In 2025 we drank 80 wines from 12 different countries and 3 different states in the US, interviewed 8 winemakers from all over the world, and released 5 minisodes on a variety of subjects. Listen in to learn about how many downloads we got this year, in how many countries our podcast was downloaded in, and how much money we spent on wine for the podcast this year. That's right, we buy all of our own wine, we do not accept wines sent to us from wineries or distributors because it is really important that we share real, honest reviews with you and help you to find authentically good wines - or avoid bad wines - that are reasonably priced. It's just what we do! You'll hear excerpts from episodes where we rated our top 5 and bottom 5 wines, some of which are pretty darn funny! In this year-end episode, I'm sharing the top five lessons that transformed my own health—and the health of so many patients I've worked with. These weren't quick fixes or resolutions that fizzled out in February. These were identity-level shifts that changed how I eat, move, think, and show up for myself. You'll hear about how my tastes evolved (yes, your palate really can change), how movement became a true non-negotiable, why structure creates more freedom—not less—and the mindset practices that kept me anchored during the busiest seasons. I also share the patterns I've seen repeatedly in patients navigating GLP-1 medications, metabolic healing, emotional eating, and long-term weight management. This episode wraps the year with grounded wisdom, compassion, and tools you can start using today. In This Episode, You'll Learn:Why your taste buds genuinely change over time—and how to create the conditions for that shift. The identity shift that makes daily movement automatic (and non-negotiable).How simple routines and structure actually reduce stress, emotional eating, and evening overeating. The mindset training required to maintain weight loss and navigate busy seasons with less friction. The role of community and support in sustaining long-term behavior change. Why building momentum—not perfection—was the biggest theme in both my life and my patients' successes this year. All of the information on this podcast is for general informational purposes only. While all right minded folks agree Die hard is every bit as much a holiday staple as say, It's a Wonderful Life, or Elf, some go to extreme lengths to squeeze any film with a Christmas tree into the mix. Seriously, who lights the fireplace, pours an eggnog and cues up Eyes Wide Shut? The hosts define their personal guidelines, and delve into their favorite "real" Christmas movies, and ultimately, songs. Send Katie a Text Message!! Today's episode is one I've been wanting to record for a long time because it's built entirely around the questions I hear every single week as a business coach. These are the questions that come up in strategy calls, Voxer messages, office hours, and hallway conversations at High Point. If you've ever felt overwhelmed, unsure about hiring, confused by your numbers, or stuck relying on referrals, you are not alone — and this episode is for you. I'm walking you through the real answers, not the emotional ones, so you can start making CEO-level decisions in your business.IN THIS EPISODE, I COVER:Why feeling overwhelmed usually isn't a hiring problem, but a clarity and systems problemHow to know whether you actually need help — and whether that should be a contractor or a W2 employeeWhat your numbers need to tell you before you ever make a hireWhy relying only on referrals leaves your business vulnerable, especially in changing marketsWhat a sustainable, predictable marketing strategy actually looks like for designersHow to align your financial reality with your goals instead of relying on vision boards aloneWhy pricing is math and positioning, not emotionHow to know when you're truly ready to scaleWhy niching isn't limiting — it's how premium businesses growHow to raise prices without guilt and stop undervaluing your expertiseWhy you can't “do it all” at once — and how the accordion model allows your business to support your life If there's one thing I want you to take away from this episode, it's this: you cannot reach your goals without understanding your numbers. Every single time. Clarity comes from data, not panic, and confidence comes from knowing what your business can actually support. If you're ready to take the next strategic step — not the emotional one — I'd love to help. You can book a free 15-minute problem-solving session with me at fixmydesignbiz.com. Send me a Text Message! In this episode, we are going to talk about favor. That's an interesting word isn't it? Favor. It's used multiple times in the Christmas stories. When we think of the word favor, it's usually used in a sentence like this, "Hey would you do me a favor?" When we ask someone to do us a favor we're saying, "You don't owe me. I don't necessarily deserve this, haven't earned it, but I'm wondering if you would do it anyway. Do me a favor." Often that's the question behind our prayers is, "God would you please do me a favor." The Dictionary suggests that favor is kindness beyond what is due or usual. It makes me think that perhaps the a good two word description of Christmas is "God's Favor." As we take a peak at Mary the mother of Jesus, we can pray, "God would you do me a favor?"

The episode opens in Michigan, where a viral clip of a fundraising moment sparked outrage online; then raised bigger questions about context, attention, and the speed of social media. Are megachurches meeting a growing hunger for connection in a lonely era or blending faith into America's self-help culture? He wasn't born in a gated community or a palace with guards. He was born to us and there is no us that is not welcome to come home. Messy people have been drawn to Jesus for thousands of years, and  He's been drawn to them. And because of that...your best Christmas is yet to come!

Sometimes known as the “other” white wine of Burgundy, Aligoté is the bargain white from one of the world's most famous wine regions. It is the child of Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc, the latter of which is a wine that many think is now extinct because French nobility hated it so much they burned and banned it. Aligoté is often used in sparkling wine, and as a standalone varietal, it is often described as acidic and neutral, making it a very good food wine. We agree with that description. It is not a complex wine, but it is a wine that is easy to drink and would be fantastic with fish, white meat, creamy sauces, and spicy foods. If you are looking for a reasonably priced alternative to expensive Burgundy wines, this may be right up your alley! We also talk about the latest red wine and ice cream craze and give our two cents about it, and we have a guest appearance from Frank Racioppi from Ear Worthy. We live in a culture that sees evil as a disease, a pyschological sickness, but the Bible describes evil as personal, malicious and dangerous. That first Christmas led to war in heaven. Christmas is a cosmic invasion in the epic battle between God and evil; between darkness and light. Comment on the Show by Sending Mark a Text Message.Tired of skipping ads while someone tiptoes around workplace truth? We cut straight to the power dynamics that define your job, explain why “employment at will” keeps bias hidden, and share the practical moves that help you protect income, reputation, and momentum. After nearly three decades in employment law, I've watched the same tactics repeat across famous brands and billionaire-led companies—selective layoffs, weaponized performance plans, hush clauses in severance, and policy gray areas that punish anyone without leverage. So I'm putting the playbook on the table, clearly and without sponsors shaping what can be said.We talk about the dysfunctional parent–child model many employers create and how that robs you of a voice in security and growth. I break down why cause-based termination and real contracts change behavior, and how you can push for fairness even when the system resists it. You'll hear how to build your own paper trail, turn verbal promises into written commitments, and ask the questions that force transparency around criteria, metrics, and promotion paths. The point isn't to spark conflict for sport—it's to give you a calm, proven method to navigate bias, negotiate severance, and avoid traps that trade your rights for vague “opportunities.”This show stays raw and ad-free because independence matters. I use AI to speed case analysis where it helps, but the judgment is earned through courtroom scars and settlements with household-name employers. If you want straight answers about discrimination, termination, retaliation, and severance strategy—without euphemisms or corporate spin—you're in the right place. Listen now, share it with a colleague who needs backup, and if it helps, leave a review on Apple or Spotify so more workers can find it. Let's grow a community that knows the rules and plays to win. How do these student SOCs keep organizations safe while students learn? What does a typical shift and escalation look like? Can a philosophy or nursing major really become an analyst? Send me a Text Message! In this episode, Mike reflects on the final stretch of 2025 — a year marked by intensity, and now, exhaustion. After running hot from August through early November, the season shifted, and life asked him to slow down, recover, and honor the deeper rhythms at play. This episode is an invitation to listen to your body, feel the energetic cycles, and stop trying to turn winter into summer.Key TakeawaysYou Are Always in a Season — Whether You Realize It or Not When you learn to live in tune with the energy around you, resistance disappears. Most of Us Try to Force Summer in the Middle of Winter The grind mindset disconnects you from your body, your truth, and your spiritual rhythm. Each Season Has a Role: Spring Plants, Summer Grows, Fall Harvests, Winter Rests Your business, body, and soul follow the same cycles — when you let them.Burnout Happens When You Ignore the Season You're In Pain and sickness are often messages from the body that you're out of sync.Goal Setting Isn't One-Size-Fits-All If goals light you up, great. If they drain you, there's another way to move forward.Notable Quotes“The only decision that I had to make was do I honor the natural cycles and seasons of life and allow kind of winter to set in? Or do I try to fight it and turn winter back into summer?”“Nature has cycles and nature has seasons.”“Most people try to fight life. They try to force life. They try to wrestle life to the ground. They try to dominate life.”“Whatever feels aligned for you, do it. Whatever feels unaligned for you, let it go and release it.”“Once you find that, you can let go of all the grind and the hustle and align with your soul's natural instincts and intuition.”Call to Action
