Sarah Jessica Parker has spent decades as Carrie Bradshaw, but here’s the twist: she’s never actually watched herself do any of it. Not the sex, not the shopping, not even the typing. So is it the ultimate act of self-care, or just a lil bit lazy? Plus, everyone’s talking about texting less—until they’re the ones left on read. We unpack the modern crisis of communication overload, from parenting to work to friendships, and why it’s never as simple as just putting your phone down. If you thought podcasts were just for your ears, think again. Vodcasts are taking over and we feel… conflicted about it. Are you sick of our faces yet? We certainly are. Through exclusive interviews and over a decade of deep research, renowned music journalist Jan Gradvall explores the secrets to ABBA's success. There has never been a group like ABBA. More than half a century after their songs were recorded, ABBA still make people the world over dance and sing their hearts out. In 2013, when the band had not been interviewed for over thirty years, Jan Gradvall was granted unique access to them for the next decade and the result is The Story of ABBA: Melancholy Undercover. Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad all share their personal stories, their thoughts and their opinions about ABBA's music more openly than ever before. Weaving in and out of their story, well-known international music critic Jan Gradvall reveals the context in which their unique sound developed and shows how the story of ABBA is also the story of Sweden and the globalization of pop culture. From their earliest hits in Sweden like "People Need Love" and "Ring, Ring" to their chart-topping international hits like "Dancing Queen," "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" and "Mama Mia!" to ABBA Voyage - their first album in forty years - and the two-million-ticket-selling eponymous concert-experience in London, it is undeniable that, in the history of pop culture and music, there has never been a group like ABBA. With remarkable intimacy, Gradvall's sensational book brings readers closer than ever to one of the world's most notoriously private groups.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

And the debate about a debate: Why are South Australian high schools debating the legitimacy of 'Tradwives'? Jessie's extensive debate career (ages 13-16), has prepared her for this moment. In 2015, Lauren Trevan’s husband was interviewed by police about messages he had sent to a teenage girl. He claimed they were harmless. They weren’t. As the investigation unfolded, Lauren learned the full extent of his actions — and how much had been hidden. At the same time, she was navigating a controlling and emotionally abusive relationship herself. In this episode, Claire Murphy speaks with Lauren about the intersection between coercive control and grooming behaviour — two forms of abuse that often remain unseen but have lasting impacts on victims. Lauren shares her experience and discusses her fictionalised book Now I See You, written to help break the silence around complex forms of abuse. You can find the book here. Nearly 30 years have passed since the Port Arthur massacre — one of the darkest and most devastating events in Australia's history. On April 28, 1996, a lone gunman, Martin Bryant, carried out the country’s deadliest mass shooting, killing 35 people and injuring 23 others in and around the historic Port Arthur site in Tasmania. For decades, the question of why he did it has haunted survivors, investigators, and the nation. Now, new insights are finally beginning to shed light on what may have driven Bryant to commit such an unfathomable act. This is the story of that day — the lives lost, the trauma endured, and the search for answers — as told through the eyes of survivor Anita Bingham. Retinol lovers, your skincare prayers have been answered! Kelly sits down with Medik8's Daniel Isaacs (the genius with suspiciously perfect skin), who finally explains why your face might be peeling off when using vitamin A products. From comparing retinoids to coffee shots (retinaldehyde is a single espresso, who knew?!) to the shocking confession that you CAN use retinol in summer, this chat is full of "wait, I've been doing it wrong" moments.Daniel's refreshingly basic routine honestly makes us question why we own 47 products when he's getting better results with three. He breaks down the only trio of skincare essentials actually worth your money, and explains his "start low, go slow" philosophy that'll save both your face and your credit card from unnecessary trauma! Why does it feel like the covert narcissist always knows how to ruin your mood—right before a party, dinner, or important event? If you've ever found yourself crying in the bathroom or cancelling plans because of a last-minute argument, this episode is for you.In this episode of Fake Love and Flying Monkeys, I (Nova Gibson, narcissistic abuse counsellor and author of Fake Love) unpack exactly why covert narcissists pick fights before you go out—and how this emotionally manipulative tactic is actually a form of social sabotage and control. In fact, I was recently interviewed by Mamamia, Australia's largest women's media platform, to talk about this exact phenomenon—known as “Occasion Theory.” You can read the full, incredibly relatable article here
On paper, Vincent Fantauzzo’s life looks perfect. He’s one of Australia’s most celebrated portrait artists, winning the People’s Choice Award at the Archibald Prize four times. His subjects have included some of Australia’s biggest names - Heath Ledger, Baz Luhrmann, Matt Moran - and his work hangs in galleries, private collections, and museums around the world. He’s married to beloved actress Asher Keddie, they’re raising two boys together, and from the outside, it looks like Vincent has it all. But his real story is far more complicated. In this conversation, Vincent opens up about the trauma he’s carried since childhood: neglect, abuse, crime, poverty and the trauma that shaped him long before he ever picked up a paintbrush. He speaks about growing up completely illiterate, the violence he witnessed and was part of as a teenager, and how boxing became the unlikely path that led him to art, and ultimately, to healing. This is a conversation about survival, love, redemption, and the parts of someone’s story you’ll never see just by looking at their life from the outside. You can follow Vincent and find his book, Unveiled, here: https://www.instagram.com/vincent_fantauzzo/?hl=en If this conversation brought up any hard feelings for you - please seek help. "It's not you, it's your eyebrow technique" – this week's episode tackles beauty's most awkward conversation.....like what to do when your eyebrow lady's work has gone downhill but you still chat like besties (spoiler: white lies might be your friend) and how to tackle those stubborn puffy eyes that make you look tired even after a solid eight hours. There's a serious warning about those "unhinged beauty hacks" flooding your TikTok feed – unless you fancy washing your face with floor cleaner and walking around with no skin barrier (yes, someone actually recommended Dettol as face wash, and no, please don't try it). Welcome to Weekend Watch! Where we recommend the shows and movies we can’t get enough of this week. First up, Mixtape is a nostalgic new Binge drama about first love, second chances, and a song that brings two people back together after decades apart. Then there’s Materialists, the sexy, stylish new film everyone in the Mamamia office is buzzing about. It’s not quite a rom-com, but it’s romantic, dramatic, and full of chaotic energy. Think high fashion, complicated relationships, and more than a few steamy moments. GET IN TOUCH:Do you have feedback or a topic you want us to discuss on The Spill? On the show today, Lena Dunham has dropped the first trailer for her new series Too Much, and it’s giving chaotic, romantic, autobiographical energy. We break down why this show feels like a return-to-form for Lena and why we're pumped for it to drop. Plus, Sabrina Carpenter has just announced her new album, and it's already making headlines thanks to a bold cover image. We unpack the aesthetic, and whether it's gone a touch too far. And finally, Glenn Powell’s ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris has given an interview dropping bombshells on that press tour with Sydney Sweeney, and we’re diving into the emotional fallout when PR chemistry spills into real-life heartbreak. Blake Lively has broken her silence on the It Ends With Us chaos, calling it “manufactured shame". With Justin Baldoni’s $614 million countersuit just dismissed, it’s validation for Lively — but the real drama’s not over till 2026. Mia, Jessie and Em Vernem discuss. Plus, Wife Guys. You’ve seen them online — gushing about their spouses like it’s their full-time job. Mia, Jessie and Em ask: is it wholesome... or a red flag? And finally, are we OK? Sydney Sweeney is selling 'vintage' soap made from her actual bath water, and Bonnie Blue was all set to launch a human petting zoo with herself as the star attraction — until Only Fans banned her. We unpack the trend of women turning themselves into brands and whether it’s empowerment to be proud of or something else that's far more troubling. Kaitlyn Braun spun an elaborate web of lies, convincing over 50 doulas she was pregnant after a traumatic assault. Her deception confused and shattered trust in the doula community, leaving many unsure if they could continue their work. Journalist Sarah Treleaven spent over eighteen months investigating Kaitlyn’s unusual story and the motives behind it. She brought these stories to life in her podcast, The Con: Kaitlyn’s Baby, where she details speaking to the doulas who were tricked, lied to and left disturbed by Kaitlyn's actions. The question remains: why did Kaitlyn do it — and is her deception finally over? Listen to The Con: Kaitlyn’s Baby here. Warning. This story and this opening scene feature descriptions of pregnancy loss and stillbirth.
