2 Timothy 3:4-5, "Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them!" Titus 1:16, "They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him--being detestable, disobedient, and unfit for doing anything good." These verses pierce like a double-edged sword, exposing the solemn danger of mere external religion. They speak of those who have all the appearance of godliness--the vocabulary, the rituals, the reputation--but are inwardly estranged from the transforming power of God. They are not described as atheists or pagans, but as professors of the truth. They are not outside the church, but within its walls. Their conduct, however, betrays them. While their lips speak of God--their lives declare allegiance to self, sin, and the world. This strikes at the heart of false religion: people content with the form of godliness, while their hearts chase worldly pleasure! Paul warns that such people are "lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." This is the spiritual climate of our age: entertainment reigns, self is worshiped, and personal fulfillment is the supreme good. But the genuine believer has been crucified with Jesus. He no longer lives for fleeting pleasures, but for the glory of God. The Spirit who dwells within him produces genuine holiness, not just the shell of religion. Where the Spirit has not wrought new birth, there may be "a form of godliness," but never its life-giving power. Titus 1:16 goes deeper. Make the effort today to release, relax, indulge, heal, shine, glow, thrive, or rest. Saturday, May 17th: - Mercury Conjunct Neptune. Wild card day! Mercury and Neptune share the same spot in the sky today , but this energy can and will be felt up to 5 days prior and post. They squish past each other in a tight corridor and it could be a blessing or a lesson. Themes will center around thinking and or talking about spiritual themes. Mercury the great communicator wants to chat it up about the higher octaves of the watery expanse of Neptune. Dreams vs. delusions and what really matters; spirit, soul, healing. Tarot and astrology tools will serve you well this week or may simply take up more attention, space, or curiosity. Sunday, May 18th: - Jupiter Square the North Node (in Pisces). This is an interesting one. We don't usually talk about squares (they create tension) but it's Jupiter who expands things and often brings a gift with it. Jupiter will literally square off with the North Node in Pisces. It will offer us tension in terms of how we're moving forward with our healing, spirituality, and psychic gifts. If it feels like a lesson, lean in. If it's crunchy, the square is the tension of the pull back on a bow and arrow - it preps for flight and forward motion but will first take you back in order to prepare for forward momentum. It's Pisces, so mind your feelings, meaning pay attention. They aren't all facts but they are valid data points. Take note of the data that rolls through with this week and next. What are you thinking about your dreams, and spiritual connections? There is growth here and maybe a little karmic work. Past life healing, anyone? - North Node (in Pisces) semi-sextile Chiron. This aspect offers us more guidance to be mindful of your feelings and your vessel. A semi sextile is always some good flow, however it's Pisces which is the ocean of emotion, every kind of sensitivity you can name, and Chiron the wounded healer. Crying is on deck. The sads may be present. AND, it's healing and will move us forward. Hydrate yourself. Stay away from whatever our body registers as a toxin (keep your food clean and alkalize thyself!). And potentially make some space and have some grace on deck for yourself this week and next. It could be soft and tender or raw. It's ok. It'll pass but please prepare and learn something from it if you can. - Your weekly mantra: My emotions are vital and sacred...but they are not always or forever facts.
