On this episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, the twins are recording from the 1 Hotel in West Hollywood, fresh off a weekend full of memorable moments and big laughs. Nikki shares the emotional high of taking Matteo to his very first Monday Night RAW, a milestone she's dreamed of since before he was born. From watching him cheer in his Fearless Nikki hat to telling luchadores they reminded him of Spider-Man, Matteo fully embraced the magic of the night—and melted hearts when he worried about his mom taking a boot to the face. Brie reflects on why moments like these, when kids get to see their parents at work, are so meaningful and unforgettable. The sisters also catch up on their favorite LA rituals—like Nikki's glowing skin post-FaceGym visit and their new mission to get Bonita Bonita into the 1 Hotel. Plus, Nikki spills some behind-the-scenes WWE tea, including Maxxine's near-title win against Becky Lynch (and yes, Nikki brought six bottles of bubbly to celebrate) and the sweet words she received from Big E about her comeback. They talk about the importance of doing the work, growing with the new generation, and why showing up with the hunger still matters more than the highlight reels. To close things out, the twins dish on family FaceTime chaos between Buddy, Birdie, and Matteo, laugh about Brie's failed shoe resale adventure, and debate who would win in a fight for Thor's heart in a game of “Finish the Sentence.” Spoiler: Brie's switching teams to Aquaman. WWE made significant creative pivots to its main event scenes across Monday Night Raw and SmackDown with the latest Saturday Night's Main Event upcoming. Host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini open with a brief look at WWE news [7:20] before diving into The Main Event [16:45] where they tackle Cody Rhodes looking foolish against Drew McIntyre, Jacob Fatu being written off TV, The Vision getting excluded from a battle royal and Jey Uso being chosen to face CM Punk instead of LA Knight. "The Silver King" and Vintage" then break down The Good, The Bad and The Ugly [1:10:30], including Ilja Dragunov returning and beating Sami Zayn to win the United States title, AJ Styles & Dragon Lee upending Judgment Day for the world tag team titles, Dominik Mysterio remaining massively over, Becky Lynch being stuck in a Maxxine Dupri vortex, Nikki Bella returning to back Stephanie Vaquer and much more. Plus: What's next for John Cena? Follow Getting Over on Twitter, Bluesky & YouTube @GettingOverCast.
[00:00] Saturday Morning Wrestling & Childhood ThrowbacksJoe and Anthony kick things off talking about the weirdness (and secret perks) of watching wrestling at 8am. It's like being a kid again, but with more coffee and less cereal.[04:00] Perth Crowd, Ticket Prices, and “Is Perth Even a Real Place?”The guys riff on WWE's big show in Perth, the wild ticket prices, and whether anyone actually talks about Perth outside of wrestling. Spoiler: not really.[10:00] RAW vs. Crown Jewel & Seth's “Is He Hurt or Not?” SagaThey get into the never-ending Seth Rollins injury drama, why nobody believes anything anymore, and how WWE storylines sometimes make less sense than a fever dream.[18:00] LA Knight: The Best-Looking Guy Who Can't Catch a BreakLA Knight's booking gets roasted. Is he an underdog? Is he a cocky heel? Why does he keep tripping over his own feet? The guys have thoughts (and jokes).[25:00] Becky Lynch, Factions, and “What Even Is This Storyline?”Becky's name comes up, but so does the fact that half the storylines just got nuked. Expect some classic “what are they even doing?” rants.[32:00] Bailey, Lyra, and the Women's Division: Chaos & ChemistryBailey's new vibe, Lyra's straight-man energy, and why the women's division is a wild ride right now. Also, a surprising amount of talk about wrestling gear.[40:00] Referees, Announcers, and “Back in My Day…”A trip down memory lane: when refs and announcers had actual personalities, and why today's shows could use a little more flavor (and a little less sameness).[48:00] Dominic Mysterio vs. Penta: Cheating Done RightDominic's heel antics get a breakdown, plus a debate on whether being “too smart” is a good thing for a bad guy. Also, some love for old-school Eddie Guerrero tricks.[56:00] Rhea Ripley, Asuka, and “Why Is This So Complicated?”Rhea, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and a whole lot of chaos in the women's title scene. The guys try to make sense of it all (and mostly just laugh about it).[1:03:00] Bronson Reed, Jimmy & Jay Uso, and Tag Team TangentsBronson Reed's gear, Jimmy vs. Jay, and why some tag teams just feel like reheated pizza. Expect some sidebars and a few “what are they wearing?” moments.[1:10:00] Main Event: Jay Uso, LA Knight, and CM PunkThe crowd sings for Punk, LA Knight almost wins, and the guys wonder if we really need another Seth vs. Punk feud. Also: more jokes about fruit punch boxes.[1:18:00] Wrap-Up & RandomnessFinal thoughts, a few more rants, and a reminder to check out the Patreon. Welcome back to Wrestling Tonight, your weekly look at the stories shaping wrestling across WWE, AEW, TNA, NJPW, and beyond. Episode 143 follows a weekend where WWE launched its ESPN era with WrestlePalooza in Indianapolis while AEW countered with All Out in Toronto. Both events delivered major matches, big surprises, and plenty of conversation about where the industry is headed. WrestlePalooza leaned on spectacle and presentation, framed as ESPN's debut showcase. Triple H welcomed fans to the “final form of sports entertainment,” Pat McAfee returned home to the announce desk, and Brock Lesnar dominated John Cena in what felt like another farewell chapter. Stephanie Vaquer captured the vacant Women's World Title from IYO SKY, AJ Lee returned to force Becky Lynch to tap in a mixed tag with CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes retained over Drew McIntyre in a physical main event. The Undertaker also appeared to announce Stephanie McMahon as the first Hall of Fame inductee for 2026. Behind the matches, WWE emphasized site-fee partnerships and ESPN executives promised editorial independence — “a separation of church and state” — while creative stays in WWE's hands. AEW's All Out was more chaotic and match-heavy. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reunited against FTR in a feud intensified by Beth Copeland's involvement, Eddie Kingston returned and aligned with HOOK, and Mark Briscoe scored a career-defining win over MJF in a violent Tables & Tacks match. Kris Statlander shocked Toni Storm to win the Women's Title, Brodido retained the tag belts in a ladder match capped by the Jurassic Express reunion, and Jon Moxley beat Darby Allin in a Coffin Match with help from PAC. Kazuchika Okada outlasted Konosuke Takeshita and Máscara Dorada in the show-stealer, while Hangman Page retained the AEW World Title against Kyle Fletcher in a bout that elevated the 26-year-old as a future star. Taken together, WrestlePalooza was polished and corporate-friendly, AEW was riskier and more unpredictable. WWE projected mainstream legitimacy, AEW doubled down on edge and workrate. Neither show reinvented the wheel, but both reinforced their identities. Beyond the weekend, WrestleMania 43 is confirmed for Saudi Arabia in 2027, WWE will stage its first PLE in Italy in 2026, Joe Hendry is expected to move full-time to WWE, and Raja Jackson's arrest after attacking Syko Stu at a KnokX show has drawn widespread attention. Will Ospreay successfully underwent neck surgery, beginning a long recovery. The fall schedule remains packed with TNA Victory Road, NXT No Mercy, WWE Crown Jewel, TNA Bound for Glory, and AEW WrestleDream on deck. For now, the story is clear: WWE and AEW both planted flags this weekend — one through ESPN's polish, the other through chaos in Toronto. Support the Tavern at Patreon.com/TheTurnbuckleTavern. Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver kick things off with a deep dive into the chaos and charisma of Charlie Sheen. From wild stories to surprising moments of honesty, the Sheen documentary sparks a conversation about fame, family, and how excess shapes a legacy. Kev shares personal encounters that reveal just how unpredictable Hollywood icons can be. The talk doesn't stay in one lane. Wrestling fans will find plenty to chew on, from Kevin's blunt thoughts about Becky Lynch's current presentation to the state of WWE storytelling. When storylines feel flat, Nash is the first to call it out, and this week is no exception. The back and forth captures the frustration of longtime fans who know the business can deliver more. Sports sneak into the mix as Kev and Sean debate what makes a coach respectable. Is it brains, fitness, or results on the scoreboard? The conversation weaves from NBA classics to Andy Reid's record, highlighting how different standards apply depending on the stage. It's sharp, funny, and brutally honest. The episode also zooms out to bigger issues. Tariffs, grocery bills, and Ford's financial struggles all come under the microscope. Nash connects the dots between policy and everyday life, reminding listeners that business decisions always hit the consumer first. It's a conversation that flips between personal anecdotes and hard numbers without losing momentum. By the end, you've traveled from Springfield arenas to Saudi mega deals, sitcom paychecks to the question of whether Kev would ever open up in a documentary about his own life. It's unpredictable, unfiltered, and filled with the kind of honesty that makes Kliq This stand apart.
