How much do you know about deafblindness? If your answer is "very little", it seems you're in good company. Such is the lack of research on the condition that the charity Deafblind UK has collaborated with Birmingham City University to establish a new education and research centre. Said to be the first of its kind, its aim is to both undertake influential research and raise general awareness of deafblindness. It will also equip junior researchers and others with the knowledge and skills to become future leaders in the field. We're joined by Dr. Peter Simcock, who is leading the work at the centre and Georgina Smerald from the charity Sense. We also hear from Robert Nolan, Emma Blackmore and Jo Milne, all of whom are Deafblind.Presenter: Peter White Producer: Fern Lulham Production Coordinator: Kim AgostinoWebsite image description: Peter White sits smiling in the centre of the image, wearing a dark green jumper. Above Peter's head is the BBC logo (three individual white squares house each of the three letters). Bottom centre and overlaying the image are the words "In Touch"; and the Radio 4 logo (the word Radio in a bold white font, with the number 4 inside a white circle). The background is a bright mid-blue with two rectangles angled diagonally angled diagonally to the right. Both are behind Peter, one of a darker blue and the other is a lighter blue.'

He has gone with Once Upon a Time at Christmas (2017), a film which none of the four co-hosts have seen it before! Will it be a Merry Christmas season for Tubi Tuesdays? You'll have to listen and find out!Once Upon a Time at Christmas was directed by Paul Tanter, it stars Simon Phillips, Sayla de Goode, Devon Collins, Jeff Ellenberger, Susannah Mackay, Eric Welch, Brook Fletcher, Robert Nolan, Laurel Brady, Isabelle Desnoyers and Laura Darby. If you have never listened to a commentary before and want to watch the film along with the podcast, here is how it works. You simply need to grab a copy of the film or load it up on Tubi (you may need alcohol), and sync up the podcast audio with the film. We will tell you when to press and you follow along, it is that easy! Because we have watched the films on Tubi, it is a free service and there are ads, however we will give a warning when it comes up, so you can pause the film and provide time stamps to keep in sync.Highlights include:* Merry Christmas Month!* Bede struggles to introduce the show, nothing new here!* So why is Mrs Claus acting like Harley Quinn?* What is President Louise up to?* Are the cops really useless in this town?* Why is this a British film with most everyone doing American accents? The locations don't remotely look American but quite British too ...* Did we work out the killers motives before the actual cops?* Plus much, much more!Check out The Super Network on Patreon to gain early access to The Tubi Tuesdays Podcast!DISCLAIMER: This audio commentary isn't meant to be taken seriously, it is just a humourous look at a film. It is for entertainment purposes, we do not wish to offend anyone who worked on and in the film, we have respect for you all.Music provided by DeNNo, introduction and podcast editing by Super Marcey & Bede Jermyn Hosted on Acast. My Conversation with Matt Grace and Robert Nolan: Matt Grace and Robert Nolan have been playing volleyball together for a very long time. They played youth volleyball on club teams, on elite travel teams, for their high school and for their chosen college, the State University of New York at New Paltz. They won a lot of matches together… they even helped SUNY New Paltz win the NCAA Division 3 Men's Volleyball Championship in 2019. So, you can imagine their disappointment when the defense of their championship and their senior year was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today's discussion describes how they handled the news of their season ending when they first heard it, how they've spent the past few months since the abrupt end to their season, and you'll hear about their plans for next year. It's all very impressive!
