Healing from Within! "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" Proverbs 4:23 In the tapestry of life, God beckons us to embark on a profound journey of healing that begins deep within our souls. The story of David's repentance in Psalm 51 reveals the rawness of a heart yearning for restoration. When David pleads, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” his plea demonstrates that true healing comes when we confront our inner battles. His vulnerability reminds us that acknowledging our flaws is the first step toward renewal, a transition from sorrow to joy. Proverbs 4:23 implores, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Our hearts are the wellspring of our thoughts, emotions, and actions. They are where God's Word must dwell, lighting the path to inner peace. As we immerse ourselves in scripture, remember, "God's promise is medicine — where pain once spoke loudly, peace begins to sing." So when we begin to witness the transformative power of His love, let us remember the promises of God. Jeremiah 30:17 says, "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after." So, let “True Healing Starts from Within!” as we journey through the valleys of despair towards the mountaintops of hope. Just as David experienced renewal when he sought God, we too can find strength in our struggles. Let's pray as David prayed in Psalm 51:10, saying, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Remember, inner healing fosters outer strength. When we shield our hearts with faith, we allow the Holy Spirit to pour His grace into our wounds. This sacred connection initiates true change, leading to a renewed mind, as Romans 12:2 echoes. As we embrace this journey, we realize that our scars tell a story of God's unwavering love, and our deepest pain can inspire others to seek His healing. Amen. Ezekiel 36:26 says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." Amen. Prayer for the Day! Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Word, which brings healing and hope. Lord, heal my inner wounds and renew my spirit with Your unfailing love. May Your presence envelop us, guiding us to discover the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help us to guard our hearts and open ourselves to the transformative power of Your grace. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen. https://maglife.org

Ron LeFlore's trajectory from a maximum-security prison cell to starting in Major League Baseball's All-Star Game is a narrative of improbable survival and self-inflicted exile. In this episode, we sit down with Adam Henig, author of "Baseball's Outcast: The Story of Ron LeFlore", to unpack the gritty, unvarnished reality of a man who was as much a product of Detroit's turbulent East Side as he was a victim of his own choices. We explore LeFlore's early years in a one-bedroom apartment plagued by poverty , the formative trauma of losing his brother Harry — an Olympic boxer — to a ring injury, and the heroin addiction that led to the armed robbery that defined his youth. Henig takes us through the high-stakes process of documenting a life that feels more like a crime thriller than a sports biography. We discuss the "76-year-old jigsaw puzzle" Henig spent over four years piecing together through dozens of phone calls with LeFlore, despite the two never meeting in person. Henig also reveals the shadowy figures who facilitated LeFlore's rise, including Mafia associate Jimmy Karalla, who used his connections at the legendary Lindell AC bar to secure LeFlore a prison furlough for a Tiger Stadium tryout. Beyond the 30-game hitting streak and the stolen-base titles, we examine the dark side of celebrity that LeFlore could never quite outrun. Henig sheds light on LeFlore's dangerous proximity to Frank Usher and the "Murder Row" crime family, a connection that ultimately eroded the trust of the baseball establishment. Finally, we look at the sobering post-career years, from working as an airport skycap to facing the health crises that cost him his leg. This conversation offers an essential look at the heavy price of a second chance and the complicated legacy of a man who reached the heights of the game only to find himself an outcast. + + + SUPPORT THE SHOW: Buy Us a Coffee: https://ko-fi.com/goodseatsstillavailable The "Good Seats" Store: http://tee.pub/lic/RdiDZzQeHSY BUY THE BOOK: "Baseball's Outcast: The Story of Ron LeFlore": https://amzn.to/4vJT7pO SPONSOR THANKS: Old School Shirts.com (10% off promo code: GOODSEATS): https://oldschoolshirts.com/goodseats Royal Retros (10% off promo code: SEATS): https://www.503-sports.com?aff=2 FIND AND FOLLOW: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/GoodSeatsStillAvailable Web: https://goodseatsstillavailable.com/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/goodseatsstillavailable.com X/Twitter: https://twitter.com/GoodSeatsStill YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@goodseatsstillavailable Threads: https://www.threads.net/@goodseatsstillavailable Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/goodseatsstillavailable/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GoodSeatsStillAvailable/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/good-seats-still-available/
When twenty-three-year-old Ron LeFlore played his first organized baseball game, it was in a yard at the State Prison of Southern Michigan where he was serving five to fifteen years for armed robbery. An extraordinary athlete, the Detroit native had luck on his side: his coach, a convicted felon, had connections to the Detroit Tigers. Within three-and-a-half years, Ron went from a prison inmate to a Tiger centerfielder. In Baseball's Outcast: The Story of Ron LeFlore (Bloomsbury, 2026), Adam Henig tells for the first time in full the unbelievable life and career of Ron LeFlore. Blessed with blinding speed and a powerful swing, Ron shed his jailbird past to become one of the game's premiere hitters and its most dangerous base stealer during the latter half of the 1970s. His rags-to-riches life story became a bestselling book and a made-for-television movie starring actor LeVar Burton, fresh from his performance in Roots. But the good times did not last. Less than a decade after making his Major League debut, Ron was finished with baseball. Baseball's Outcast is not just another book about the rise and fall of a troubled athlete. Henig goes deeper, tracing the star player's family roots, exploring the segregated world that Ron was raised in, examining the criminal justice system he was subjected to, and revealing how childhood trauma shaped his success and downfall. Filled with insight from Ron himself, as well as from former teammates, coaches, front-office personnel, inmates, childhood friends, and relatives, Baseball's Outcast provides unprecedented access into Ron's life story and the obstacles he faced every step of the way. Tonight she will continue her fight to end property taxes here in Michigan and what we must to to help. As I watched Colin Kaepernick's documentary, I thought about the times in my life I felt rejected, times I felt underestimated by the men in my life, and the times I felt outcast by different groups and like I'm constantly walking a path trying to find the right one. This week on History's Greatest Idiots, we're trying a slightly different mini-documentary format to explore one of the most bizarre success stories in American comedy: Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., the man who proved you could become a millionaire by hitting produce with a mallet. From Science to SledgehammersBorn 24th July 1946 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Leo suffered severe asthma. His family relocated to South Tampa, Florida, for the warm weather. He became a championship roller skater at his father's rink, but wanted to be a scientist. In 1970, he graduated from the University of South Florida with a chemical engineering degree and English literature minor, then worked as a chemist. But when he became road manager for musician Jim Stafford, Kenny Rogers' manager asked if he would open for Rogers on a 100-night tour. Gallagher went from no stage experience to performing in America's largest auditoriums overnight. The Sledge-O-Matic and Cable Television StardomGallagher's big break came in 1975 with an appearance on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. But his 1980 Showtime special launched him to stardom as cable television exploded. The centrepiece was the Sledge-O-Matic, a parody of infomercials. Gallagher smashed apples, oranges, cottage cheese, Big Macs, video game controllers, and finally watermelons. Chunks exploded into the audience. The first rows were covered in plastic sheeting. Audiences brought raincoats. They called it being 'Gallagherized'. From 1981 to 1987, he produced 16 specials on Showtime. During the 1980s and 1990s, he was America's highest-earning stand-up comedian, performing 200 shows yearly for 35 years, over 3,500 performances total, destroying tens of thousands of watermelons.Critics and RankingsWhilst Gallagher sold out theatres, the comedy establishment had mixed feelings. Critics dismissed his act as lowbrow. In 2004, Comedy Central ranked him 100th on their list of greatest stand-up comedians. Dead last. Gallagher was bitter, feeling underappreciated despite massive commercial success. The Brother WarsIn the early 1990s, brother Ron asked to perform Leo's routines. Leo agreed if Ron made it clear he was Ron Gallagher, not Leo. Ron toured as 'Gallagher II'. But promotional materials became unclear. In August 2000, Leo sued for trademark violation. Courts sided with Leo. But Gallagher's entire family sided with Ron. The estrangement lasted for life. The Final ActGallagher continued touring into his 70s. He owned patents for slot machine software. In 2003, he ran for California Governor, finishing 16th of 135 candidates. He appeared in a GEICO commercial. His health declined with three heart attacks between 2011 and 2012, collapsing onstage in Minnesota and before a Dallas show. Each time he recovered and returned. After 2012, he reduced touring. COVID-19 in 2020 stopped him entirely. On 11th November 2022, he died from organ failure in Palm Springs, aged 76.LegacyGallagher never got respect from the comedy establishment, but he had 35 years of sold-out shows, millions of fans, and the satisfaction of making people happy. Not bad for a guy who just wanted to be a scientist. From Science to SledgehammersThe Sledge-O-Matic and Cable Television StardomCritics and RankingsThe Brother WarsThe Final ActLegacy
Finishing the presentation of "The Dark Gift." Thanks to you. People are finally starting to notice Nobie Miller . . . a lot of people at the Pickle Days carnival. And they're noticing her a lot.Rish goes to a pretty dark place (no pun intended) with the discussion afterward, but also explains the main character's ridiculous name (still not as bad as the majority of Gen Z names are--Braxton, Oakley, Addison, Jaiden, and Rayleigh--I'm looking at you).Warning: Wilson Phillips.Download the file directly by Right-Clicking HERE.Support me on Patreon HERE!Logo by Gino "The Slightly-Tanned Gift" Moretto.

Incident Recap: On February 18, 2026, around 9:30 p.m., Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) officers attempted to stop Da'Quain Johnson (32, Black man) on a bicycle near Eastern Avenue SE, suspecting he was armed (he was a convicted felon on parole with a prior gun charge). Johnson fled into an apartment complex parking lot. Officers deployed a K-9, leading to a struggle on the ground. An officer fired 3 shots into Johnson while he was face-down (K-9 biting his arm/neck area). Johnson died early February 19 at a hospital. Two Videos & Conflicting Narratives:GRPD Bodycam/Dashcam Footage (released February 19–20): Shows chase, K-9 deployment, struggle. Officers yell "He's got a f***ing gun!" and claim Johnson pointed a firearm at an officer's face ("I saw the barrel pointed right at my face"). A handgun was recovered beneath Johnson; police say he resisted and posed imminent threat.Bystander Video (viral on social media, shared by activists and Commissioner Robert Womack): Shows Johnson face-down on the ground, hands possibly behind his back, K-9 still biting, officer firing from above. Family and community dispute police narrative, calling it an "execution" or "lynching"—mother Angelica Johnson said after viewing his body: "They shot him in the back of the head... the photos will speak for themselves." No gun clearly visible in bystander clip.Current Status: Four agencies investigating (GRPD internal, Michigan State Police, Kent County Prosecutor, possibly federal). No charges against officer yet (on leave). Community outrage growing—vigils, marches, press conferences demanding full footage, independent autopsy, accountability. Amnesty International USA called for truth/systemic change. Still local/regional (WOOD-TV, FOX 17, MLive, Michigan Advance)—no national pickup (CNN/FOX/CBS/NBC/GMA) as of now.Panel Angle: Disputing narratives, police use of force, K-9 tactics, racial justice—how this hits MC communities facing similar scrutiny.Woman Pleads Guilty to Drive-By Shooting at Hells Angels Clubhouse in EvelethIncident: On September 4, 2024, Adrien Marie Gunderson (40, Forbes, MN) fired multiple shots at the front door of the Hells Angels clubhouse in Eveleth, Minnesota (St. Louis County, Iron Range area). She got out of her vehicle, approached the door, and shot—charged with drive-by shooting toward an occupied building and unlawful possession of a firearm (felon).Plea & Outcome: On February 23–24, 2026, Gunderson pleaded guilty to felony drive-by shooting. Plea agreement allows her to argue for departure from guidelines (presumptive 50+ months prison due to history). Sentencing set for May 2026—faces up to 4 years or more. No injuries reported; motive unclear (possible dispute/personal grudge).Context: Highlights ongoing tensions targeting Hells Angels properties—rare for a woman perpetrator.UNBELIEVABLE! 1%ers Outcast, Hells Lovers & Sin City Party Together St. LouisEvent: A recent "all Black" or unity party in St. Louis, Missouri, brought together chapters of Outcast MC, Hells Lovers MC, and Sin City (likely Sin City Disciples or similar)—three 1%er clubs known for rivalries or territorial history.Details: Outcast held the east wall, Sin City the south, Hells Lovers the stage. Reports describe it as peaceful—peace, fun, love, no drama. Shared widely on biker pages (e.g., Black Dragon Biker Facebook, Biker Liberty) as "UNBELIEVABLE" unity amid MC chaos elsewhere.Significance: Rare cross-club gathering—highlights shifting alliances or respect in the scene. Ties into broader MC unity themes.MC Protocol: Stopping Brothers from Sabotaging Your Marriage/RelationshipCore Discussion: In MC culture, "brothers" can unintentionally (or intentionally) interfere in members' personal lives—e.g., encouraging wild behavior, late nights, or drama that strains marriages/old lady relationships.Protocol Tips:Set boundaries early: Communicate with your old lady and club about expectations (e.g., no solo partying, respect for committed status).Club support: Lean on trusted brothers for accountability (e.g., "call me out if I'm slipping").Old lady role: Many view old ladies as partners—protect the relationship as club priority.Consequences: Sabotage can lead to internal drama or expulsion if it harms brotherhood.Panel Angle: Real-talk on loyalty vs. personal life—how to balance club life without letting it wreck marriages.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-dragon-s-lair-motorcycle-chaos--3267493/support.Sponsor the channel by signing up for our channel memberships. Matt Melvin is the author of Bullied Behind Bars and a speaker who shares hard-earned lessons about accountability, resilience, and the human cost of the justice system. Raised feeling like an outsider, Matthew struggled to find belonging from an early age. As a young adult working at a car dealership in Vermont, a single impulsive decision—made while feeling wronged and unheard—led to a criminal conviction and an 18-month prison sentence. What followed would profoundly change his life. While incarcerated in general population, Matthew faced extreme isolation, bullying, and violence. As a gay man with an adult autism diagnosis, he learned quickly how unforgiving and unsafe prison environments can be for those who don't fit in. Rather than allowing those experiences to define him, Matthew emerged determined to take responsibility for his actions while also speaking honestly about systemic failures, mental health, and human dignity behind bars. Today, Matthew uses his story to help others understand the real consequences of poor decisions, the importance of accountability, and the resilience required to rebuild after loss. His work focuses on lessons learned, personal growth, and the belief that even after the darkest chapters, change is possible.
Welcome to Dev Game Club, where this week we begin a series on 1985's Ultima IV. After talking about the recent Defeating Games for Charity, we set the game in its time, talk about our encounters in the past with the series, and then dive into the manuals and the start of the game.
