He is the host of the Radical Personal Finance podcast and, as you'll hear in this episode, is also passionate about education and worldschooling with his five children. Since Joshua has discussed finance on over 1,000 episodes of his podcast, today, Joshua and I begin a three-part series in which we discuss everything but finance. In this conversation, we dive into Joshua's approach to educating his five children while travelling the world. TODAY'S CONVERSATION WITH JOSHUA SHEATS Learn about Joshua's own educational upbringing, which included an eclectic mix of homeschooling, public school, a private Christian school and a traditional university. Hear about the “conspiracy theory” Joshua uncovered about the insidious nature of government school systems. Listen to Joshua describe the “knowledge gap” between the United States and China and what it means for their respective approaches to education. Discover why Joshua has come to believe that education is always religious in nature Hear Joshua explain how raising five children taught him there is no such thing as “one size fits all” parenting advice or educational method. Listen in as Joshua describes how relationships are built on “the currency of time” and why time spent with children early on is so critical to character development. Discover how Joshua learned how to create a controlled, positive environment around technology, which has encouraged his children to use it for positive, educational purposes. By the end of the episode, you'll understand why Joshua and I both want to “have it all” when it comes to raising our children and why you can legit have it all, too. Their behavior is a language really. If we're able to understand that language, it helps us better as educators. My goal is to have our teachers, everyone that we hire, whoever's in my building to make sure that we are hitting the social emotional needs of our students just as much as we're doing the academic, because if one is lacking, the other one can't thrive.” -Joshua Stamper Full Transcript 241: Joshua Stamp's Transcript Joshua’s Resources & Contact Info: Aspire: The Leadership Development Podcast - Home Aspire: The Leadership Development Podcast by Joshua Stamper Joshua Stamper (@Joshua__Stamper) Joshua Stamper (@joshua__stamper) Hanlon's Razor: Are Your Coworkers Evil or Just Dumb?
