. Phil was focused on the Masters because it has always been his favorite golf tournament of the year, while Rory's win also was a happy result. The GSP Roundup covered F2/F3/F1 Academy, IMSA, MotoGP/Moto2, Supercars, Formula E, WSBK, WEC and Anthony Wayne Stewart's first career Top Fuel win at Las Vegas in the Four Wide Nationals, with Austin Prock (Funny Car) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) taking the Wally's in their respective classes. Phil and Josh preview the Rockingham return for XFinity and Trucks and make picks along with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Formula One race before Josh's Sim Segment and Show Close.

Max Vertsappen was unheaded on his way to the Japanese Grand Prix after a stunning qualifying lap set him on the path to victory. McLaren mucked it up, though. Tom talks about the luxury car market, from which models make the best investments to the shocking maintenance costs of hypercars. He shares stories about celebrity clients, cars that appreciate versus depreciate and gives tips for aspiring collectors. Tom Jaconelli REVEALS: That he still gets excited about special cars, the Bugatti Veyron was his first supercar experience as a child and remains one of the most exciting cars he's ever seen. How he helped grow the family business to £100 million in annual turnover, with their showroom currently holding over 100 cars worth around £30 million. His fact driven and transparent sales approach, which sometimes talks customers out of deals but builds greater long term trust. His profits and losses in the business, revealing they've made up to £400,000 on a single car but have also lost around £100,000 on others when market conditions shifted. What celebrities he has worked with including Rod Stewart, Simon Cowell and members of One Direction That many high profile clients now prefer understated vehicles rather than flashy supercars. Why he focuses on improving the business rather than expanding it further, prioritising quality over quantity. The cars that will appreciate well since they represent "the last of something" in an increasingly digital and electrified car market. BEST MOMENTS "These cars are starting to become their own asset class, people of wealth are thinking, right, I want a property portfolio, I want a stock portfolio. I want maybe a bit of crypto and they're now thinking, I also want a car portfolio." "For me, if I had 50 grand, I'd be probably looking more at some of like the German muscle cars, like the C 63 AMGs, maybe even an RS six V 10. You know, they don't make them anymore." "People say you shouldn't mix family and business, don't they? I think you know, being a family member of this business, you are more driven by it." My dad, Paul Elli. He is the ultimate. He's the goat, he can sell ice to the Eskimos. He has a natural gift of the gab and he won't even know what he's selling a lot of the time." Oscar Piastri has his first win on the board after dominating the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend with a pole-to-flag victory. Lando Norris was second and George Russell third. But the Saturday sprint race was all about Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton, who scored his first win for the Scuderia. But then it all turned to disaster in the main race when he was disqualified for wearing out his plank too much. Take the survey now: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1iHRZvOly_Q7aprlQBF7n38y0EjgvnHw2OdYII8yQElc/edit?ts=670d0111 Rob is joined by Tom Hartley Jr., one of the world's premier luxury car dealers. From selling his first Porsche at age 12 to now managing a billion pound inventory of luxury cars, Tom shares his knowledge on the exclusive world of rare Ferraris, McLaren F1s, and Formula One classics. Tom reveals which supercars are overhyped, which are under appreciated gems and shares insider investment tips. REVEALS: The greatest supercar of all time The holy grail of classic Ferraris Why Formula One cars are significantly undervalued investments Why not all classics are worth the hype That he strongly dislikes electric vehicles, believing they'll only last about 10 years before needing expensive battery replacements, unlike classics that can last centuries. How Ferrari has evolved beyond being just a car company to become a true luxury brand What cars he recommends for investors BEST MOMENTS "I'm not really one who has many regrets because I've always been fortunate enough in life”. "Carrera GT is the best sounding car of all time. You talked about a V10 Formula, Formula 1 derived engine, and it sounds phenomenal when you start it up, but it sounds way better when you drive it." "I think Ferrari are so on a different level that they are a luxury brand. They should be more associated with something that's within LVMH. Their rival is more Hermes than maybe Lamborghini." "If somebody gave me a trillion... I would [wake up] tomorrow morning and do exactly the same as what I'm doing today because I'm buying and selling the world's greatest cars. My business is my hobby and my hobby is my business."
