Mark Caldwell is the owner of Feetology Podiatry Centre in Victoria Point, Brisbane, and over the past twenty-plus years, he has honed his skills as a podiatrist, business owner and mentor. Mark's first job had no mentoring, which is why he places so much emphasis on this aspect of his business and encourages other business owners to do the same. If we want younger podiatrists to stay in the profession, we all must try to mentor them properly. In this episode, we discuss: How your interest in podiatry changes as you gain experience and see more varied patients. The importance of choosing the right employer, especially when you first graduate. Why he wanted to work for himself and control his destiny. Purchasing an existing podiatry business and building it from a two-day-a-week practice to employing multiple podiatrists. Focusing his time and energy on building Feetology and not taking a second job to supplement his income in the early days. How Mark and his wife Ariella decided on the name Feetology. Growing as an employer takes time. His Unofficial Pracsuite Users Group on Facebook (currently 160 members). Final Tip Keep challenging yourself as you go through your career, and keep looking for new things to do and to learn. It will keep you fresh and excited about our profession. Dan Berger & Walter Leiva. Davis Estates winemaker Walter Leiva is our guest on California Wine Country with Steve Jaxon and Dan Berger. Before talking about Davis Estates wines with Walter, Dan Berger has opened another cellar dweller, this one is a 2015 Pinot Gris from the Lichen Estate in Anderson Valley and it's delicious, everyone loves it. Dan detects flavors of dried peaches and a little spice element from the young wine. Pinot Gris is difficult because it produces tannins, when the grapes turn a pinkish-gray when ripening. Normally, tannins are not good for whites. Davis Estates is a family owned and operated boutique limited production winery located in Calistoga. They make several varieties, especially Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It ls located at 4060 Silverado Trail in the north end of Calistoga. They have a tasting room and a tasting experience with a full-time executive chef Mark Caldwell. He is a wine guy to creates pairings specifically for their wines. Dan Berger says, “The winery is spectacular, gorgeous.” They taste their 2019 Chardonnay which Dan Berger says is delicious but could stand three or four more years before it begins to show. It has a nice combination of tropical and citrus fruit. It uses oak barrels but no malolactic fermentation. Dan says that it is “white Burgunday incarnate” and that if it were French, it would go for $150 a bottle. This is a limited production, only about 600 or 700 cases. The property is easy to reach from Sonoma County. Dan recommends a visit. Click the logo to visit our sponsor Bottle Barn online for the best deals on wine, beer and spirits. This uses clone 95, which Dan says does not produce a lot of fruit, so it is expensive to make. For a winery with an emphasis on quality, that's fine. Walter mentions their quest to develop the phenolic profile in the vineyard. Next they will taste the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc, which is made with fruit from Rutherford, stainless steel fermented. They use “just a touch of oak,” for texture and it has a crisp acid and tropical fruit. In 1966, Mondavi started using the name Fumé Blanc, when very few people had had success with Sauvignon Blanc. The French designation was “Blanc Fumé” and so Robert Mondavi reversed the word order. The name of the label used to be Windmill Valley, which is reflected in the windmill on the Davis Estates labels. Now they taste Classic Chase, a blend of 48% Cabernet Franc, 49% Merlot and the rest is Petit Verdot. Cabernet Franc is the “father” of Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a little more personality, when grown properly. Dan says this will be the salvation of Napa Valley in the future. Merlot has more personality than Cab Sauvignon. This is a big wine that has good aging potential.

A Classic WWII Romantic Thriller That Was Made Into the 1940s Film Noir Masterpiece Starring Barbara Stanwyck and Errol Flynn! After learning her husband is dead, Sandra Marshall visits his remote family estate to claim her inheritance. There, Sandra faces a cold reception from her husband's uncle, research scientist Mark Caldwell, who is also the administrator of his rather large inheritance. For some reason her husband had never told his uncle about their wedding and he accuses Sandra of lying about the marriage, but allows her to stay until he can verify her story. However, her husband's teenage niece, Julie, welcomes Sandra with open arms. But soon tells Sandra that Mark is holding her prisoner and that strange things are going on in the sealed-off area of the mansion where he does his research. Julie also implies the other family members and servants are not telling the truth about the circumstances of Sandra's husband's death. Mark defends himself by saying Julie has an overactive imagination, leaving Sandra to wonder who and what she can believe. Sandra determines to find out for herself. Not realizing that in doing so she will become marked for murder by one of the most brilliant and scheming intellects she has ever encountered. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Welcome, everyone to the International Security Driver Association’s Executive Protection and Secure Transportation Podcast. After a two-year hiatus, the podcast is back! Every week we send secure transportation and executive protection, headlines, trends, educational content, and announcements from the International Security Driver Association and SecurityDriver.Com to our Podcast audience. You can find notes for this episode over on https://securitydriver.com In today’s podcast we’ll be discussing Omar Garcia Harfuch ambush. During Tony Scotti’s 45 years and, for the past 18 years, Joe Autera of Vehicle Dynamics Institute, have conducted forensic analysis on countless vehicle attacks. As they have in the past, Joe and Tony are currently analyzing the Omar García Harfuch Ambush that took place in Mexico in June of 2020. International Security Driver Association members Mark Caldwell and Gerardo Corona have contributed invaluable data and metrics to ensure the accuracy of the upcoming Forensic Analysis. In the past, they have used forensic science and engineering principles to determine the cause of a vehicle ambush. The analysis is based on a rigorous, disciplined approach to identify the problem that causes the event. They test all scenarios for accuracy. They measure maximum speed, the path the vehicle takes, vehicle performance, sight distance, and come up with the cause of the event followed by lessons learned. An example of past analysis is the Cantu Ambush. Rodolfo Torre Cantu was a physician and politician running for governor of the Mexican State of Tamaulipas. While driving in a non-armored two-vehicle convoy he was ambushed and assassinated. If you’d like to download for free the Cantu ambush go to https://isdacenter.org/cantuambush On June 26th at 6:35 AM, Mexico City Police Chief Omar García Harfuch was ambushed in his armored Suburban. The ambush occurred at the intersection of Monte Blanco and Av. Paseo de la Reforma. The attackers drove a large truck followed by a Suburban, out of AV. Monte Blanco and blocked the intersection as García Harfuch was driving on towards AV. Monte Blanco. As we share this information in the podcast, Joe Autera and the VDI team have recreated the Harfuch ambush scenario using one of their B6 Suburban’s. The analysis is underway, and the report is forthcoming in a future podcast. In the interim, we offer this quick outline of the attack followed by comments and opinions covering surveillance detection, armored vehicles, the driver, attack site and offer some suggestions.
