When the Savior teaches us to Judge Not, what does that really mean. Living in this world means that we will have to make judgements in order to make choices. Today we will talk about it.
In this episode, we discuss the difference between judgement and correction. Judgement is not for improvement, it's a conclusion, whereas correction is for the purpose of improvement. Accepting correction can be hard and oftentimes we interpret correction as judgement. (2) For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you. (3) Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye? (4) Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye? (5) You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.”#JudgeNot #Dontjudge #Dontjudgeme Before we go any further, is Jesus telling us to never remove the plank out of others eyes? No, He did not say that. He said to get yourselves right, then you can see clearly to help others. As we see Paul expressing the same concept:Romans 2:1-3 “Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things. (2) We know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. (3) Do you think this, O man who judges those who practice such things, and do the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?”So, as we can clearly “SEE”, there is nuance and perspective that needs to be understood to fully grasp at exactly what Jesus was saying. The first step to unravel this ball of yarn is to look at what the word “Judge” actually means. Most take it to mean to make a determination of wrong or right, good and evil, concerning another's actions. Yet, we find it is not a determination of wrong and right, yet more like a condemning of an individual's soul. We can look at a murderer and determine that is wrong, and let them know they are a murderer. But we are not God and cannot tell them that they can never receive salvation after the murder. It’s time for the 99th Sonitotum with Matthew Wayne Selznick, the podcast about making stuff (mostly writing), finding success as we each define it for ourselves, and staying healthy and sane in the process. Maureen Morrissey is a writer for online publications and a published novelist; retired educator; and wife/mother/grandmother/dog mommy. In her spare time, she attends live theater events and rock concerts, and investigates the integrity of roof top bars in her hometown NYC. Maureen has been a writer for as long as she remembers. She began writing her first novel, Woven: Six Stories, One Epic Journey in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the day after retiring from teaching fourth grade. It was published in November of 2020. She published a second novel, Sonder: Janie's Story in March 2022, and her third, Seeing is Believing in June 2023. She published a short story, “Win, Lose or Draw,” at the beginning of January 2024, and her most recent release is the children’s picture book Country Dog, City Dog. So often, we hear the term, "Judge Not," in our world. But what does that mean? Who is that for? Are we to judge? What does the Bible say? Check it out!

There are two words from the Bible that everyone in the Western World knows, has committed to heart, has meditated on, and speaks out boldly like their life depends on it — Judge Not! But when we look further at scripture, we see that not only are we permitted to judge, but we must judge, albeit with a crucial caveat — we are not the ultimate judge; God is.
