    Paging Dr. Schiavone

On a very special episode of PWW, Tony Schiavone helps Beau work through the seven stages of grief over Bray Wyatt's loss to Goldberg. Not to mention Undertaker beating AJ Styles and the dismantling of Ricochet by Brock Lesnar. By once again leaning on part-timers or stars from the past to promote WrestleMania, has WWE lost its ability to make new stars? Or will Cena and Goldberg's returns mean better things on the horizon for both Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns? Then on a more positive note, AEW Revolution was fantastic, and sure Tony's biased, but he said Hangman & Omega vs. The Young Bucks was the best tag team match he's ever seen. Beau brought up his new personal lord and savior, Orange Cassidy and how surprised he was with his match with PAC. You can watch PWW at ProWrestlingWednesday.com

Today was a very special episode of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday as Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were joined in studio by Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF! The "Salt of The Earth" was in town for AEW Dynamite's Atlanta debut at State Farm arena and came by to get some issues off his chest before his bodyguard, Wardlow, faces his former mentor, Cody, inside AEW's first ever Steel Cage match. They talked about his issues with Cody since signing with AEW, whether taking the 10 lashes made him respect him more and what he makes of all the various factions in the AEW locker room. Took some listener questions on the facebook chat and discussed where he saw himself and the company in a few years. Tony and Beau tried to wrap the show talking about their competition, but it quickly went off the rails. Had a lot of fun with this one (Beau got to kiss the ring!), highly recommend checking out the video at 92-9's facebook page or at ProWrestlingWednesday.com.

PWW was back in full effect this past Monday as Beau Le Blanc told Tony Schiavone he is all in on Vince McMahon's latest creation (reinvention?) The XFL! He thouroughly enjoyed watching his hometown Defenders win the first game ever and Tony mocked him for being desperate to buy some merch. Beau segued into a discussion of how some of the XFL's broadcast elements offered a more compelling product and how the NFL (much like the WWE and AEW) might be well served by learning from what they're doing. Wrestlemania 37 is going Hollywood, which is disappointing for those of us that thought Atlanta might be in the mix to host the show of shows. Beau commended AEW, Cody Rhodes and MJF for a killer main event segment that even had Tony acting like a mark. WWE is preparing for their next Saudi show, but don't seem all that thrilled to be promoting it with matches being announced on the sly. Beau's hopeful that Bray Wyatt's match with Goldberg will be a way to get The Fiend over, but Tony was skeptical that his old colleague would go along with a submission loss. AEW comes to Atlanta next weekend, so look for PWW to be live at 11am on Wednesday 11/19 over at facebook.com/929TheGame, you never know who might stop by. Tony Schiavone returned to the 92-9 Digital Studio with Beau Le Blanc for another super edition of PWW! Like any proper sports radio station a discussion of the Super Bowl was had and Tony let it be known that if anyone should be in a hummus commercial it should be him, not 16x World Champion Ric Flair! Beau asked Tony what it was like on the Chris Jericho cruise for the Dynamite taping and the peculiarity of  getting fireworks shot off in your face all night. Discussion turned to the WWE with the recent departure of its Co-Presidents (which caused a big drop in WWE's stock) and a reported reduction in house shows mean WWE is feeling the heat of increased competition or is Vince spending too much time on the XFL? Beau recapped Smackdown for Tony and was thouroughly disgusted by the dog food angle. Show closed with a Raw preview and both hosts being squemish over Edge getting con-chair-to'd immediately upon returning. Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc got together for the first episode of PWW of 2020 and had a lot to say about the recent episodes of WWE TV and of course Tony's day job, AEW. First they talked up some sports news and The Rock voicing LSU's national title promo, then the biggest story of the weekend, Tessa Blanchard becoming the first woman to hold a major championship of a televised wrestling company, when she beat Sami Callihan for the Impact World Title. Of course, being 2020, there was twitter controversy going into the match, but still an amazing accomplishment for her, Sami and Impact Wrestling. Beau and Tony are both intrigued by Brock Lesnar entering the Royal Rumble, but Beau was annoyed WWE spoiled the returns of John Morrison and Big Show with the biggest Battle Royale of the year coming up. Tony previewed this week's episode of Dynamite and Dark with some behind the scenes notes on names he's heard bandied about as future AEW competitors. Been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Tony Schiavone with debut of AEW on TNT, but Beau was happy to have him back and decided to start the show with an homage to the super well received finish of Seth Rollins match with The Fiend from Sunday. (Fun visual for the facebook viewers, check it out at ProWrestlingWednesday.com) But then it was down to business, discussing how Tony's been liking the new gig, some fun road stories about JR and Cody Rhodes and Beau asked him for one of those swanky AEW blazers. At a time when the WWE is facing stiffer competition is it a great time for them to be pulling in part-timers, non-wrestlers and doing wonky finishes? Probably not, but a discussion is had about what they could be thinking with the added attention from FOX and USA. Enjoy all this, and some Redskins bashing, on this week's episode of PWW!

Of course a discussion of AEW's "All Out" event and Chris Jericho's big win as the first AEW champion and subsequent search for stolent title belt. When it came to the WWE of course Bayley's heel turn was the biggest story over there, but what does it mean for Charlotte? Beau thought the biggest story coming out of the show was the debut of Bray Wyatt's "The Fiend" and the predictable win over Brock Lesnar by Seth Rollins. With SummerSlam in Toronto, Beau joked about how Canada wasn't exactly his idea of a Summer destination, which led Tony to talk about some of his favorite Bash at The Beach memories from his time at WCW. Clearly, WWE's new deal with FOX and USA is causing some anxiety about the brand split, but what can be done to fix it? All that and a recap of Sasha Banks' blue hair, this week, on PWW! This prompted Tony to ask if that much predictability was a good or a bad thing and a healthy discussion was had. Talk then turned to WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins' tweets about how WWE is the best wrestling on the planet and that no one is doing it better than them or him. Because it was twitter, people came down on all sides, but Tony and Beau both appreciated Rollins' effort after weeks of people(including former Shield-mate, Jon Moxley) putting down his employer. Then attention turned to this week's WWE TV and while the 24/7 Title will probably always make the list of "Bad Ideas," the excellent in-ring work of Ziggler and Kofi made up for most the bad parts. Tony Schiavone returned from the greater New York/New Jersey area with tales to tell from WrestleMania weekend and joined Beau Le Blanc to go through the highlights and lowlights of WWE's marquee event. As was prophecised last week, the show itself, was too long. It was the primary reason why Tony didn't attend the actual event and Beau lamented nearly dozing off during the later bouts as it ran from 5pm to 12:30am on Sunday night. Is there anything WWE can do to avoid that in the future? The matches themselves were fine, Kofi's win delivered, as did the other 6 title changes, but the botch in the main event and a gassed crowd didn't make Becky Lynch's crowning achievement the WrestleMania moment we all envisioned. What's next for the WWE, why a Superstar "Shake Up" of course. Tony and Beau recapped this week's episodes of Raw and Smackdown which both seemed redundant but the possibilty of Braun Strowman locking up with Samoa Joe is one of many exciting new possibilities. Pro-Wrestling Wednesday kicked off this morning at 10am and Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were back to give you their thoughts on Sunday night's WWE Event Fastlane. They both thought the show was good on the whole, but featured a lot of last minute changes to matches and a considerable amount of story-telling for what was once referred to as a Pay-Per-View. Most of which ended up spilling into this week's WWE TV as they make the final push to WrestleMania. Harlem Heat was announced as another entrant in the 2019 class of the WWE Hall of Fame and Tony told some stories about doing commentary with Stevie Ray. Tony asked if the Ronda/Charlotte/Becky storyline is starting to wear thin, Beau thought so and suggested getting away from the "one of them cuts a promo and then another interrupts" segments and finding some ways to further their storyline without giving too much of the match away. Two new matches for 'Mania materialized in AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton and presumed clash between Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio, both of which seem like they'll be a great fit for the 6+ hour WrestleMania card. Beau continues to believe in the The IIconics and Tony continues to believe they'll never make it, but dare to dream. Kofi Kingston has quite a challenge ahead of him in next week's gauntlet match, but does Kofi have a more legit claim to "not getting opportunities" than others that have walked this storyline path? Watch the show at facebook.com/929TheGame.com or ProWrestlingWednesday.com and keep an eye on our twitter and facebook to watch the show LIVE on 92-9's facebook page.

Of course Tony didn't understand Conrad Thompson's text and did not "join the revolution" in Jacksonville for the debut of All Elite Wrestling, the new promotion spearheaded by Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks along with Shad and Tony Khan. A discussion of their "Double or Nothing" Event and what it will take for the upstart promotion to succeed was discussed. Then as usual, attention turned to Vincent K McMahon's wrestling company, the WWE. For a "New Era" it sure seemed like we were still getting some of the matches we've been seeing, albeit with much more character development in the likes of the "New" Daniel Bryan and Mandy Rose to name a few. Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc were joined this week by fellow mark and 92-9 The Game host, Jon Chuckery for a special Pre-Holiday edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday! The big news this weekend was "The Elite" wrapping up their final date with Ring of Honor, so the trio discussed the possibilities for those four individuals as well was the landscape of "independent" wrestling in general. With the TLC event this past Sunday having major implications for the WWE moving forward a discussion was had about how much was planned about the McMahon family taking back control of Raw and Smackdown again and what they really mean by putting the "fans" in charge. Tony smartened Jon up about how everything is a work and whatever did happen to that lawsuit between Hogan and Turner broadcasting?

Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc got together in the 92-9 The Game Digital Studio for another facebook LIVE edition of PWW. This week they broke down WWE's latest PPV extravaganza, TLC! Once again debating just how evil GM-elect Baron Corbin has been and whether it made sense for Seth Rollins to blame him for low ratings and sub-par segments of television. Also, does it make sense to do a TLC match a mere 6 days before the titular event? Over on Smackdown Beau had to smarten Tony up on who Mustafa Ali was, but both were happy to see some new blood injected into the Smackdown roster. They closed the show making their predicitons for the TLC card and you can see how they did this Sunday on the WWE Network.

Back for another facebook LIVE edition of PWW, Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc broke down the world of Pro-Wrestling as only they can. Beau went to Tony's live show at the Laughing Skull last weekend and Tony discussed doing that and what him and Conrad have planned for the future. Tony was also educating us on the latest with MLW and asked whether it seemed like "independent" promotions were making a greater effort to lock down talent lately. Ronda Rousey is currently WWE Raw's biggest star as she's been getting a lot of airtime lately, so Tony and Beau debate what that means for the program over all. Sasha Banks and Bayley finally uttered the words, "Women's Tag Team Champions" on TV, which Beau has been suggesting for months. Who would make good teams? Seems like several are already established. Over on Smackdown Beau wondered why we so rarely see Shinsuke Nakamura and Tony wondered why we keep seeing Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton. Beau made a face turn of sorts by shaving his face, which Tony was NOT in favor of, but the heel turn by Daniel Bryan was welcomed by both men. Listen at your leisure and let us know what you think at @PWW929 on twitter and facebook.

After one of their trademark hiatuses, PWW's Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned to the 92-9 Digital Studio for another facebook live edition of Pro-Wrestling Wednesday! Recapping Tony's travel woes that scuttled the last episode attention turned to his upcoming live show Sunday, December 2nd at Laughing Skull lounge. (General Admission Tickets Still Available) Then of course, attention turned to the latest from WWE Television. Did WWE buy all the leather jackets for their roster? Why were two segments on Raw filmed at Medical Facilities? Is it possible WWE are paying to much attention to what people say about them on the internet? What can be done to elevate Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura and other exceptional NXT talents that seem to be treading water on the main roster? How does one pronounce Battle Royale? Tony and Beau attempt to answer these questions and more, this week on Pro-Wrestling Wednesday.

With a big week of Wrestling in Atlanta, Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned to the podcast studio for another edition of PWW. Smackdown was in town, so Beau attended the show and Tony snuck backstage to say hey to his pals Arn Anderson and Dean Malenko. They also recapped their video interview with Charlotte Flair from Tuesday morning and her match at Evolution. They then turned their attention to WWE TV as they make their way to the controversial WWE Crown Jewel. With last minute re-writes and the departure of Roman Reigns will the event deliver? Beau's looking forward to see Kurt Angle wrestle a "real" match for the first time since his return to WWE, but Tony's skeptical that he'll wrestle more than once in the tournament. Can Braun Strowman fill the star gap at the top of the Raw roster and does Shane McMahon's threat to fire a Smackdown Superstar mean someone's headed to Monday Nights? Both Beau and Tony noticed that neither Seth Rollins or Dean Ambrose had their Raw Tag Team Titles with them on Monday and the announcers made no mention of them either, which was odd. Beau questioned the point of splitting Apollo Crews from Titus if all he's going to do is take 3 second tans. AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan delivered on Smackdown, but both hosts can't wait for them to lock up on a grander stage. Where's Shinsuke Nakamura been? Will they ever do anything with the US Title? All this and Tony telling AJ Styles he'll never text him again, this week on PWW!

After Charlotte Flair spoke with Hugh Douglas and John Fricke she stopped by to talk on video about her career and future prospects with her Dad's old pal, Tony Schiavone, and his co-host, Beau Le Blanc, from Pro-Wrestling Wednesday. With her current list of accomplishments a lock for the Hall of Fame, what goals does she have for the future and if she can't get another title shot at Becky Lynch, what's next? Talk then turned to whether we'll see her go after a non-women's championship and what she remembers from her Atlanta debut in 2015. Charlotte praised her mixed match challenge partner AJ Styles and broke down what it was like preparing for a "Last Woman Standing" match. It was pretty surreal seeing Charlotte standing next to Tony Schiavone holding a microphone for her, hope y'all enjoy it! Head to ProWrestlingWednesday.com to watch the interview.

PWW returned after a couple weeks off to recap the biggest news in all of Profesional Wrestling, Roman Reigns relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship after announcing his Leukemia has returned. Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc speculated on what this means for the current storylines over on WWE Raw and who can pick up the torch with Monday Night's biggest star on the shelf. We wish Roman Reigns (Joe Anoaʻi) the best on his recovery and look forward to seeing him return.  Tony Schiavone spent the past weekend seeing Sting back in his hometown of Waynesboro, VA for a show, then travelling to Tennessee for the NWA 70th anniversary. Tony got a chance to meet a lot of fans, take pics with a replica of the old Saturday Night set, not to mention call the action as part of a three man booth with Jim Cornette. Beau and Tony both loved the new NWA National Championship design and were glad to see a night dedicated to respecting the past while pressing towards the future. WWE's dealings with Saudi Arabia came under scrutiny recently and it looks like the Crown Jewel event may take place elsewhere or be without some top stars. Beau and Tony debated what they could do, especially with so much riding on the event financially and storyline-wise. Certainly not the press coverage they were looking for heading into this week's all-female WWE Evolution event.  As usual, Tony and Beau brokedown the latest episodes of TV, highlighting Dean Ambrose's heel turn, Trish and Lita's backstage beatdown and Becky Lynch attacking Charlotte off-campus at the NXT facility. While neither man was surprised at the outcome, the weeks of build up for Aiden English just to be squashed by Rusev was anti-climatic. Beau was hoping that the Evolution event would have more going on, storyline wise, but Tony convinced him that it probably didn't need to have major ramifications for the rest of the show, since it was filled with so many title matches and legends.  Follow PWW929 on twitter and facebook to keep up with the show!

PWW 044 -- "Superstars" Set for Super Showdown

Pro-Wrestling Wednesday with Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned to the 92-9 The Game Podcast studios to talk all things happening inside the squared circle. Daniel Bryan recently responded to online critics of his wife's recent matches with his own tails of injuring opponents and calling for an end to the vitriol. Tony and Beau debated how fans should react to "botches" and how unfair the masses (especially on twitter) can be to the performers literally putting their lives on the line for our entertainment. Neville making his first post-WWE appearance and Adam Page reportedly turning down a WWE contract lead to a discussion of whether individual Wrestlers are becoming more powerful with regards to employment opportunities. Also, if it's true the Bullet Club Elite have a pact to stay together, will that affect their ability to continue down the path they've been on the last couple years.  With WWE's Super Showdown coming at 5am ET this Saturday, Tony and Beau then turned their attention towards this week's WWE TV starting with Monday night Raw. How is Baron Corbin not allowing Roman Reigns to defend the title a punishment? Are they hinting at Dean Ambrose's possible heel turn too much? Who did Bobby Roode and The Revival piss off? Mr. Schiavone particularly enjoyed the nuclear heat Elias got for his "Seattle Supersonics" joke and Beau couldn't believe they made it all the way through the whole segment. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane and The Undertaker also proved why their still top guys when it comes to the WWE Main Event.  Over on the blue brand, Beau lamented the lack of filming at AJ's house and how much WWE production relies on cell phone videos these days. Both Tony and Beau enjoyed Tye Dillinger's dissection at the hands of Randy Orton and really, everything Randy's done since he's been back on TV. Tony Schiavone is crossing his fingers that we've seen the last of Mr. Bootysworth on Smackdown Live. After 2 hours of teasing, did Becky Lynch's "Super Showdown Surprise" deliver? Also, again, Beau wished there was more to the Aiden English cell phone video and what it would've been like if it had been shot in '98.  They closed the show by plugging some upcoming MLW dates for Tony and a great discussion on whether or not the WWE has lost its ability to make stars that stand out. Follow along with the show at PWW929 on twitter and facebook.

Also discussed his goals for the future, what it was like being at "All-In" and what other upcomers he likes besides his SCU pal, Scorpio Sky.
