Running the Boston Marathon was a dream for Natalie Daniels and doing it six-months postpartum felt like a way for her to celebrate the beauty and power of the female body. That's why Daniels says she was troubled to learn that the Boston Marathon was now allowing men who identify as women to compete in the women's category. Daniels, an avid marathon runner, shared her concerns regarding the Boston Marathon policy on social media and on a podcast with XX-XY Athletics just a few days before the marathon in April. Almost instantly, people Daniels did and did not know began attacking her over her opinion that men should not be allowed to compete in the women's category. The young mom faced threats, with individuals online encouraging Boston Marathon attendees to throw bottles at Daniels while she ran. Following the race, Daniels was kicked out of her running club for refusing to state that a man, with enough hormones and treatment, can ever become a woman. Today, she has partnered with XX-XY Athletics, a pro-women athletic apparel company, to stand up for the integrity and protection of women's sports. Daniels joins the Problematic Women Podcast to share her story and explain how her faith in God has played a critical role in her running journey. Also on today's show, we discuss Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., appeared on “The Shawn Ryan Show,” and the controversy following Chip and Joanna Gaines decision to feature a same-sex couple in their new TV series. And is “Swag,” Justin Bieber's new album, a hit or a miss? We give our reactions. Enjoy the show! Britt, Craig, and guest Sean crack open some cold ones, swap brewery stories, and break down their top QBs for 2024 fantasy football with help from a new guest: AI. We debate who has the most to prove (Herbert? Penix? Daniels?), why Bo Nix might be a sleeper, and how Jalen Hurts' tush push keeps him elite. Plus: Najee Harris vs. fireworks Antonio Brown's disappearing act A very scientific reason Le'Veon Bell eats chicken wings on his porch Why you should wait on drafting a QB this year (unless it's Superflex) Grab a beer and get ready for QB takes, fantasy insight, and plenty of nonsense. In this episode of Bottled Up, host Andrew Allen chats with Monica Daniels, Executive Director of Special Olympics Mississippi. Monica shares her personal journey into the nonprofit world, inspired by her daughter's experience with Magnolia Speech School. She discusses the history of the Special Olympics, its focus on inclusion and unified teams, and highlights how athletes now compete at high levels with dedicated training and support. Monica also talks about the organization's year-round events, the importance of community support, and ways people can get involved or volunteer. The conversation sheds light on how Special Olympics is changing lives both on and off the field, building confidence, independence, and community. 3 Episode Key Takeaways Empowering Athletes Through Competition and Voice Monica Daniels emphasizes that Special Olympics Mississippi focuses on being a truly competitive sports organization rather than just a recreational one. The goal is not only to train and prepare athletes for high-level competition but also to empower them to advocate for themselves, both on and off the field. Monica emphasizes the importance of allowing athletes to discover and utilize their own voices, developing not only physical skills but also confidence and self-advocacy. Unified Sports and Community Inclusion The organization has made significant strides in growing unified sports programs, primarily through partnerships with schools and Boys & Girls Clubs. These unified teams, made up of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities, help break down social barriers, promote inclusion, and foster friendships. Monica discusses successful unified teams in Mississippi and the broader effort to integrate these programs into schools and communities, helping to change mindsets and encourage greater acceptance. Comprehensive Support and Opportunities for Athletes Special Olympics Mississippi doesn't just focus on competition; it also provides extensive health screenings (vision, hearing, dental, podiatry, and overall health management) at state-level events, all free to athletes. The organization ensures no athlete pays to participate in competitions, including national-level events, thanks to donor support and community partnerships. They also make it easy for athletes, parents, and potential volunteers to get involved, highlighting a robust, community-driven support network.

Then, we continue the conversation around ESPN's Top 10 QB rankings from Jeremy Fowler, where league insiders weighed in on the best in the game. Pivot Family — you asked, and here we are. Your favorite trio is back: Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder reunite to break down the real stories behind this summer's hottest headlines. From sports and culture to relationships and personal growth, the guys tackle life's toughest pivots—and how one decision can change everything. As always, it's raw, honest, and layered with perspective—locker room wisdom served with laughs, truth, pain, and growth. Lists and rankings are just opinions, and you know what the people say about opinions, so this week, the crew reminds us why impact over income is often the better path. They dive into the cost of fame and the price of trusting the wrong people—like Rams star Puka Nacua's public relationship fallout, and how young athletes with good hearts often get burned. Tyler Lockett's story of remaining a virgin until marriage at 30 opens up a powerful conversation on discipline, faith, identity, and resisting the pressure to perform—on and off the field. But you already know—Channing's take is going to have you in tears laughing, the things he comes up with is just one of a kind! When it comes to sports and culture no topic's off limits: Cam Newton's callout of Jayden Daniels—was it personal? RC says this was a moment Cam should have taken a chance to be wrong instead of go for the sophomore slump chatter. Gillie da Kid's “young bulls ain't taking my spot” energy—is that confidence or stuck in old ways? Asante Samuel coming for Chris Carter—what does it say about legends letting go or how OG's treat rising stars? Then things get a little more serious.... Naomi Osaka's emotional return to the spotlight sparks a vulnerable dialogue on mental health, pressure, and what it means when even greatness doesn't feel like enough. The guys speak openly about loss, injuries, failure, and the quiet battles no one sees. And finally, with Texas devastated by recent flooding, they reflect on how life can shift in an instant—regardless of status or success. Tragedy doesn't discriminate. And as always, The Pivot is about more than just moving on—it's about moving forward with intention, purpose, and gratitude. We hope this episode gives you something—a laugh, a new perspective, or the clarity you didn't know you needed, because that's what family is for! Learn more about your ad choices.
