What a wild road trip, starting with a panic-inducing sweep at the hands of the Padres and followed by an epic series in Los Angeles, where the Brewers won three of four. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg attempts to encapsulate all of it with host JR Radcliffe. Did the ninth inning Thursday become the turning point of the season? How do we classify this offense exactly? What about William Contreras in particular. The news is decent on the injury front, and Jacob Misiorowski, Dustin May, Logan Henderson and Jake Bauers are all stars. What's up with the rotating wheel of infield options (and can any of them make a play on defense)? In Three Up Three Down (33:30), they discuss a meltdown in San Diego starring Luis Rengifo, some quality moments of defense and Miz's escape against Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman. In Remembrew When (48:15), JR looks back at another time the Dodgers edged out the Brewers for a trade-deadline prize ... and then faced the Brewers in short order like Tarik Skubal on Sunday. In Curt Blanche (52:45), Curt has a saucy take about the Dodgers. Then, JR sits down with Brewers minor leaguers Jacob Hurtubise and Kaleb Bowman (1:01:30), who may not be household names but have intriguing baseball journeys. It's part of JR's visit to the Nashville Sounds last week.

Cooling off a bit today & tomorrow with high temps in the mid-to-upper 70's. Gonna get some more pavers laid for the firepit! On the show today, we talked about the things we hate when we go grocery shopping, and Grant Bilse of the Wisco Sports Show joined us just after 8am to talk Packer training camp and the Brewers moves at the MLB trade deadline. In the news this morning, the bodies of two missing kayakers from Chicago are found, the Mayor of Madison demands that the encampment comes down, a Wisconsin man took his helicopter to the sporting goods store to avoid traffic, Christina Applegate gets out of the hospital, Aaron Rodgers goes after Anthony Fauci, and there have now been a couple of deaths from the diarrhea lettuce. In sports, the Brewers lost to the Pirates last night, the Miz hated the mound in Los Angeles, the NFL Hall of Fame game is on Thursday and the HOF induction happens this weekend, and Notre Dame & USC are renewing their rivalry. We let you know what's on TV & streaming today/tonight and what's new on New Release Tuesday. "Spider Man: Brand New Day" officially broke the opening weekend box office record, but one theater had to be evacuated after somebody let out a hellacious fart. Ozzfest might be returning in 2027…Zac Brown gives away cruise tickets to an entire crowd at Fenway Park…and Lollapalooza included a bag filled with pee getting carried around like a crowd-surfer. A doctor in Brazil is helping kids that are going in for surgery so it's not so intimidating…and a dog from Pennsylvania is found in Wisconsin! Elsewhere in sports, the head coach for the US men's National Team is sticking around for awhile, UFC fighter Allan Nascimento has passed away, the injuries at 49er's training camp continue to pile up, and the Triple Crown might not be a "thing" anymore. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a new mom who found a bunch of old clothes in a box of diapers, a #FloridaMan who killed his own kid with a leaf blower, a chainsaw-carrying centaur robot, a daycare worker who's accused of dragging a kid across the floor, and a guy in Minnesota who was trying to stop kids from riding their bikes through his yard.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Brewers take a series against the Angels but can't get the sweep with Miz on the mound. Trade deadline day and Tarik Skubal is headed to the Dodgers (of course). The Miz sits down with TMZ's Inside the Ring for one of his most candid interviews yet, revealing a never-before-told WWE pitch that would have seen him face every Intercontinental Champion before an unforgettable WrestleMania ending involving Ultimate Warrior. He also reacts to Brock Lesnar passing the torch to Oba Femi at SummerSlam, explains why that moment wasn't something WWE could script, and shares why elevating the Intercontinental Championship is one of the accomplishments he's most proud of. Plus, The Miz reflects on the infamous promo mistake that changed the way he prepares forever, opens up about his "bullet point thinking" mindset, discusses Pat McAfee giving away his nickname, talks SummerSlam, golf, reality TV, and plays a hilarious game of "Ick or No Ick." It was a bit of an underwhelming week vs the Rockies and Giants, but they were able to still go 3-3 on the backs on 21 year olds Luis Lara and Cooper Pratt. Welcome to "Is This A Great Game, Or What?" hosted by Hall of Famer Tim Kurkjian, with everything else handled by his son, Jeff Kurkjian. The MLB Trade Deadline is looming, so you know we're diving into plenty of speculation and discussion. But first, Tim has a question about a walk-off automatic double that has us scratching our heads, and we'd love to hear your thoughts. We all know what an Immaculate Inning is, but what do you call it when a pitcher throws just three pitches and records three outs? Tim may have come up with the perfect name. In Takeaways, we discuss the Marlins' slump, the Angels' continued struggles, and somehow... The Miz. Plus, Max Muncy has officially cemented his place in Dodgers history. The Quirkjians feature Shane Bieber and Jacob Young with some of the best quirky baseball stats you'll find anywhere. Then, On This Date in Baseball History takes an unexpected turn involving Adrian Beltre and Bud Selig. Alphabest continues as Tim tries to name the greatest pitcher and position player for every letter of the alphabet. This week, the letter "S" might have given him his toughest challenge yet. We wrap things up with Three Cards and Team Tim to close out another fun episode. As always, thank you for listening. Without you, there is no show, and we truly appreciate all of your support. This heat is the WORST! I guess you could say it's going to cool off tomorrow with a high of just 87°, but I'm done with Summer. Let's get those crispy nights & chilly mornings going already. Jean's on vacation this week in Boston with her family, but I've got plenty of stuff to do this week with a big show on Friday at the Oktoberfest grounds…and a major concert announcement tomorrow morning. Speaking of this Friday's Megadeth & Obituary show at the Festgrounds, we talked to the legendary Dave Mustaine on Friday and ran that interview this morning. In the news today, a deadly shooting at a food festival in Seattle, a recall on a fabric dresser sold at Walmart, a deadly attack on a Pride celebration in Berlin, the latest on the shooting in Madison last week, and an update on the bio-hacker dude. The Brew Crew got a stellar start from the Miz yesterday and crushed the Rockies, Todd Gilliland may have won the $1 million in-season NASCAR tournament…but Corey Heim won the race yesterday, Tony Romo got popped for DUI over the weekend, and Lebron is heading to Philly to join the 76ers. Talked about what's on TV & streaming today/tonight…and recapped some of the highlights from this past weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego. Punch the Monkey just celebrated his first birthday and appears to be doing much better…and a dog that went missing over the 4th of July has been found & returned to his owners. Elsewhere in sports, the baseball HOF got some new inductees this weekend, Jacoby Brissett gets a nice contract extension, the 49ers head coach was involved in a pretty serious accident recently, John Tortarella is looking to coach again, and the NFLPA is investigating the Panthers after a player got seriously injured on the very first day of training camp! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaMan who broke into a neighbor's house and made himself a margarita, a #FloridaWoman who stabbed her friend with a pair of scissors, a guy who got stuck inside of a gas station sign for several hours, a couple of guys who parachuted off the space needle in Seattle, and a woman on a Carnival cruise ship that was scratching her feet with a fork.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
