Walking in obedience to God is a transformative journey that leads to spiritual growth, fulfilment, and alignment with His divine will. It's asking from God to not only have a servant's heart but a service heart. A heart to love others, have patience and cultivate a heart of trust.Being obedient to God unlocks his blessings, draws you closer to Him. What does the Lord . . . ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve [him] . . . with all your heart and . . . soul . . . ? Deuteronomy 10:12Biblical Examples of ObedienceThe story of Abraham and Isaac illustrates the radical nature of obedience. Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac demonstrated his unwavering trust in God. Even when faced with a daunting command, Abraham obeyed, leading to God's provision and blessing. By looking at Abraham's selfless act, it encourages us to trust God's plan, even when we cannot see the outcome, but we can see his hand.As you tune in, remember your worth today. The Life of Moses: Lessons from Faith and Covenant In this sermon, we embarked on a journey through the life of Moses, exploring the profound lessons of faith and covenant that his story brings to light. Moses, a central figure in the Bible, is renowned for his extraordinary relationship with God, described as meeting with God "face to face, as a man meets with a friend." This intimate relationship is shared only with Abraham, highlighting the significance of their stories. Genesis 12:1-3 - The Call of Abram The sermon begins by tracing Moses' story back to Genesis 12, where God calls Abram (later Abraham) to leave his homeland and promises to make him a great nation. This covenant is pivotal, as God promises Abram a people and a place, setting the stage for the unfolding narrative of Moses. Challenges and Faith Abram faced significant challenges: he had no land and no children. Despite these obstacles, Abram believed God's promises, a faith that was "credited to him as righteousness" (Genesis 15:6). This faith is foundational, as it demonstrates reliance on God's promises rather than human effort. Genesis 15:1-18 - The Covenant Ceremony In Genesis 15, God reaffirms His covenant with Abram through a profound ceremony. Abram prepares a sacrifice, and God alone passes through the pieces, symbolizing a unilateral covenant. This act signifies that God's promise does not depend on human actions but solely on His faithfulness. Moses: The Fulfillment of Promise Fast forward to Moses, who becomes the instrument through which God fulfills His covenant promise to Abram. Despite Moses' initial attempts to deliver his people by his own power, it is only through God's empowerment and guidance that he succeeds. Moses' story is a testament to God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises. Lessons for Today The sermon emphasizes that the life we long for is realized not by our efforts but by faith in God's promises. Just as Abram and Moses had to trust God to achieve what seemed impossible, we too must rely on God's plan for our lives. Our significance and legacy are not built on our abilities but on God's work in and through us. The New Covenant Drawing parallels to the New Testament, the sermon highlights the covenant established by Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice fulfilled God's promise to bless all nations through Abram. This new covenant, sealed in Jesus' blood, invites us into a relationship with God, offering forgiveness and eternal life. Conclusion The stories of Abram and Moses teach us that true fulfillment comes from trusting in God's promises. We are reminded that our identity as God's children is secured through faith in Jesus Christ, who accomplished what we could not on our own. As we reflect on these lessons, we are encouraged to trust in God's plan and live out our faith with confidence, knowing that He is faithful to His promises. For those seeking to deepen their faith and understanding of God's promises, the story of Moses provides a powerful example of God's unwavering commitment to His people. Let us embrace this journey of faith, trusting in the God who keeps His covenants and leads us into the life He has prepared for us.

Abram leaves Ur at God's call, stepping into the unknown and receiving promises of land, descendants, and blessing for all nations. His journey takes him through famine in Egypt, conflict with Lot, rescue missions, and encounters with Melchizedek, ending with God confirming His covenant of land and countless descendants under the stars. But what does it really mean to trust God when everything familiar is left behind?
Sarai gives Hagar to Abram, leading to Ishmael's birth and conflict that drives Hagar into the wilderness, where God promises her a future. God renames Abram and Sarai to Abraham and Sarah, promising Isaac despite their age. Abraham intercedes for Sodom before its destruction, while Lot escapes. How do human decisions and divine promises collide in moments of doubt and impatience?

This week we have Jade bringing the word on being a friend of God!
It's easy to look at the Old Testament and see a God who exacts justice out of anger. But, when you look a bit closer, you'll see that God's love for His people is so great that He must respond to destructive sin, and He walks with them on the way.March 19, 2026

In 1 John. 2:3-6, the writer says in verse three, "We know him." How well do you know Jesus Christ? John, the human penman for this epistle, knew the Lord Jesus. Their mothers were sisters. There is no doubt that they had an acquaintance because of that relationship, but there was more to it than that earthly acquaintance.

Joy is the serious business of Heaven. All of the Old Testament pointed to Jesus and the New Testament is His work. His work was the Gospel, which is GOOD news. This is joyful news. Every believer has been fully and completely set free of every spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and financial enslavement through Jesus. This is the Gospel. And this is JOYFUL news.

It is an audacious thought, but God invites us to be His friend. Typically, friendship involves FAMILIARITY and FONDNESS. I'd argue that God has already proven that He knows you well, and that He's so crazy about you that He exchanged something of great value for your rescue. The weak link in the friendship relationship is probably us. We might lack a bit in the FAMILIARITY of God by being sloppy in our study or pursuit of Him. We might be cool in our FONDNESS.
