My alarm was set for 4 a.m. on Friday, June 12th. I woke up at 2:30, completely wide awake, and made a decision: pack the car and go. By 3 a.m. I was out of Winnipeg with my Chevy Equinox EV at 90% charge and 5,912 km on the odometer, heading west to Saskatoon for my cousin's wedding. In this episode of True North EV, I walk through the entire trip — stop by stop, dollar by dollar. Eight charging sessions across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Just over $180 total in charging costs, versus what would have been over $200 in fuel for a comparable gas vehicle. And I was charging exclusively at public fast chargers the whole way — the most expensive way to do it.Along the way I talk about: what battery preconditioning is and why skipping it costs you speed, a navigation mix-up in Yorkton that sent me to the wrong charger on the wrong side of the city, a great conversation with a Cadillac Lyriq driver who thought she couldn't use Tesla Superchargers (and why Davidson, SK is the one exception you should know about), an unplanned Tim Hortons stop in Neepawa at 4:24 in the morning, a last-minute camp chair purchase at Canadian Tire while the car charged, a 2 a.m. parking lot nap on the way home, and how accurate the Equinox's range predictions really are over a 1600ish km prairie drive.I also share a few things I learned about the MyChevrolet app — what it does well, where it has quirks, and the one zoom trick on the in-car map I wish I'd known sooner.Whether you're already driving electric or just starting to wonder if an EV could handle your lifestyle — this episode is a real-world look at what long-distance EV travel in Canada actually feels like in 2026.True North EV is hosted by James, out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She moved to the mountains at the end of 2020 from the coastal town of Santa Barbara, where she lived for a decade, having graduated from the University of Santa Barbara, California. While at UCSB, she competed for the women's Cross Country and Track and Field programs and produced times that made her competitive on both the conference and national level. After college, she took a break from running to rediscover herself, leaning into outdoor guiding and things like climbing, spearfishing, motorcycle riding and other outdoor activities that pushed her to her physiological limits. During this phase of life, she found nothing gave her quite the same satisfaction running did. She began dabbling in trail running, which reignited her passion, and soon she was exploring the Los Padres National Forest's front range on her off days. Trail running immediately appealed to all aspects of her personality in a way that no other type of running had before. As she began to race trails, new opportunities arose and doors opened. She began traveling all over the United States and the world, feeling gratitude the whole way. That feeling hasn't stopped since 2016, and since her debut to the sport, she has exploded on the sub-ultra and ultra scene, with an incredible number of podium and top 10 finishes, including being the top American at UTMB's World Championship OCC race in Chamonix in August 2024, a top 5 finish at the 2024 Broken Arrow Skyrace 26k, 1st at Canyons Endurance Race, 1st at Kodiak Ultra Marathon 50k in 2023, 2nd at Mammoth Trailfest 26k in 2023, and many others. FREE RESOURCES:NR Recovery Protocol: https://mailchi.mp/nutritional-revolution.com/recovery-protocolCarb Loading Guide: https://mailchi.mp/nutritional-revolution/free-carb-loading-guideFOLLOW DANI MORENO:IG: www.instagram.com/dan_yell_aSee Dani at TrailCon: https://trailconference.com/2026-schedule/SubHub Podcast: https://www.dani-moreno.com/the-sub-hubMENTIONED:NeverSecond C30 Drink Mix: https://amzn.to/4enkKgkFairlife Protein Shakes: https://amzn.to/4enkKgkThorne Vitamin D and K2: https://nutritional-revolution.com/product/thorne-vitamin-d-k2-liquid/Beta-Alanine: https://nutritional-revolution.com/product/thorne-beta-alanine/Higher Dose PEMF: https://go.shopmy.us/p-65149034Omni PEMF Ring: https://go.shopmy.us/p-65149244Supplements 20% off on Fullscript: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/kchannellThorne Vitamin CProbioticsIronCollagenCalciumFish OilTIMESTAMPS:1:01 - Introduction to Dani Moreno3:19 - Dani's Injury Journey5:54 - Mental Resilience During Recovery9:10 - Nutritional Strategies for Healing11:22 - Importance of Blood Work16:22 - Training and Race Preparation38:04 - Innovative Recovery Tools29:14 - Upcoming Races and Goals45:18 - Community and Support SystemsMORE NRApply to work with Kyla → https://p.bttr.to/3ZrwzcFUse code NEWPOD10 for 10% off our meal plans → https://nutritional-revolution.com/products/CONNECT Instagram → www.instagram.com/nutritionalrevolutionSponsorship inquiries → kyla.c@nutritional-revolution.comInterested in having your biomarkers or nutrigenomics checked? How to Build Team Buy-In for Your Maintenance Club Program

Send us Fan MailCulture is the make-or-break factor for maintenance programs, and if your team isn't excited to offer your membership, the offer won't move no matter how good the pricing looks. I'm riding solo to talk through how to build team buy-in for maintenance clubs and any new initiative you're launching, especially in home services like HVAC, plumbing, and pest control where great technicians aren't always natural promoters. The goal isn't to turn people into pushy sales reps, it's to give them the tools to explain real value with confidence. We unpack why maintenance memberships matter beyond predictable recurring revenue: they improve customer retention, increase lifetime value, reduce seasonality, and help you become the homeowner's trusted go-to. I share practical ways to tighten up your maintenance program structure and branding, make the benefits easy to say out loud, and connect the program to personal wins for your team like consistent hours, job security, and more opportunity in homes where trust is already built. Then we get tactical: where your maintenance plan should show up (website, invoices, social media, CSR scripts), how to use simple numbers and projections to set clear goals, and why role playing is the fastest way to build confident language for real customer objections. We also talk incentives and recognition, plus small “pep rally” moves that bring energy back to the shop without blowing your budget. If you want your maintenance club to grow, it starts with leadership, standards, and culture. Subscribe, share this with an owner who needs it, and leave a review with the one buy-in challenge you're trying to solve. If you enjoyed this chat From the Yellow Chair, consider joining our newsletter, "Let's Sip Some Lemonade," where you can receive exclusive interviews, our bank of helpful downloadables, and updates on upcoming content. Please consider following and drop a review below if you enjoyed this episode. Send us Fan MailYour maintenance club might be the most valuable asset in your home service business and you're probably underusing it. We're talking about how to turn one-time HVAC and home service customers into loyal members who stick around for years, book proactively, refer their friends, and call you first when something goes wrong. That's how you grow lifetime value without living on the daily grind of chasing leads. I'm joined by Wes Friednash from Smart AC, who's deep in the weeds with membership programs across hundreds of contractors in the United States and Canada. We get specific about what makes a maintenance club successful: benefits that homeowners actually care about, perks that feel high value but don't crush your margins, and why “front of the line” priority can be a stronger selling point than a generic discount. We also talk about the branding piece, because the name, the vibe, and the community you build can make the difference between a boring plan and a program customers proudly join. Then we level up into modern maintenance clubs powered by technology and data. We cover monitoring, alerts, proactive outreach, filter programs, and how automation prevents the hidden cost of paying for your own members through paid ads. If you want your maintenance program to drive recurring revenue, customer retention, and future system replacement opportunities, this one is for you. Subscribe for more practical growth strategies, share this with a contractor friend, and leave a review so more home service owners can find the show.If you enjoyed this chat From the Yellow Chair, consider joining our newsletter, "Let's Sip Some Lemonade," where you can receive exclusive interviews, our bank of helpful downloadables, and updates on upcoming content. Please consider following and drop a review below if you enjoyed this episode. PPC for Contractors: Turning Paid Ads Into Booked Jobs w/ Brett Hansen

Send us Fan MailPPC has a reputation in home services: expensive, unpredictable, and somehow always blamed when the phones aren't turning into booked work. We sit down with Brett Hansen from WebFX to make pay-per-click advertising practical for contractors who want revenue, not vanity metrics. We talk about PPC the way it really works, as a Google Ads auction, and why the same budget can either buy you booked jobs or burn cash depending on setup, targeting, and what happens after the call comes in.We dig into the biggest reasons PPC for contractors fails: underfunding, bailing out too early, and judging success by clicks and impressions instead of conversions. Brett lays out the L.O.S.S. timeline (Learning, Optimization, Sweet Spot) and why you should expect a real ramp before ROI shows up. Then we get blunt about the operational side: if your booking rate is low, you don't have a lead problem, you have a call handling problem. Lead speed, CSR training, and listening to recordings can move your results faster than swapping ad copy. From there, we get tactical on the foundations that improve ROAS: sending traffic to the right landing page (not the homepage), setting campaigns to optimize for conversions, cleaning up search terms, and using call tracking plus CRM attribution in tools like ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro so you can tie spend to real revenue. We also compare Google Local Services Ads (LSA) vs PPC, why layering them works, and what a realistic monthly budget looks like in small markets versus competitive metros. If you want a clearer view of what's working, what's not, and what to fix next, listen through and take notes.
