Today was a very special episode of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday as Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were joined in studio by Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF! The "Salt of The Earth" was in town for AEW Dynamite's Atlanta debut at State Farm arena and came by to get some issues off his chest before his bodyguard, Wardlow, faces his former mentor, Cody, inside AEW's first ever Steel Cage match. They talked about his issues with Cody since signing with AEW, whether taking the 10 lashes made him respect him more and what he makes of all the various factions in the AEW locker room. Took some listener questions on the facebook chat and discussed where he saw himself and the company in a few years. Tony and Beau tried to wrap the show talking about their competition, but it quickly went off the rails. Had a lot of fun with this one (Beau got to kiss the ring!), highly recommend checking out the video at 92-9's facebook page or at ProWrestlingWednesday.com.
Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc re-convened for another edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday on facebook.com/929TheGame to break down WWE's Stomping Grounds event, and Beau had a lot to crow about as he nailed all of his match predictions from last episode. This prompted Tony to ask if that much predictability was a good or a bad thing and a healthy discussion was had. Talk then turned to WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins' tweets about how WWE is the best wrestling on the planet and that no one is doing it better than them or him. Because it was twitter, people came down on all sides, but Tony and Beau both appreciated Rollins' effort after weeks of people(including former Shield-mate, Jon Moxley) putting down his employer. Then attention turned to this week's WWE TV and while the 24/7 Title will probably always make the list of "Bad Ideas," the excellent in-ring work of Ziggler and Kofi made up for most the bad parts. You can watch the episode at ProWrestlingWednesday.com or at 929TheGame on facebook.
On today's episode of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday as Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc discussed the WWE Superstar ShakeUp they stumbled upon their new catchphrase, "We Be Bookin'" as in, fantasy booking. With new Superstars on both Raw and Smackdown who will make the most impact? Who will challenge for new and bigger championships? What guys will be left in the dust? Tony and Beau tried to answer those questions and more. Pro-Wrestling Wednesday kicked off this morning at 10am and Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were back to give you their thoughts on Sunday night's WWE Event Fastlane. They both thought the show was good on the whole, but featured a lot of last minute changes to matches and a considerable amount of story-telling for what was once referred to as a Pay-Per-View. Most of which ended up spilling into this week's WWE TV as they make the final push to WrestleMania. Harlem Heat was announced as another entrant in the 2019 class of the WWE Hall of Fame and Tony told some stories about doing commentary with Stevie Ray. Tony asked if the Ronda/Charlotte/Becky storyline is starting to wear thin, Beau thought so and suggested getting away from the "one of them cuts a promo and then another interrupts" segments and finding some ways to further their storyline without giving too much of the match away. Two new matches for 'Mania materialized in AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton and presumed clash between Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio, both of which seem like they'll be a great fit for the 6+ hour WrestleMania card. Beau continues to believe in the The IIconics and Tony continues to believe they'll never make it, but dare to dream. Kofi Kingston has quite a challenge ahead of him in next week's gauntlet match, but does Kofi have a more legit claim to "not getting opportunities" than others that have walked this storyline path? Watch the show at facebook.com/929TheGame.com or ProWrestlingWednesday.com and keep an eye on our twitter and facebook to watch the show LIVE on 92-9's facebook page.
Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc got together for another edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday as Tony recapped his time at Ric Flair's birthday where anybody who's anybody in the world of sports and entertainment seemed to be in attendance. Beau and the other fat marks from 92-9 took a trip to State Farm Arena for the WWE's celebration of Flair that also featured a returning Roman Reigns and the surprise appearance of Dave Bautista. It's starting to feel a lot like Wrestlemania season as the pieces are starting to come together for both brands with a match between Batista and Triple H seemingly in the cards and Kevin Owens replacing Kofi Kingston in the WWE Title match at Fastlane. The "Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All Time" the Honky Tonk Man is joining D-X in the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame class and Tony tells a HTM story from his lone year in the then WWF. You can watch the video from the 92-9 Digital Studio on facebook.com/929TheGame or at ProWrestlingWednesday.com.
Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc had a super week down at Radio Row for the NFL's version of Wrestlemania so they opened the show talking about that. Tony did some interviews and took in a local wrestling show where his old pal The Yeti made an appearance. 92-9 The Game's most dynamic duo then looked at the rumors swirling around Dean Ambrose's alleged upcoming departure and what it could mean for AEW, but as usual Tony thinks it's a work and Dean ain't going anywhere. They then recapped everything since the Royal Rumble with the WWE as Tony's picks for the first stop on the road to wrestlemania beat Beau's rather handsomely. WWE's giving a lot more TV time to some stars like Apollo Crews and Dana Brooke, but still can't find anything for Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, what's up with that? Then the show goes completely off the rails as Beau makes a ridiculous bet about The IIconics and Tony goes into his love for Hummus. Watch the show at ProWrestlingWednesday.com or catch it wherever you get your podcasts as we celebrate another Pro-Wrestling Wednesday!
Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were back for another video edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday on facebook LIVE. The usual show open chatter lead to Beau asking Tony the last time his wife had attended a Wrestling show and Tony told a great story about his wife sitting on his lap while Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan and himself being held up at an arena by fans banging on their van. The WWE quickly wrote off the Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar match for Rumble, is this more of the "New Era" where WWE will scrap plans in an effort to put out a better product? Once again Beau was surprised by the new #1 Contender, but Tony wasn't because he's a Pro-Wrestling professional. Both the Alexa Bliss and Mandy Rose segments from Raw and Smackdown seemed like attitude era throwbacks, is WWE venturing into "pushing the envelope" territory once again? Beau and Tony try to settle these questions and more, this week on Pro-Wrestling Wednesday.
Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were joined this week by fellow mark and 92-9 The Game host, Jon Chuckery for a special Pre-Holiday edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday! The big news this weekend was "The Elite" wrapping up their final date with Ring of Honor, so the trio discussed the possibilities for those four individuals as well was the landscape of "independent" wrestling in general. With the TLC event this past Sunday having major implications for the WWE moving forward a discussion was had about how much was planned about the McMahon family taking back control of Raw and Smackdown again and what they really mean by putting the "fans" in charge. Tony smartened Jon up about how everything is a work and whatever did happen to that lawsuit between Hogan and Turner broadcasting?
After one of their trademark hiatuses, PWW's Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned to the 92-9 Digital Studio for another facebook live edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday! Recapping Tony's travel woes that scuttled the last episode attention turned to his upcoming live show Sunday, December 2nd at Laughing Skull lounge. (General Admission Tickets Still Available) Then of course, attention turned to the latest from WWE Television. Did WWE buy all the leather jackets for their roster? Why were two segments on Raw filmed at Medical Facilities? Is it possible WWE are paying to much attention to what people say about them on the internet? What can be done to elevate Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura and other exceptional NXT talents that seem to be treading water on the main roster? How does one pronounce Battle Royale? Tony and Beau attempt to answer these questions and more, this week on Pro-Wrestling Wednesday.
After Charlotte Flair spoke with Hugh Douglas and John Fricke she stopped by to talk on video about her career and future prospects with her Dad's old pal, Tony Schiavone, and his co-host, Beau Le Blanc, from Pro-Wrestling Wednesday. With her current list of accomplishments a lock for the Hall of Fame, what goals does she have for the future and if she can't get another title shot at Becky Lynch, what's next? Talk then turned to whether we'll see her go after a non-women's championship and what she remembers from her Atlanta debut in 2015. Charlotte praised her mixed match challenge partner AJ Styles and broke down what it was like preparing for a "Last Woman Standing" match. It was pretty surreal seeing Charlotte standing next to Tony Schiavone holding a microphone for her, hope y'all enjoy it! Head to ProWrestlingWednesday.com to watch the interview.
Pro-Wrestling Wednesday with Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned to the 92-9 The Game Podcast studios to talk all things happening inside the squared circle. Daniel Bryan recently responded to online critics of his wife's recent matches with his own tails of injuring opponents and calling for an end to the vitriol. Tony and Beau debated how fans should react to "botches" and how unfair the masses (especially on twitter) can be to the performers literally putting their lives on the line for our entertainment. Neville making his first post-WWE appearance and Adam Page reportedly turning down a WWE contract lead to a discussion of whether individual Wrestlers are becoming more powerful with regards to employment opportunities. Also, if it's true the Bullet Club Elite have a pact to stay together, will that affect their ability to continue down the path they've been on the last couple years. With WWE's Super Showdown coming at 5am ET this Saturday, Tony and Beau then turned their attention towards this week's WWE TV starting with Monday night Raw. How is Baron Corbin not allowing Roman Reigns to defend the title a punishment? Are they hinting at Dean Ambrose's possible heel turn too much? Who did Bobby Roode and The Revival piss off? Mr. Schiavone particularly enjoyed the nuclear heat Elias got for his "Seattle Supersonics" joke and Beau couldn't believe they made it all the way through the whole segment. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane and The Undertaker also proved why their still top guys when it comes to the WWE Main Event. Over on the blue brand, Beau lamented the lack of filming at AJ's house and how much WWE production relies on cell phone videos these days. Both Tony and Beau enjoyed Tye Dillinger's dissection at the hands of Randy Orton and really, everything Randy's done since he's been back on TV. Tony Schiavone is crossing his fingers that we've seen the last of Mr. Bootysworth on Smackdown Live. After 2 hours of teasing, did Becky Lynch's "Super Showdown Surprise" deliver? Also, again, Beau wished there was more to the Aiden English cell phone video and what it would've been like if it had been shot in '98. They closed the show by plugging some upcoming MLW dates for Tony and a great discussion on whether or not the WWE has lost its ability to make stars that stand out. Follow along with the show at PWW929 on twitter and facebook.
With Tony Schiavone back from StarrCast in Chicago and Beau Le Blanc fresh off a 3-Day-Weeekend at DragonCon they got back in the 92-9 The Game podcast studio for another edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday! Tony talked his big trip to the over-capacity event put on by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks, All In! He reconnected with old friends, made some new ones and got to experience a love-letter to Professional Wrestling along with 11,000+ fans in Chicago. Beau, conversely, went to DragonCon where he got the above picture with The Icon, Sting and The Man, Ric Flair and watched All In on PPV. Their attention then turned to the WWE Universe where both Raw and Smackdown seemed a little disjointed. Beau and Tony debated the feasability of WWE promoting so many special events simultaeneously and how successfully they were pulling it off. HBK and The Undertaker both looked great, what are the odds we see Shawn Michaels lace up his boots one more time? Beau liked the separate location interviews for Becky Lynch and Charlotte, but Tony didn't and had some suggestions on how it could've been done better. Is the WWE doing to many "pull aparts" and are they losing their effectiveness? All this and more on this week's edition of PWW!
After a lovely beach vacation, Beau Le Blanc returned to the 92-9 The Game Podcast Studio for another exciting edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday with Tony Schiavone! Tony and Beau started off with the biggest, yet most depressing story in Pro-Wrestling, the passing of the legendary Nikolai Volkoff and former WWF Tag Team Champion and son of Jerry Lawler, Brian Christopher. They then moved on to the WWE's big announcement about its upcoming "Revolution" event which will be the first all-female card ever put on by Vince McMahon's company. Beau speculated that this may be the perfect time to unveil Women's Tag Team Championships and Tony gave an old-school opinion on having heels and faces hanging out on the ramp in unison for the big announcement. As usual they broke down this week's editions of Raw and Smackdown. After they both were emphatic on the last episode that we wouldn't see Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, they were of course proven wrong. Beau contends that Lesnar's attack on Paul Heyman was meant to further enhance his heel credentials whilst Tony fantasy-booked a Roman/Heyman alliance. On the Smackdown side, both hosts praised the tremendous segment with Randy Orton stripping all the gimmicks off of Jeff Hardy and looked forward to the Miz facing Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam in 3 weeks. All this, and more, on this week's episode of PWW!
