Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of fasting with a discussion about turning back to the Lord. We all make mistakes, but we have a merciful Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally and will look past those mistakes because He wants us to return to Him. We are affirmed of His merciful embrace in Joel 2:12-13, where He is described as “gracious, merciful, slow to anger, of great kindness, and relents from doing harm.” Have you returned to the Lord? We were also joined by Dr. Drew Dickens, our special guest, who provided insight into the intersection of technology and spirituality. Dr. Dickens is a visionary leader, an AI expert, and a scholar who focuses on the intersection of technology, spirituality, and faith-based engagement. He also founded the Encountering Peace app and the Encouter Podcast, which provide biblical meditations, resources, and dialogue. Dr. Dickens has also authored the book, “Whispers of the Spirit: A 40-Day Guide to Intimate Prayer,” which was released today. We also had Franklin Graham as a special guest. Franklin is a speaker, author, and evangelist. He is also the President and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization, as well as the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. The keto diet has exploded in popularity over the years. Personally, I started following keto and teaching it back in 2013. Ever since there have been upgrades to this way of living. I have taken over 5,000 students through my Keto Kamp Academy, and I've discovered 5 major changes with keto that you need to know. I just released a brand new video where I reveal the 5 MAJOR changes in keto. The first major change: Protein is the most important macronutrient on keto, not fat. The second major change: Stop consuming almonds, kale and spinach on keto… The third major change is that not all keto friendly foods are healthy friendly. The fourth major change is that men should do keto differently than women. The fifth major change is that you don't need to (nor should you) do keto forever.

In this episode of the Metabolic Freedom Podcast, I delve into the "Make America Healthy Again" (MAHA) movement and critique the dire state of health in the U.S. I present alarming statistics showing that a vast majority of Americans are metabolically unhealthy, with rising rates of obesity, diabetes, and chronic diseases. I argue that the healthcare system perpetuates illness by treating symptoms rather than root causes. I also discuss the impact of environmental toxins on health, emphasizing the need for awareness and proactive measures to reduce exposure. I advocate for a shift in mindset towards true health and wellness.

It's News Day Tuesday! Emma speaks with Daniel Nichanian, editor-in-chief of Bolts Magazine, to discuss the state of play of the 2024 election and what key races to watch out for in November. First, Emma runs through updates on the wake of Hurricane Helene and the progression of Hurricane Milton, US federal and state-level disaster response, DeSantis' fascism, Harris' medicare plan, election polls, Trump's struggling campaign messaging, Israel's ongoing slaughter in Gaza, Elon Musk's SuperPAC bribe, Biden's EPA policy, and Georgia's abortion ban, before further unpacking the extreme conditions of Hurricane Milton and the absurdly weak disaster preparedness of DeSantis' Florida. Daniel Nichanian then joins, diving right into the state election polling one month out of the election, Trump's struggle to persuade voters outside of his strongholds, and Harris' performance in swing states. Stepping back, Nichanian and Emma unpack the incredible precarity of the New York Democratic Party in the wake of their center-right pivot over the last few election cycles, what their poor favorability in the state means for Harris and Congress, before looking to the major Senate races to look for, namely Colin Allred's challenge to Ted Cruz and Tester's fight to retain his seat, also diving into Independent Dan Osborn's race out of Nebraska. After briefly unpacking the major state-level abortion referendums on the ballot in November (and their potential impact up- and down-ballot), Daniel highlights some other big referendums – including redistricting, minimum wage, and transit and affordable housing funding – and wraps up by exploring the major fights going on for state-level control in Arizona and North Carolina. And in the Fun Half: Emma and the MR Team unpack a GOP congressional candidate's attempt to frame his friend's family as his own and the disaster of various state democratic parties, Josef from Israel explores the idea of one democratic state in Palestine, and Trump sites his sights on the gilded age for his economic inspiration. Laura Ingraham helps Trump work through the trauma of returning to Butler, Creflo Dollar parses through the New Jersey ballot, and Tucker and Elon muse about how dangerous and anti-establishment they really are. Jeff from Iowa discusses the mood of the midwest electorate one month out from the election, plus, your calls and IMs! A 30-Day Guide To Changing Your Mindset. In my search for relevant messages on human potential, I have the top publishers send me their lists of new books. In a list from Simon & Schuster I saw, How To Chase Change: 30 Days to Master Your Mindset, and the title alone was worth a look. What I found intrigued me, starting with the author's story. If you see Alexis Fernandez-Prieksa on social media, to me she looks more like an actress or social media starlet than a mindset expert. And that's part of what hooked me. Her personal story of drive I find really interesting. She actually intended to be an actress. But kept coming back to neuroscience and how the brain works, and ultimately got her Masters in neuroanatomy. I think you'll really enjoy the story at the beginning of our talk. But in this new audio book of her's, How To Chase Change, she walks us through 30 concepts, and I found some I'd pondered and never heard anyone give focus to. Such as Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hours concept. Alexis points out that just putting the time into something doesn't guarantee mastery. Absolutely. And the idea of our limitations. We often hear we're unlimited, we can do and be anything! I disagree, and so does Alexis who gives great research on how our limitations are a benefit. We got into talking about the concept of having an alter ego, which I'd read about but hadn't really dug into. This is one of those conversations where I wasn't quite sure what I'd get, and what I got was some great insight into how to change and upgrade our mind and some big paradigm shifts. This episode is with Irisneri Alicea Flores. Irisneri is a professional genealogist from Puerto Rico. She completed genealogical research on my maternal side, and I will be sharing this with you all. The purpose of this is to give you all a glimpse of what to expect when working with a genealogist. Irisneri will demonstrate how she starts the research, finding archives of births, deaths, marriages, and migrations, piecing together the puzzle of a specific family lineage. I was genuinely touched by her extensive research on my maternal side. I am very grateful to her! This episode reviews the 14-day guide, along with tips on adjusting the meals in the guide and where to find additional resources for fasting, exercise, meditation, and sleep to support your journey to better health. This episode also dives into why planning is key to managing type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. Unlike typical diet programs, making and implementing a plan works on re-wiring the brain. Making decisions from the prefrontal cortex, which prioritizes long-term health goals over immediate gratification. The episode highlights the importance of using a plan to avoid allowing your primitive brain to make decisions that will derail your progress. Check it out! Tell me what you think!
