The third saying from the cross is found in John 19:26-27, "Woman, behold thy son!" and then, "Behold thy mother!" Another saying that was selfless. John referred to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved. We can refer to ourselves as that as well. "He treats me best, I often say, but all God's children feel that way." Jesus wasn't being disrespectful of His mother when He called her woman. It was a term being close to the term ma'am. Jesus lived His life for the sake of the family. It is God's desire that we become members of the family. God is not the father of everyone, He is the creator of everyone. We are not His children until we are adopted through salvation. Satan will do things to thwart your relationship with God. The family is under attack and people are attempting to redefine family. God wants to bless the families. God created the very first family, Adam and Eve.

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained. If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.

How important is the Word of God? The Word is not only the vine, it is also the pruning agent that dictates growth to a fruitful end. Our ability to produce fruit that will remain eternally requires a continual abiding in the vine (the Word) and allowing the pruning process of the Word of God in our lives.
