Benjamin slumps into his chair and sighs, missing the 2022 Bentley Flying Spur he's recently tested. It's his first taste of Bently goodness and he has a lot to say about about the ultra-luxurious, ultra exclusive sedan. He goes through some of the pricey options (like the hood ornament) and intimately describes the car's flashy James Bondian dashboard. Sami then gives us his quick impressions of the new all-wheel-drive 2022 BMW M4 Competition, which he drove on the curvy course at Thermal. He follows that up 2022 BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe, a car that may look like the average 8 Series, but which hides a far more exclusive secret, forcing Benjamin to grill Sami about his sensibilities by asking if this Alpina worth nearly $10,000 more than the M8 Gran Coupe that the two podcast hosts enjoyed just a year ago. Listen to get all the details as well as to hear a deep Hellraiser reference, coming in hot for our spookiest holiday.
I'm so pleased to welcome back Dave Amiott (Dr. Mindbender from Cold Slither: Behind The Rock) as we watch what is a pretty good episode of Extreme! Ballistic goes undercover in a James Bondian adventure to expose the truth behind Iron Klaw!
"The Shamon U" Aired: October 13, 1973 A scientist has discovered the means to mine the skies above for gold from passing meteors. But his get rich quick scheme has a horrible after effect for the ecology of our planet and the Super Friends must stop him before it's too late. John is making this episode sound better than what it seems in his opinion, while Dan Greenfield of 13th Dimension finds some things to praise about the story. Together, they discuss the James Bondian nature of some of these stories, the vocal talents of Shannon Farnon, and the usefulness of Aquaman in these early episodes. John references The Ultimate Super Friends Companion by Will Rodgers. Check it out for yourself by purchasing a copy via Amazon. Dan Greenfield is the editor and co-creator of 13thDimension.com, a website devoted primarily to comics and pop culture, past and present. To him, the basic food groups are Batman, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek (the Original Series), James Bond, the Beatles and the Stones. But if he had to he'd be able to subsist on Batman alone. Channel 11 in New York was his favorite syndicated channel as a kid -- you can guess why -- followed closely by Channel 5. Channel 9 didn't really enter into it unless he was home sick and there wasn't much else on. He's married to his remarkably patient wife Wendy and his best sidekick is his son, Sam. They have two cats,Lex and Zod. Links 13th Dimension Website Facebook page Twitter

Recorded 7th October 2018 Well that was a week that was (as they say). Indonesia can't catch a break as the earthquake not only caused a deadly tsunami but set off a volcanic eruption. Haiti was struck with an earthquake and South Korea by a typhoon. As if that wasn't enough Bloomberg came out with a scary story about a hardware hack that has turned into a massive mystery. Microsoft pulled their Windows 10 update, Simon discovered a big downside to Apple News on Mac and a data aggregator's stash containing 212 million contact listings as well as nine billion data points related to companies and organisations wasn't secured! Personally I think the Bloomberg story smacks of FUD... Not one named source, not one “on the record” comment, not one piece of hard evidence. The whole thing smacks of Manchurian Candidate, reds under the bed, cold war era, conspiracy hysteria aimed at giving us all the heeby jeebies about China to me.. I don't believe such a hardware hack is impossible, but it would be highly difficult to do and would have to be snuck in to the design very very early (you can't just plug such a thing into a board like a piece of Lego). I am pretty sure that there would be much easier ways to exfiltrate data than via this almost James Bondian sort of plot. Security researcher named in China spy chip story voices doubts – Cult of Mac APPLE Well I have discovered a massive downside to Apple News on the Mac… Any links that are from Apple News only open in Apple News… and there seems to be no way to get to the original content - unlike on iOS where you can share out to Safari… pasting the link into Safari just offers to open it in Apple News (Cancel or Allow). The app can't be modified or removed so now I'm forced onto a 3rd party browser to get the original - which is basically a poor experience.. I want it to work like on iOS… it brings you news and if you want to open the original you can. It NEEDS an open in Safari button! Feedback sent to Apple!!!
