And he was a Samaritan. 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 So when they werefilled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.Ephesians 5:2020 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,1 Thessalonians 5:1818 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.Psalm 136:1-31 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! Many people have experienced God's goodness and even His healing power in their life. But there's a difference between seeing God work and expressing gratitude. In this message, Pastor Scott Savage explores a story from Luke 17 where ten people experienced a miracle from Jesus, but one responded differently. This lesson about being seen by Jesus and responding with gratitude is one we all need.

On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. 15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Last Sunday we celebrated two things- first is crazy saint of Assisi – Francis; and how when he embraced lady Poverty allowed him to see the goodness of God in all things and all people and all creation. He lived a life of penance - making room for God in creation, in the leper, in the Sultan. Each taught him about God- the amazing work of SPCA -> today give freely to support this work. John wonders what this might say to the climate crisis we face and asks who might we need to learn to make room for to be taught about GodThe sermon notes can be found here

The Bible has a lot to say about gratitude, too. In EVERYTHING give thanks. But it’s not always so easy to feel thankful. Sometimes our circumstances make us feel anxious, or depressed, or angry. And having a thankful heart is the last thing on our minds. Listen to this fresh interpretation on The Ten Lepers story. And find the key to gratitude.
