Maria Korp, a 50-year-old mother of two from Melbourne, went missing in February 2005. She was discovered four days later in the boot of her car barely alive, after being strangled and left for dead. Police first suspected her husband, Joe, but it was more complicated than that. As his mistress revealed, he was the one who provided her with the weapon telling her it was the "only way they could be together." Former detective Narelle Fraser was the one who discovered Maria’s body in the boot that day, 20 years ago. It's a case she will never forget. Neil Gordon Wilson pretended to be a fish. People in his home town of Horsham in Victoria accepted his quirky ways, but were shocked when his dead body was found in a paddock in 1995. Maria Korp was strangled by her husband Joe Korp’s lover Tania Herman, put into the boot of a car and abandoned in Melbourne in 2005, in what became known as The Body In The Boot case. Herman was jailed, and Joe Korp met his own fate.

In February 2005, Melbourne woman Maria Korp was found clinging to life in the boot of her car. The car had been abandoned near the War Memorial, a stone's throw from Melbourne's police headquarters on St Kilda Road, and Narelle Fraser was among the first on the scene when it was reported by a security guard.
